  1. The NFL is not college football, and the comparison is weak. The NFL has 32 teams split across 2 conferences in 8 total divisions. Everybody plays the exact same number of games. There is no way to expand the league unless a vote is taken by owners of the current NFL teams. The NFL controls everything: scheduling, creation of conferences/divisions, etc... College football at the FBS level has 130 teams across 10 conferences and some independents. About 3 years ago, there were 128. Not everybody plays the same number of games. (ND only played 12 games, but everybody else in the playoffs played 13). Any college program can be classified as an FBS level team, as long as the meet the NCAA requirements. The other schools have ZERO say in this. This year there are 130 FBS teams. Theoretically, there could be 135 next year, 140 the year after, etc.... At any point, independents could come together to create another conference. Current conferences can shift, as we saw this past decade. Other than player eligibility, all control is handled by the individual schools and/conferences until the post season. Independents have to generate their own schedule. Conferences dictate inter-conference play, and get to decide if the conference will even have a championship game. There is no requirement to have one. There is no way to make a "fair" playoff system in the FBS when the system itself is fluid and chaotic to begin with.
  2. ROLL TIDE!!! One of UGA best games, and one of UA bad games. The good guys still won. 4 weeks to get healthy.
  3. Danielson is not nearly as biased as people try to paint him to be. Whoever he perceives is doing well is who he will talk up. My biggest issue with him is, at times, he will latch onto something, and will not let go.
  4. Awesome article. How Nick Saban Revived Bama Lots of nuggets of info. Everybody thinks Saban is this overbearing unhappy person. Does this sound like that person? "Saban, every Thursday, would receive reports from professors, via athletic department intermediaries, about his players’ performance in class. This particular report, former players recall, contained worrying feedback. Some had been letting their pants sag. Saban deemed it disrespectful. So he put the question to his team: You think it’s cool to have your butts all out of your shorts? … Well, do I look cool? And down his own pants went. The room burst into laughter."
  5. A dark time for the ND faithful. A star LB with a fake GF, and being pummeled by Bama in the NC. I almost feel bad for them. Almost.
  6. Bama in a defensive struggle.
  7. LSU @ Texas A&M went 7 OT, and not for a lack of scoring. Tigers - 72 Aggies - 74
  8. Another Iron Bowl in the history books. ROLL TIDE ROLL!
  9. Not only can Jonah Williams can play tackle, he can cook. http://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/25232432/as-thanksgiving-approaches-alabama-crimson-tide-ot-jonah-williams-cooking-field-kitchen
  10. Les and LSU came to a buyout agreement. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/25287110/lsu-tigers-les-miles-reach-15-million-buyout-agreement He's going somewhere. He's also 65, and that part of the country is devoid of football talent. That's going to be one tough row to hoe. I like the guy, and wish him luck.
  11. Oh, god, I hope not. He has way more baggage than Kiffin, and, in IMO, no way near the offensive aptitude. That's the big rumor.
  12. That youtuber is great. I get mice in my garage on a regular basis, especially now with winter coming. For that area, I have found nothing beats a bucket trap. If the mouse is in the house, spend some time looking for how they got in, and closing it off. Otherwise, you could end up getting more.
  13. Looks like Auburn can finally get Petrino as their HC. Oh wait. There is that pesky $32M buyout from Malzahn's contract.
  14. Roll Tide! Weird game, but I'll take the win. Bama offense never got into a sync, and MSU had too many "WTF are they doing" moments. The Bama 49 yard FG was stunning... I was stunned they actually made a FG.
  15. If Tua continues to play at this level and/or continues to develop during this season and next, IMHO, Tua has the potential to be the consensus overall 1st pick in 2020. At the very least, he's a first rounder. He has all the physical attributes (accuracy, arm strength, vision, anticipation, pocket presence, etc...) and all the mental attributes (pre-snap reads, decision making, leadeship, etc ...) that an NFL franchise could want in a QB. The only thing he is lacking right now is experience. If you are looking for a good non-biased (homer) assessment of Tua passing, I recommend this guy: Matt Wyatt He is a former a Miss St QB, and presently an analyst for Miss St. He broke down all of Tua's throws from 2017, and he has done some here and there from this season. He speaks very highly of Tua, and during an interview this year, said Tua had the best anticipation of any QB in college this year.
  16. Have you ever tried roasting your own? Sweet Maria's offer trail/sample packages of 4-1lb bags for about $20. They even have one for espresso: https://www.sweetmarias.com/green-coffee-sample-set-espresso.html I will also recommend Peets, either the Italian Roast or the Major Dickinson's.
  17. So, the SEC is over rated, the ACC is over rated, the BIG10 in under rated, and it's the ACC's fault. Reality check. Klatt has argued for using 2-3 different committees. If he has a problem with confirmation bias and influential bias, how does adding more committees eliminate that?
  18. Every system is flawed. Every argument is flawed. Even yours. Let's start with: "If I ran things I'd have every conference champion in the playoffs plus one will card. 8 teams." 5 P5 conferences + 5 G5 conferences = 10 teams 1 wild card Basic math: 10+1 = 11. Try again.
  19. Roll Tide Roll! SEC West Division winner. A great game. Old school Bama ball. A punishing running game, and a suffocating D. Quinnen Williams was an absolute monster out there.
  20. Here is rundown of coaches since Fulmer: Lane Kiffin - 2009. Lasted one year. Bolted for the USC gig as soon as it opened. Vol fans went into mob mode. Derek Dooley - 2010-2012. He didn't make it through the 2012 before he was fired. 3 straight losing seasons. Butch Jones - 2013-2017 was canned during the 2017 season after going 4-6 overall, and 0-6 in the SEC. Irony: After the 2017 season, Bama hired Jones as an offensive analyst. And yes, he did smoke a cigar after Bama beat Tenn this year. Vol fans were not happy.
  21. I agree Tenn should have not gotten rid of Phat Phil. It would have been fun watching Saban crush him year after year after year. As for the coach, that would be Jeremy Pruitt, Bama's DC last year.
  22. 1992 Bills - For obvious reasons Buff Bandits - MILL Champs Bama - CFB National Champs (Teague running down the Miami player and stripping the ball is still a great memory)
