  1. Thanks Chaos. I'm not sure how much we can glean from this in evaluating the coaches, especially those with less experience, but it's interesting nonetheless. It would appear that a ratio of around 1.0 is the baseline for "success" and maintaining your job after a few years.
  2. Welp, this moron is officially dead to me now.
  3. (EDIT: DISREGARD - I see them on PFR) Hey CB, where do you get the snap percentage stats? I see them posted here from time to time and would love to be able to geek out on those sometime.
  4. Yep. His best game and he dropped a very catchable pass or he would have gone over 100 yards on the day. But I agree, he's only seen 16 total targets on the season, so I'm not worried about his catch or drop percentage at this point.
  5. By all accounts, Shakir is a bright, hardworking, high character guy, so I think you can throw out the two questions you've posited above. I think it's just an issue of him being a rook and this staff being notoriously slow in bringing along rookies and giving them opportunities. Many here thought Cook was "lacking passion" or in the "doghouse" for some reason, but that clearly seems to be false. The staff just really has to trust a guy before trotting him out there in anything other than an emergency situation (which is why Shakir saw extended opportunities in the games you mention.)
  6. I'm sure it's been said 100+ times already, but, holy hell, Amazon got stuck with some truly atrocious games. It's like a greatest hits of awful football. Sound seems fine to me. No technical issues on my end either. There's only so much excitement you can conjure up for these horrible games.
  7. All true and I wasn't overly impressed with what he had done up to the point of his injury either. My hope was that he was still getting integrated into the offense and building chemistry with Josh and we would have seen that connection improve over the course of the season. Unfortunately, we never got the chance to see if that could have been the case. Regardless, we could use a reliable slot/zone soft spot finder in the playoffs, so I hope he's able to return. I expected Shakir to have grown into that role by now and he's looked good when the ball is thrown his way, but it just hasn't happened for whatever reason.
  8. I've won the Chili Con Carnival for 8 years and counting
  9. Yeah, lol, not to get into some type of vaccine fight, since i really don't care if people get flu vaxxed or not (I do every year since it's free at my work's fall health fair), but it's typically in the 40-60% effectiveness range depending on the year and strain. The vaccine can help, but there are obviously going to be many people who are going to catch the flu even if they are vaccinated, just as most people who remain unvaccinated will never catch the flu either.
  10. Probably just because they are ACL boys.
  11. That's why I don't grind up all of my cadavers and put them in the freezer. It's good keep a couple of them intact in case of medical emergency.
  12. But should teams be rewarded for playing in a crappy division that gifts them 5 or 6 wins every year? I'd be okay with it if there was a second bye, since it sort of protects against this situation.
  13. Yes. The single bye is absurd when you consider the uneven schedules and differences in strengths of divisions. If you're gonna do a bye system, I think you need to have at least 2 byes as we did under the old 6 team system. Not sure how to make that work unless you added another week of playoffs. Just spitballing, but maybe non-division winners (5-8) play for the right to meet the 3 and 4 seeds in the first divisional round. Every divisional winner gets at least a 1 week bye and the top 2 get two weeks off? Edit: But yes, I'd prefer an 8 team playoff with no bye.
  14. Alright, you two. Adult time. Time to let it go. LOL
  15. Yep. I liked the vid. Gotta stay positive for his teammates. Hope he comes back to Buffalo for his rehab through the rest of the season. I want that guy around the locker room as mush as possible.
  16. Anything is possible once you arm a guy with a scalpel and tell him to go to work on an unconscious person. I can't imagine this happens too frequently, if at all. But if it does, I would hope it's mostly to Phins and Pats players.
  17. If swelling is an issue, you often just can't see these type of tears in an initial MRI. It doesn't mean any incompetence or malpractice took place. Also, they went in to do this surgery as soon as it was prudent to do so after swelling receded. It didn't change his recovery timeline much, if at all.
  18. Sorry, man, you're right. I'm just freaking out a bit at the moment. LOL. Point remains, though, on the injury settlement. The Bills can't make him sign anything. Injury settlements are usually done as a courtesy to players down the roster food chain to hook them up with a bit of cash on their way out instead of flat out cutting them while also allowing the team to save some cap scratch.
  19. Lol. I think you're joking, right? At least I hope so.
  20. Why do you keep calling it a career ender? You have no clue, man. Also, why the hell would Von accept an injury settlement? Guy negotiated three years of guaranteed $$$, for a situation just like this. He'll rehab and return in mid-to-late 2023. The only real question we should be asking ourselves is how much will he have left in the tank when he's back on the field?
  21. AJ and Basham need to man the F up and bring it.
  22. Yep. We are now looking at another DE in the draft.
  23. I know this will change within a day or two, but I'm leaning into the "sky is falling" sentiment right now. It's not even about this year at this point, but the future and the cap. This f'ing sucks balls, man. My inner Hudson from Aliens is really taking over right now.
  24. That's a little misleading, since he does physically rest from 12am-6am. It's just that during this time he lies in a cryofreezing chamber with a VR headset that simulates every defensive play/formation throughout NFL history and tests him on making the correct reads.
  25. I guess, but don't we have top-5 units on both sides of the ball for 2 years running now? (Probably STs too, but I'm too lazy to find metrics on that). We had the no. 2 offense in the NFL in 2020 and our defense was more middle of the pack (10-15), so it made sense to invest in the D for the past couple of draft cycles. We still have the no. 2 offense in the league this year which you'd never know by reading all the b'ing on this board about our porous o-line, lack of outside WR weapons and slow "dime a dozen" running backs. McDermott is doing a HELL OF A JOB by almost any measure. Once he makes and wins a SB, which I believe he will, he'll be on the fast track for the HOF along with Allen and Diggs.
