but he's from Western Pennsylvania.
as was Dan Marino and how many Super Bowls did the two of them together win?

I posted this elsewhere:
63.0 QB Rating 12 TDs 20 INTs 53.8% 162.9 yards per game 26 sacks in 15 games59.9 QB Rating 10 TDs 19 INTs 54.6% 185.7 yards per game 24 sacks in 10 games
61.0 QB Rating 13 TDs 20 INTs 53.3% 226.7 yards per game 20 sacks in 10 games
70.4 QB Rating 07 TDs 08 INTs 56.1% 163.0 yards per game 12 sacks in 10 games
Quickly tell me which of the 3 was Mark Sanchez, which was Josh Freeman and which was Matt Stafford? Times up. I listed them in order and Sanchez had the worse statistically year yet his team did best, why? Perhaps because he wasn't ask to do as much on offense in part because of the Jets strong running game and why do the Jets have a strong running game? In part because they drafted D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Nick Mangold in 2006. Oh and that 4th QB listed, that was Trent Edwards' stats from his rookie year.
-
Keep an eye on these 4 names in free agency: Aubrayo Franklin, Vince Wilfork, Casey Hampton and Jamal Williams(could be cut and signed as a stop gap). Then target Cody and Dan Williams in the 2nd round for the 2nd wave.
The 49ers franchised Franklin last year and wouldn't be shocked if do it again this year. Wilfolk will be a RFA unless a salary cap is implemented and even so could get the franchise tag from the Pats. Hampton might be available as the Steelers might be looking to get younger at the position. Williams has seen better days and should be available but have to wonder what's in the tank. Some other guys who have played NT in 3-4s that should be on the UFA landscape are Richard Seymour (though if the Radiers don't put some kind of tag on him they're in trouble) Jason Ferguson, Ryan Pickett and Bryan Robinson.

That hippie was Sol Star in Deadwood. MIB was also in Deadwood.
In terms of the spring, I thought his hand did not heal and that is why they said something to the effect of 'this could be dangerous". My thought was the water being brwon signified some sort of change, but they were scared to mess with the instructions on how the spring worked by keeping Sayid for the full amount of the hr glass, even though it looked like he was better.
It didn't heal from what I remember either, I also one of the Templetons (I don't know what else to call them) mentioned that the spring wasn't clear so it only recently become brown. Perhaps another effect of the H-bomb?
-
I immediately thought that both Jacob and his \"brother\" are beings who continually resurrect into new bodies when they die to continue their struggles. This spring facillitates this process. It is highly possible that they have both done this several times, and the the men we know as Jacob and his nemesis (should be call him Esau?) are past visitors to the island that were possessed by the White and the Black?
From their conversation on the beach it's obvious that Jacob and MiB/Esau have done this game in the past. As perhaps they bring people to the island to test humanity. Yet think we saw Esau tell Ben in Locke form that he's tired of the game and wants to go home and might be why he killed Jacob. Yet appears Jacob is going to one up him and reappear as Sayid.
With one exception, everyone that Smokey (or Jacob) has \"embodied\" has been dead and brought to the island (Eko\'s brother, Jack\'s father, Locke). The only exception has been Walt -- but that could be because Walt wasn\'t possessed at all but he was just \"special\".Oh, and I guess Kate\'s horse counts too. That would be another exception to this rule.
What about Ben's mother? As it was the vision of his mother (now the question is was this vision Jacob or Mib/Esau?) that caused young Ben to venture into the woods and find The Others. Another thing I forgot to bring up and probably it's obvious but with the ash circles it appear likely that Jacob was in the cabin and The Others were trying to protect him from Mib/Esau and likely why only Ben and Richard were the only ones that were supposed to meet with him.
if anyone is able to rewatch that clip now, can we clarify whether she said \"first flight\" or \"first plane\"?remember there have now been TWO plane crashes on the island. Flights 815 and 316.
i was under the impression that she meant \"the plane i was on from 3 years ago, not the one that crashed a couple days ago\". but i could be wrong....
I just watched it again and the the quote was, "I know who they are. They were on the first plane, Oceanic 815, along with me". As I originally stated, I think the obvious connection is to think 815 vs 316 but again I just wonder... I mean if Oceanic Flight 815 lands in LA like we see in 2004 the question still remains why are Lostaways are on the island in 2007 and why would Sawyer be ranting about things didn't work when it appears it did when we see him in the LA airport and of course this is what we'll find out in the next few weeks.
-
To me the "it worked" comment likely a comment of preventing 815 from crashing.
Yet the questions lingers why don't the 2007 Lostaways acknowledge this. Yet the stewardess from 815 at the Temple mentioned that Jack et all were from the "first" flight" not sure if this means anything more then they weren't part of the new crew from 316 or not but it's a line that stuck with me. Another line that stuck with me was Charlie commenting that he was supposed to die.
Agreed that Smokey is reading people's thoughts after their dead as think is "it's" way of convincing other people that it's human. As starting to believe that Smokey is the devil and Jacob is God/Jesus or whatever you want to call your "Good deity" whereas Smokey is obviously the bad. White vs Black etc. As also remember comments about stuck on a rock could mean the island but think more of a comment about earth itself. Smokey's home ultimately might be hell.
Smokey's commenting about seeing Richard in chains opens up that we could see the Richard back story episode, that I for one and sure many others crave.
Locke's discussion with Jack at the end was touching and opens up the idea that perhaps Jack can fix Locke. Yet again questions remain about the purpose of the island etc.

