Puttin' on the Ritz by Taco. but seriously I Love Rock 'n' Roll by Joan Jett. Everytime I hear it I just have to sing along.

According to Stats Inc profile Raiola is only credited to allowing .75 sacks over the past two years and 2.50 total over the past four years. In comparison Trey Teague has given up 5.50 over the past three seasons (with 5 coming in 2002, .50 in 2003 and 0 this past season). While sacks are not the only stat to measure an O-lineman on Teague does offer better size at 6-5 300 vs Raiola's 6-1 295. Also of note as a LT with Denver Teague gave up 11.25 sacks, which should end any thoughts of signing Raiola and shifting Teague to LT. Although thoughts of moving Teague to LG and bringing in Raiola to man the middle might be considered however I'm not one for shifting lineman.

Are you referring to an Opie and Anthony WoW?

Apparently you missed Super Bowl XXI, Simms had one of the best performances ever by a QB. 22/25 268 3 TDs 0 INTs and toss in 25 yards on 3 carries.
While I don't think Simmis is a HOFer and feel Kelly was a better QB; I have questions about Kelly being in the HOF.

They didn't think he was finished, he was hurt in the second to last preseason game and was expected to miss some of the early schedule. The team wanted to place him on IR in order to keep him for the season after. Christie didn't want to miss the entire season so decided to reach an injury settlement and let himself shop his wares when he was available. In retrospect the biggest mistake was not letting him go but not keeping his second replacement, (Shayne Graham) now with Cinncinatti and one of the most accurate kickers in the entire league.
Another note, Martin Gramatica might also be available as doubt he'd want to stuck with the Colts as a kick off specialist after this season as am sure some team (including us) might want to bring him into camp to compete for the regular kicking job.

Drummond deserves the nod, he was 2nd in the NFL 26.6 yards per KO return whereas McGee was 3rd and averaged 26.3. Drummond also lead the NFL in Punt return average with 13.2 per punt return and had a 2 KOs returned for TDs and 2 Punt returns for TDs and only played in 11 games this season.

One good thing coming out of Texas' success this year is that it should stop any talk of Jerry Gray ending up there next year. As I hate to lose Gray but think if he can lead this defense to a top 5 finish next year he could be an NFL head coaching candidate in 2006.

As I put in the top players section
He definately has first round talent but think he will fall in the draft. If had to compare his style of play in the NFL it would be Aaron Brooks, great package but just unable to put it all together. As Campbell's not accurate and at times take a bad sack. There were also some questions about his leadership coming into this season but am sure were somewhat erased in guiding the Tigers to an undefeated season this year. I suspect he'll be a 3rd or 4th Round selection but if has a strong Senior Bowl might be able to sneak into the 2nd Round. -
The QB is a senior. His name is Jason Campbell. He definately has first round talent but think he will fall in the draft. No O-line prospects I can think of off hand of course maybe I'm wary of taking Auburn O-line since that's where we got Pucillo from.

There's definately talk Hopkins could be a cap casuality, if he's available he's certainly on my short list in terms of replacements if we lose Jennings. I would probably rank Whitfield higher then Hopkins but think either one would be a good one or two year answer at LT.
-
I could Barron going as high as #3 if the Browns actually try to fix their O-line. I wouldn't mind contributing to the Draft Forum but I do contribute to another site (which will remain nameless) on a semi regular basis.

To answer some questions:
Terry projects to be a mid to late 1st Round pick right now.
Tait indeed signed with the Bears last year.
Finally, Here's a link to the 2005 Free Agent OTs
-
Kiper's list is a good starting point. The 49ers have quite a few needs and it's tough to say where they'd go. If they lose Julian Peterson in free agency Derrick Johnson from Texas might be the pick but I don't see him worthy of the top pick, he's more of a top 10 prospect. They also need a WR and Mike Williams or Braylon Edwards would definately are considered top 10 and maybe even top 5 material. Their O-line is also a mess OTs Alex Barron and Jamaal Brown are the top two OTs in the draft but again there's questions if either be worth the top pick. CB ANtrelle Rolle fits a need but again is a CB worth taking 1st overall? With all that said I think, if he declares, underclassman DE Mathias Kiwanuka might be the best fit for the top pick. He's got size, speed and the skills to be another Jevon Kearse.
RBs Cedric Benson and/or Carnell Williams definately deserve top pick consideration as well but the 49ers don't need a RB.
-
I think Krumrie would definately be worth considering. Yet the name I'm thinking of might not be the best candidate but to me the most obvious would be Jim Haslett. While his defenses in New Orleans have a lot to be desired he fits in other ways. As I'm pretty sure he and Mularkey coached with one another in Pittsburgh and he has the obvious Buffalo connection.
-
Jennings, as he's younger and at a harder position to fill.
-
Looking over the free agent to be list, there isn't much there at OT. Aside from Jennings the best OT on the market might be Kareem McKenzie of the Jets but he's a RT. Although they're listed, I don't count Walter Jones or Orlando Pace as viable options as have no reason to believe that they will not be franchised by their respective teams. Unless the Seahawks choose to franchise Shaun Alexander (Hasselbeck is due to be an UFA too but don't see him worthy of the tag).
I posted more thoughts on this topic in another thread.

