  1. The play design has him looking right...
  2. Yuck. All day and every run was successful
  3. ... He broke his foot and injured his ankle already this year. I like him as a player, considering half the board was talking about cutting this guy before him ever seeing the field i don't think im wrong here.
  4. I feel ya - its not like he's going to be the reason we win this game.. I just get nervous of a gameplan that can get thrown out with a kroft ankle injury or something like that.
  5. They completely ignored the jet action receiver because they never hand him the ball, that was one of the main takeaways that I remembered. The switch calls were genius though, like - look at the play clock as soon as it hits X, run into position to blitz, switch to a single high safety look, crowd the LOS etc.. Either way, saints should've been there last year.. and probably would've won.
  6. Kroft hasn't proven an ability to stay healthy and smith is still a better option than sweeney.
  7. Yeah - He played less in this game as they made a commitment to running. Used more TEs etc.
  8. With Denver's QB situation you're looking at a strategy similar to that of Washington. I think we're going to pound the rock that game a lot... In a game where you think the other team is likely incapable of big plays and execution in the red zone it makes somewhat of sense.
  9. Cleveland i think the keys controlling the clock - and NOT shooting themselves in the foot with penalties/turnovers whatever... move the ball - get points. If they do that well they should do fine. Denver the key is getting on them early. Do what you need to do to score 20+ points against a pretty good defense. They're 0-4 when the opponent scores 20. They've lost 3 games by 3 points or less... so this isn't a bad 3-6 team - if anything its a good 3-6 team in need of a QB. Someone else said it earlier but the best way to stop chubb other than selling out? Just score a bunch of points ?
  10. The bears like averaged more than two takeaways a game... Unsustainable.
  11. They do this a lot already. The deep shots are really called because it creates a hi/lo read that is super quick, you know right off the bat whether you have the throw or not - and if you don't you know where else to go with the ball.
  12. I think it does. He's still completing 65% of passes at about a 200 YPG clip... and adding 80 per game on the ground. He's a dynamic playmaker, who plays QB. It's just different. His numbers will never match up with other QBs - and that's OK. They're winning games, and scoring points.
  13. Have to agree with you. His stat lines aren't going to line up all the time. His Miami game is the outlier - The 100 yard rushing games are probably more frequent than that.
  14. Yeah - Wentz had 170 yards passing the week before and maybe 2 completions that i remember that were down the field. They had a few good short passes that got lots of yardage. Stat line doesn't show that like all of his scrambles were first downs either.
  15. Trubisky did have a game last year where he went for 350 and 6 TDs. After that people put him in the conversation with Watson and Mahomes etc. I think there's a few factors... their defense isn't getting takeaways at a ridiculous rate like last year. They also haven't had much of a run game all season, and he seems to be running less as a QB which is basically killing their O. Doesn't seem like they are finding ways to get Cohen involved as much either.
  16. Raw passing numbers don't tell a whole story anyway. He put up that stat line.. in a losing effort... against the consensus worst team in football and worst defense in football. In 13 extra attempts Darnold threw for 1 more pick, 1 fewer TD and about 60 more yards against Miami...
  17. This is such a strange statement. Buffalo scored more points. Had a better 3rd down conversion rate, were better in the Red zone, better yards per completion, no picks, got sacked less... They ran it 39 times because they were winning basically the entire game.
  18. Or just don't run behind the center? Can also do toss plays out of goalline, or FB dives. Fosters been seeing work at gunner too, so they must feel good about some combo of McKenzie/Roberts/foster at WR. Is Duke fully healthy now?
  19. Well... Year 1 tyrod Taylor and Dennison didn't exactly set the world on fire. Year 2 we started like 5 QBs including multiple Peterman games. And year 3 only 2 teams have put up 20+.
  20. It looks like he's played 8 games and they don't want to use Taylor a ton at 1T
  21. Felt more like fitting their gaps and tackling better.
  22. I mean - Here's Wilson winning in 2012 14-12 on the "fail mary" (https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201209240sea.htm) with a cool 130 yards passing. FWIW Seattle's record through 8 games was 4-4, and they had a Point Diff of 6 points... I only bring this up because you state that Wilson plays "fun football" yet his development curve began with... "1960s Football"
  23. I don't think they need to see what they have in allen necessarily. There's a lot of guys on the team and they prepare for each game with the sole goal of winning. Do what it takes to win. I don't know if they "sheltered" him in that skins game, but it seemed like they felt like why bother passing at this point? The Redskins can't/won't score.
  24. I mean the last 2 games have been pretty windy... its not ideal situations for you to be flinging the ball around the field.