History with Chan both in KC and Dallas....
I'm pretty sure he ran a hybrid 4-3/3-4 in Arizona two years ago and of course went full out 3-4 in KC last year. There's a good chance he could land here but his defenses in Arizona and KC were nothing to write home about.

While most of the sportswriting world has already speculated that Kurt Warner's press conference, set for 3 p.m. ET Friday, will serve as his official retirement announcement, our own inside source informs me that Warner is definitely walking away. I've learned not to question his judgment.
Which begs the question of Warner's legacy, of course. If you'd asked me about his Hall of Fame chances a year ago, I would have hemmed and hawed before saying that yes, he "probably" had a good chance to get in "someday." (Okay, so I hedge my bets.) Looking back, I wonder what I was thinking, because the two-time MVP looks like a first-ballot lock.
Since The Associated Press started handing out Most Valuable Player honors in 1957, only six players have won the award more than once: Peyton Manning (4), Brett Favre (3), Jim Brown (3), Johnny Unitas (3), Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Warner. Brown, Unitas, Montana, and Young were each elected in their first year of eligibility. Manning and Favre certainly will be. Is there any valid reason to keep Warner out of that group?
If there is, let's hear it.
If he played two more seasons he'd be on par with Kelly in terms of games played. Yet he's had more 30 TD seasons than Kelly, a better completion percentage and better QB rating. I'm pretty sure Warner has a better TD/game D and yards per game and of course he's also played a lot better in Super Bowls then Kelly ever did including won 1. So yeah Warner deserves to be in the HOF.

With Owens, Reed and Parrish possibly all on their way out, WR certainly is a need, both in terms of a starter and for depth. My guess is that they'll be in the market for a decent veteran, possibly re-signing Josh Reed, plus will add a rookie in the middle rounds to provide some quality longer term competition for James Hardy and Steve Johnson
I'm one of the few Josh Reed fans on the board but I think a better idea would be replacing him. One UFA that I saw that is interesting is Bobby Wade, who played in KC last year. So there's an immediate connection to Gailey so perhaps he can pass on some of his knowledge of it to are other players. He's a decent 3rd WR having averaged 2.4 catches per game compared to Reed's 2.7. He's also averaged 28.8 yards per game compared to Reed's 31.1. In terms of yards per catch Wade's at 11.7 vs Reed's 11.5. In terms of YAC both are at 3.9. Both are 5-10 but Wade's a little smaller at 196 lbs vs Reed's 210. Wade's a year younger then Reed. I know people are asking me why would you replace Reed with "another Reed", easily Wade is also a punt returner and he averaged a better than Parrish. Wade at 7.6 and Parrish was at 5.5. Of course Parrish does top him for career numbers but to be honest if we could find a guy that could replace both Reed and Parrish I'm all for it because it could allow us to keep another young WR or possible another position.

What about Poz as an OLB? I think he's better suited to play OLB in a 3-4.
Poz wouldn't be a good OLB in the 3-4, in the 3-4 you want to have OLB that can rush the QB and a little bigger at 255#. However I feel he's best suited to play SLB in a 4-3.

By the looks of things, all signs are pointing to Owens not being here next year, making Lee Evans the number one again, although he was the number one last year (technically). Josh Reed is a free-agent, and I'm officially declaring Hardy a bust. Steve Johnson showed some upside two years ago, and never really got a shot this year with T.O. here, so do the Bills go after another WR either in the draft, or preferably(IMO) free-agency?
Rookie WRs rarely make impacts. I'd rather get a veteran in free agency and draft a WR in Rounds 4-7.
-
Yep. McClain does look good and SEC defenses are great, but he also benefitted tremendously from playing behind Cody. Clausen put up great numbers this year, playing in a pro-style offense under a guy who worked with and helped develop Tom Brady for many years.
and as good as his numbers were how come he wasn't winning at Notre Dame?
-
Don't forget about Jake Long too.
-
Guy is in charge of pro FA signings right? If so,he should go. I actually think Modrak is pretty good. I hope he stays.
As far as I understand it all Guy does is look at professional talent that's out there and brings them in. He isn't the one making the signings etc. That should still fall on Nix and Wilson as far as I read things.

Haslett, Green, Fassell, Cottrell - will any of them get an interview from our team? If so, which one? Buddy sounded like he was interested in getting a head coach that had been an HC before. I'm just curious why none of the UFL coaches have been mentioned yet?
This may have been a thread before- if so, I apologize. I'm just curious if any of these will get a serious look.
I had a nightmare that Cottrell was named the Bills HC. As he has a connection with Ralph and Nix.

