1. If you eat whole platefuls, yes. Arteries will be clogged and shut in no time. A quarter of a plate of fettucini alfredo, with some antipasto (light on the parmesan) some bread other than garlic toast,  a splash of marinara sauce, and a half a cup of ricotta will fill ya up and leave room for a small dish of  Italian ice cream  (the Italians make the world's best, IMO).

I generally only have it when go out to eat which is usually a handful of times throughout the year. As I don't make it myself nor do I find the frozen versions that tasty (though a few years ago Stouffers had a good version but thanks to my health they changed the recipe and I don't like it as much).

Back to when I go out, I rarely finish the plate in one sitting, I usually end up taking it home and finishing it off around midnight or take it to work for lunch the next day. In terms of the rest of the meal, I'm not big on antipasto salad (I prefer my pasta warm though do enjoy Greek bowtie salad on occasion), I generally get a ceasar salad with some bread and my dessert of choice is cheesecake.

  2. I think he started one with the Bears, and one with the Bills...both losses!

    286443

Correct, We all know about his playoff to Miami with us. Going back to 1986 he lost with the Bears according to http://www.bearshistory.com/seasons/1986.html

The Bears entered the playoff game as heavy favorites. During the bye week before the game, the whole world wondered who Mike Ditka would choose to start at QB. Would he go with the experienced but unimpressive Mike Tomczak or Steve Fuller, or the newbie Flutie? In a move that divided the team, Ditka chose Flutie.

Chicago began the game against the Redskins by scoring an early Flutie to Gualt TD pass, and went up 7-0. It was all downhill after that, however, and Chicago lost 27-13. The city was in depression, but felt the dynasty would still be alive in '87.

  3. I think the greatest incentive to trade for Henry is that it will free up their first round selection to improve their dismal Defense (most notably, their CBs).  If they dont do the trade, they'll be forced to take a RB and neglect their Defense yet again.  Or they could get Henry without losing an offensive starter, draft a player like Antrel Rolle or another stud CB and get better all around.

Just makes sense to me...but these are the Cards we are talking about here...lets hope they finally see the light.

    284990

If the top 3 RBs are off the board when the Cards only then could I see them swapping for Henry, as I have a feeling they like those 3 RBs more then Henry right now and that's why we haven't seen a trade.

  4. But the choice of Alex Smith in the 2nd is an excellent one.....

    285217

I'm not so sure we'd take a TE so high with Euhus still looking to prove himself. To me if Baas and Brown off the board I take a CB in Round 2 as could see someone like Corey Webster and/or Antonio Perkins and feel both could be great nickel CBs as rookies and potential replacements for Clements in 2005. In Rnd 3 I'd take the best available athlete but would look closely at O-line. After that fill the holes at backup RB (assuming Henry traded), DE depth and then best available athletes.

  5. I don't know for sure.  I am not a draft expert like some.  I honestly thought he was a center or projected to be one in the pro's.

    285214

He played most of his NCAA career at LG until he switched to center this past season and has shown he can play both positions well. If I were drafting him it be at LG inpart we're going to have a "rookie QB" adding a rookie Center to that could prove some disasterous results.

  6. Scenario 1:

Bills and Arizona trade TH for Shelton and second round swap.

    Bills draft at #44.

Most mocks have very few OL at #44, so TD trades down, picking up a 4th Rounder to pick later in RD#2.

RD#2 - Alex Smith, TE, Stanford

    RD#3 - 87.Jason Brown, C, North Carolina

RD#4 - Darren Sproles, RB Kansas

    RD#4 - Chris Kemoeatu, G, Utah

RD#5 - Antohny Bryant, DT, Alabama

    285171

I don't see Kemoeatu falling to the 4th Round, he's argueably the 3rd best OG behind Baas and Brown, I suspect he'd be taken in the mid 3rd. Though I'm not a fan because of his attitude problems and his size. As if reports of him playing at 344# are true e could be another Bennie Anderson. Personally if we're waiting until the 4th to take an OG I think Dan Buenning is the perfect choice.

  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=nfl&id=2019982

Stokes, who was signed in March 2004 to a five-year, $4.5 million contract that included a $1.2 million signing bonus, missed the final three preseason games with what was termed a pulled muscle in his buttocks. ( Can't confirm whether he actually had surgery, as the press release stated above )  In making the IR roster move, the Giants said Stokes has a back problem. Didn't play in 2004. Today, he was cut.

Started at Left Guard in 2002 for Cleveland, then was their starting LT in 2003.

    Age 31  6-4 310.

    285172

Reading his Bio at NFLplayers.com he sounds like a career backup/spot starter ala Corbin Lacina. In looking at his stats he did far better at LG then LT, as in 2002 he gave up 4.5 sacks in 16 starts compared to 7.5 in 13 starts in 13 games.

