  1. we paid Percy Harding how much?! We signed two street free agents in hunter and Tate, and gave valuable snaps to some guy named Walt Powell... oh, and Goodwin still sucks... our hogan replacement was hurt all year in salas But yeah, we don't need hogan... and Whaley deserves no blame for 7-9.
  2. Sanu got 6.5 AAV last year. I think woods is better, and by sheer % of cap with a cap increase he should get more than him. I'd try to keep him at 6.5, but not at 8. I feel like Tavon Austin's contract throws off the market a bit too, so he might grab a few extra mil right off of that.
  3. Amendola could be a nice addition if he's released. Whaley seems to covet size, so britt or quick could be in the mix. I always like terrance williams in Dallas. Garcon's always been a solid secondary piece who blocks well. Smaller guys? Ginn or Wright could be interesting. On the cheaper end - maybe brice butler? Bring back Hunter and tate? Depends what you're looking for in a receiver.
  4. That's the rumor thats floating around now. That we'll take someone in the first 2 rounds. If we don't add a FA or Romo... it's even more likely that we're drafting one at 10.
  5. I don't think he's good enough in coverage to hang with a lot of the elite TE's in the league, but I think he has some abilities as an edge rusher that might translate to the sam spot. He's a prototypical mike though, he attacks his gaps and hits hard. Honestly it's not a bad problem to have a guy who might fit both. I think his intangibles will translate to what the coaches want to see out of their mike.
  6. Pretty much - would not trade a starting Mike we just drafted for safety help. Doesn't make sense to me.
  7. I think he can probably play Mike, but i'd agree he's better suited to the SAM. He has some edge rushing ability, and would fit nicely next to Shaq lawson. But part of me thinks Ragland making checks and calls would be better than brown, as he was a starting Mike on the best defense in college. So part of me would rather sacrifice some speed/pass rush ability for stronger communication. Ragland also attacks his gaps well and thumps people. New coach/new slate though - so i trust them to find a good spot for him.
  8. He's a UFA after this year - so i'd think if you project a large unaffordable raise you can justify it. IE what the patriots did with chandler jones and jamie collins. But when you see what they acquired for pro bowlers, you realize you might not get much in a trade for a preston brown so it's pointless
  9. Lets get rid of a projected STARTER, at a position with like no depth, who's under a cheap contract for 3 more years, who we traded assets to acquire... for someone who runs a faster 40 or something...
  10. That and he has a hitch in his delivery (like bortles)... Oh and you guys complain about TT missing open receivers. Put on a wentz tape and tell me what you see.... but ooooh hes a rookie! so its ok!
  11. We'd be on the hook for the option bonus but it'd accelerate to this years cap. We would not be responsible for the 2017 base salary guarantee however.
  12. I dunno - why should he? If he walks he'll still get paid pretty handsomely. He'd be the top option on the open market, and is still young. Cousins probably isn't available. Romo requires a trade - so pieces have to move. Brees/Rivers aren't likely to happen. And there are many teams looking for upgrades. SF BUF LAR JAX HOU NYJ DEN CLE ZONA CHI
  13. Great job - now do all the other teams in the league and give me a "real PPG value" so we can compare. Until then this means absolutely nothing.
  14. I feel like we should actually score more in garbage time - but we had playcalls that prohibited us from doing so.
  15. They're losing fewer players than us... but they have to pay some impact guys. Hightower, sheard, long, Bennett, Branch, blount, and ryan are all UFA. Vollmer is probably gone too. Thats 7 starters... I know they like to plug and play --- see trading collins and chandler jones. But I think they'll hang on to at least a few of them. Butler is also a RFA - so not sure how they'll handle that situation.
  16. Woof. Sounds like 3-13.... His teams have won 2 of his last 22 starts. 29 TDs and 22 INTs over that 3 season span.
  17. They've been patching holes since rex year 2. They have some talent at WR, solid yet unspectacular RBs. They just have such an old secondary - and are in need of a pair of new corners.
  18. Sounds more entertaining than the product they put on the field
  19. What about the Browns...? I think theyd have a say
  20. Most "pundits" have pegged us as a bottom 3rd team for these reasons. We have a tough schedule for next season, and performed terribly within the division. I personally look at Miami and NYJ and don't see them as particularly good teams. Going 0-4 against them is the difference between 7-9/Pick 10, and playoffs. As a fan of the team, I know we have the ability to be better than that bottom 3rd team. There is talent on the team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Rex did not have the team performing up to their capabilities, and it showed. If the Offensive staff feels they can continue to build a solid offense, and the defense can get back to stopping people - there's a chance we can improve. We play a few of our tougher opponents at home (denver, oakland, TB, NO), and its traditionally a tough place to play. If that same staff feels that the offense will be poor under Tyrod, then they'll look to replace him and go full on rebuild.
  21. I believe he'll be getting at least a game for the DUI too. After trotting out Boom herron, boobie dixon, Bryce brown, and tashard choice... I still can't understand when people say RBs are a dime a dozen.
  22. I ignore him.. but its still annoying seeing him hijack every thread.
  23. If you value the depth he provides, you slap a 2nd round tender on him. The RFAs don't inspire me a lot. Id keep Groy and Thomas around. I guess tender Schmidt, but he's not very good. Ola is on his what, 8th team?
  24. They say the rule is if its within 1 yard - but theres also the incredibly subjective (Driving through a defender who has established a position on the field. ) which is the grey area that they do a great job occupying. If i'm moving is that an "established" position? Who knows... its not defined. So they run their routes into defenders (other teams do this stuff too), with the sole purpose of incidentally running into them. It's kind of legal, because the OPI rules are so undefined. I personally hate those plays as its kinda cheap - but it is currently within the rules. Defenses already have like so many disadvantages in coverage, and you're essentially saying if you make it look like you're not blocking - its ok.