Hint #1: Shane Conlan played at Penn St.. like Poz..
Hint #2: Cornelius Bennett played at Alabama.. like ???
Rolando McClain [/hint]
Good player, but can he block too? We have so many holes we should draft two way players. Git er done Russ! The problem is there might not be a OT/QB/DT that's worth taking at #9 overall so instead of reaching for a player it might be worth taking McClain as he might not be an immediate need but might be the best prospect available and help fill a lesser need at LB as think many feel he's better then Ellison and/or long term solution as can't see Mitchell sticking around after his contract ends. Yet a better idea be to trade down and then take a guy like Beluga an OT from Iowa.
-
in the 2010 draft the Bills select the next Cornelius Bennett!
He'll fit in well next to the next Shane Conlan.
-
So did Trent Edwards.
As did Brian Billick (16–18–0 when he served under Dennis Green at Stanford's assistant head coach and
tight ends coach). If looking at QBs with winning records how about Dan LeFevour, 36-15?
-
Huh. I read Cuse and Lindelof say there were going to be no footage preview scenes in the promos, b/c even a second's glimpse would give away what they're doing for S6. Are you sure it wasn't just a compendium of previous seasons' footage? i.e. when Charlie said, "Where are we?" after learning the content of Rousseau's broadcast and that it had been playing for 16 years.
Yes, in looking back it was said scene.
-
The shake up for this roster is imminent and if a big body WR with some speed is needed then I don't think Hardy is that guy. Looking at the Giants' needs they suffer in the secondary the most and their S Kenny Phillips had microfracture surgery on his left knee and may not be the same player that they drafted. I think that it would be interesting to see if their 2009 3rd rd pick WR Ramses Barden would be available in a trade for some secondary/S help. Whitner for Barden could serve a dual purpose in establishing a new direction for the Bills.
Barden has 1 career reception, he's better then Hardy because....? I know most tend to over value our players but to say trade Whitner for this guy, are you mad?
-
I saw a preview with Charlie in it and pretty sure he was with Kate and he asked "where are we?" a few days ago and was looking at my calender wishing it was February 2nd. I'm in the belief that they did change things and the plane never crashed and this season will focus on the LOSTaways lives had the crash never happened of course that preview might dismiss everything because if the crash didn't happen then Kate should be in prison and likely would have never met Charlie either way I can't wait.

do you really think there is a Kelly or Wolford even in this draft? i dont.
Okung might be as good as Wolford or maybe better. That said he's probably gone by pick 9 so that's a pipe dream. Anthonty Davis and Bryan Bulaga are also well tought of and if available considered above average prospects who I'd welcome compared to what we have currently at LT. Yet as R. Rich writes might not be worth taking in the top 10 so it might be smart to actually trade down acquire some more picks and take the LT we need and then perhaps use a 2nd or 3rd we get for moving down to work on other needs like DT or LB and/or QB. As I've stated numerous times that the draft getting the best collection of players.
-
A more objective analysis would be to limit yourself to the 5 players after they picked in round that round. Its easy to cherry pick the best from each round. You have to think of who they needed at the time or a similar player (Whitner vs Ngata or Maybin vs Orakpo) to gauge how they did. Remember that Kelly was our 2ND first round pick when we picked him.
In the end it all comes down to the results on the field which is the most objective measure of how they did.
As you asked for, granted I didn't take the time to really study our needs then as that take a long time but here's a list of guys at the same position (with the exception of 2006 when reversed DT/S) that could have taken instead of who we did who've shown to be better players. The sad part is almost all of them were drafted in the same rounds as the guys we took but a few picks later.
WE TOOK WE PASSED ON
2002 1 MIKE WILLIAMS T BRYANT MCKINNIE T
2 JOSH REED WR ANTONIO BRYANT WR
2003 1 WILLIS MCGAHEE RB LARRY JOHNSON RB (not really a need but a better RB selected in same round)
2 CHRIS KELSAY DE OSI UMENYIORA DE
2004 1 LEE EVANS WR NO WR BETTER
2 JP LOSMAN QB MATT SCHAUB QB* (Taken in Round 3)
2005 2 ROSCOE PARRISH WR VINCENT JACKSON WR
2006 1 DONTE WHITNER S HALOTI NGATA/BRODRICK BUNKLEY DT
1 JOHN MCCARGO DT ROMAN HARPER S (Taken on Round 2)
2007 1 MARSHAWN LYNCH RB NO RB BETTER
2 PAULPOSLUSZNY LB DAVID HARRIS LB (Taken in Round 2)
2008 1 LEODIS MCKELVIN CB DOMINIQUE-RODGERS CROMARTIE CB
2 JAMES HARDY WR DESEAN JACKSON WR
2009 1 AARON MAYBIN DE BRIAN ORAKPO DE