  8. Why?

    281141

crazyDingo Let me just say I'm glad someone understood what I meant back there at first thought fell on deaf ears.

In terms of why the walkie talkies, according to http://www.classicsondvd.com/et.htm Spielberg claims that the idea of the agents chasing the kids with guns bothered him but agree with the writer who quipped What I find absurd is the idea that federal agents would chase what they believe is a hostile life form with walkie-talkies.

  9. Because we already have our first rounder (JPL), I don't think TD will be making as many sacrifices this year in order to move up.

I do like the idea of having a rookie at Guard as opposed to Center or LT. There are tons of good OG's available in the 2nd-3rd Rounds:

    Guards

No sense getting married to just one of them just because we haven't seen the workouts or game tapes on each.

    281400

I agree as to me the two most important positions on the O-line are LT followed by Center. Followed by RT and then either OG position. In a perfect world on draft day we'll end up trading Henry for LJ Shelton and land a quality OG on day 1 of the draft (Evan Mathis should be there where we pick in Rnd 2). Although there might be a few better athletes with our top pick which makes me think we'll go OG a little later in the draft and keep going back to Dan Buenning, who looks more like a 4th Round pick but to me reads as the type of McNally likes.

  10. I think he might be the only person I wouldnt mind trading up for in Round 2 to get.  He would be a staple on our O-Line for years...easily the most NFL ready Guard in the Draft.

    281368

I like Baas as much as anyone on the board. Infact back in 2001 I was calling for us to take Hutchinson and many felt taking an OG so high was foolish. Infact this might be why we haven't seen Henry moved, as we might end up packaging Henry and a pick to possibly move up into the 1st to get a guy like Baas. As we might be able to offer Henry and our 2nd to a team like Seattle or Indy (if they move their franchise backs) for their 1st.

  11. When Flutie was with the Bills, whenever Flutie-haters called Flutie a "cancer in the locker room", Flutie-backers always refuted it. But Flutie-haters insisted that they would hold to their opinion until someone from INSIDE the locker room refuted it.

Despite the fact that, on previous occasions,  Steve Christie, Eric Moulds, Ruben Brown, etc., have publicly refuted the "cancer in the locker room" tag, Flutie-haters still insist upon it.

Now with even more proof of Flutie's team value, as per A.J. Smith's quotes, the Flutie-haters still insist on spewing their venom.

It's time to give credit where credit is due!

Flutie was one of the most exciting players to ever wear a Bills uniform. :w00t:

    280757

Exciting yes, but I still hate him, maybe I should rebuild the Flutie Haters website. Need I remind people of the Bucky Gleason article about Doug Flutie?

  12. Wire and Burns are back strictly for their ST's abilities and remotely for their backup abilities.  Frankly I'd rather the Bills signed Alex Bannister and kept him as a 6th WR than Burns.

    280598

Why do we need a 6th WR? Our 3, 4 & 5 guys rarely saw action as it was. While I don't like Burns as a RB/FB I think he'd see the field more than Bannister.

  13. don't forget no hockey :w00t:

    280390

While there's no NHL, there is the AHL and the Rochester Amerks have been great thus far which means when the NHL does return the Sabres might have a bright future in the form(s) of Ryan Miller, Derek Roy, Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville.

  14. first off, hi everyone.

2nd I just check the sporting news draft site and they have him (Adam terry, SU) ranked 12th at tackle, he has been up and down all year on draft boards, mostly in the first round, being an SU fan and watching him, he was the only brite spot on that team, he is a strong athlete and gives his all every play, and has quite the mean streak in him.  and is 6'8" 330 not bad size and would without question be worth a 2nd rounder.  He is the type of player McNally could turn into a pro bowler

    280333

From the reports I read Terry struggled in pass protection at the Sr Bowl which brought his stock down. I haven't looked at the TSN mag yet but if he's ranked that low I doubt he'd be taken in the 2nd.

  15. That commercial makes me almost as ill as actually eating a Bacon Cheddar Ranch.  Hearing Hootie ripping off that "Big Rock Candy Mountain" song blows.

    280332

Annoying song yes but the mute button on the remote helps when checking out the eye candy as aside from Brooke Burke there's a few unknowns that look pretty tasty in that commercial. And no I don't mean Darius Rucker before anyone posts it.

  16. There has been a rumor that there will be a Star Wars series on TV. It will take place in the time after Episode 6. I have read that Kevin Smith (clerks, dogma, mallrats) and Mark Hamill are expected to be involved.

    280311

Just as long as he doesn't bring Ben Affleck around. As much as I enjoy Kevin Smith's movies, I can't stand that he keeps bringing Affleck back!!!!!!!!!!