I know the draft is months away but I have already started some homework. As things stand right now, one name that could be the first Bill drafted could be OL Nick Kaczur out of Toledo. While many are projecting him to play RT in the NFL, I suspect the Bills would draft him and move him to LG then taking an actual G prospect unless David Baas some how fell to us. As the best G I would predict be available to the Bills would be LG Dan Buenning out of Wisconsin. Buenning's more of a workman like lineman and think Kaczur offers more upside because he is a better athlete.
Not only that but Donahoe has shown with Trey Teague and Marques Sullivan, he has no qualms bringing in OTs and have them move to other positions. I think the idea of moving Teague to LT is a bad one. While he played there with Denver, he wasn't particular good there and there's a reason we shifted him to Center when we signed him. Of course if Jonas Jennings is lost there is an outside change that BIG Mike could be shifted to LT (which I wouldn't advise either) we could then use Kaczur at RT and keep Tucker at LG or a free agent signing (Cosey Coleman of TB be nice). As the roster plays out now Tucker is our best answer at LG but I personally think Tucker is best used as a guy off the bench then a full time starter.
To recap here's how I'd like the O-line to look:
LT Jonas Jennings
LG Cosey Coleman
C Trey Teague
RG Chris V
RT Mike Williams
Here's my second choice:
LT Jonas Jennings
LG David Baas
C Trey Teague
RG Chris V
RT Mike Williams
Here's how I think it will look:
LT Bob Whitfield (temporary solution if Jennings can't be re-signed).
LG Nick Kaczur
C Trey Teague
RG Chris V
RT Mike Williams

It seems like many have focused on the drafting of refocused on JP Losman now that the season is over. Though I'm surprised so many forgot that we tried to sign Billy Volek. He played in 10 games with Titans and stats looked better then Bledsoe but he was often playing from behind and I know it can be hard to really guess how a change of scenario would have changed things. Yet since many are playing what If. I thought I bring up What IF we signed Billy Volek instead? questions would be would Bledsoe been benched after the slow start? Do we still fail to make the playoffs? Who would have we drafted with our 2nd and 5th round picks we gave up for Losman? Overall Thoughts?
-
If you want to use 20/20 hindsight then you're better off suggesting we should have never cut Shayne Graham. As Graham has made 75% of his field goal attempts over 40 yards in his career and has an overall rate of 82.9%. That said Lindell alone can not be faulted for the loss Sunday. The defense, offense and return units can also be blamed for the lost. As Clements fumble in the early going hurt, Bledsoe's Int proved costly, as did Shaud Williams' inability to pick up a key first down on a 3rd and one, and the defense overall struggles in containing Vernon Hayes all contribited tothe loss as well as Lindell's missed field goal.
-
You make some very good points there. I certainly hope Losman is no Mike Tomzcak.
On the other hand, is there really any GM that is an ace at picking QBs? You look around the league and most teams share a similar story...teams that are able to find a great QB typically have trouble finding a replacement after he retires/departs. I can't immediately think of any team that has had back to back success at the QB position...perhaps SF w/ Montana, Young, Garcia.
Ron Wolf has quite the track record. Wolf was the key reason the Packers traded for Brett Favre. He also drafted Ty Detmer, Mark Brunell, Matt Hasselbeck and Aaron Brooks. I think he also had Kurt Warner in camp with the Packers briefly before he got his chance in St Louis.
-
Another option is we could of signed Jeff Blake and not lost the draft pick used to acquire Bledsoe. Of course no telling whether Price would have flourished as he did so maybe we don't get Atlanta's pick. Which would give us the 14th pick in the draft instead of the 23rd and the question is would we have taken McGahee, traded down or taken a DE like Michael Haynes?
-
I think Price and Tucker make adequate depth on the O-line but neither should be called upon to serve more then 2-3 games in a row but what concerns me is lack of a young guy or two that can come off the bench and develop into a starter. The problem I see is we lack a starting LG and on the whole our starters are average at best line which might not be good enough for Drew. One thing the Steelers that we do lack is a a strong blocking TE. Although I think that Cush guy from Steelers is a due to be an UFA and definately worth looking at as a blocking/3rd string guy.
-
I can't root for an AFC team as it just sicken me all off season wondering if it could of been the Bills. So I'll go with Green Bay because it would let Brett Favre go out on top. I almost said Seattle but then remembered Jerry Rice was with them and call me crazy but to me he's become a whiner in his old age and one of my least favorite players in the league now.
OT: Kate Bosworth to be Lois Lane

According to this Lily dropped out of the running due to Lost. Bosworth is a poor choice due to being a blonde, Katie Holmes might have been a better pick.
