  1. A lot of his big plays they showed in highlights were horrifyingly under thrown passes. He does look to have some nice recovery on crossing routes, and I'm sure he'll be solid. At the same time, Diggs has had success against literally every player in the NFL that they put into island man coverage. The route running in the NFL is ridiculous these days - Adams, Kupp, even beyond the super plus athletes and speed. "I look forward to the competition" "Should be a battle" "he's a great player"
  2. Yep. Lots of options on the table, but need a Klein replacement. Need someone to compete at guard. Tackle can come later to compete as well. A TE is going to be behind Knox and Howard so I don't know if they'll dress most of the time. WR will be behind diggs and Davis. So not a ton of snaps, but enough to impact. And who knows on running back.
  3. Uhhh have you watched them play? Anthony brown is a penalty machine.
  4. Clearly they had him a head above the rest as they felt they needed to jump dallas.
  5. I'm with you. He's big enough to not get absolutely trucked in the trenchs. He's definitely caught passes before so he's got some hands. He's huge so he'll be a big target, and he can move.
  6. Renfrow Adams and Waller all sort of patrol the same portions of the field. Waller is also not a particularly notable red zone threat - which is I think what buffalo needs more than a Waller type.
  7. Didn't he literally run off the field and take his uniform off? I assumed that was the end of the line - nobody wants a guy like that.
  8. Ok but - he had 3 starts last year at LG. Before that he had 0, with a couple of looks in finale games against the jets and dolphins. He's now the presumptive starter at RG, with like 0 experience at the position and a RT next to him who struggles at time in pass pro. He performed better than Boettger and Ford - is that the line we want to draw in the sand? He's better than bad? Did we run the backs THAT much better in the final 3 games of the year? I think we ran it more... often? But we weren't particularly effective at it. NE - 15 for 51 yards (22nd ranked rush defense) Atl - 28 for 149 yards (233 total with Allens yards, and this was the 27th ranked rush defense) NYJ - 24 for 96 yards (29th ranked rush defense)
  9. Yeah - they were bent over a barrel. County execs may as well resign if they fail though. Same with any of the local state legislature that tried to draw a line in the sand. Find a politician willing to lose their job for the good of their district. Income tax and other revenue will definitely help. I have no idea how much concessions and merchandise affect that number. I feel like legal sports gambling and marijuana will bring in a lot of extra tax revenue to offset it.
  10. Color me surprised that he was a pro bowler last year... He played 8 games! And started 3. He played 28 percent of snaps!! Honestly its probably worse than Allen getting snubbed. And don't quote me his PFF, he could be deion sanders but it doesn't matter if he barely played.
  11. I was in on interior line, but i sort of agree. I just don't want to wait too long either. I like the idea of a davis, but its just... so far down the list of things. How does that help us beat a KC, or Chargers? I think it helps against a patriots or colts but... the entire defensive line has changed Hate backs in the first - Hall has a lot of production which is fine... I just don't love it. LB is a sneaky need - but even with edmunds missing some time a year ago Klein only played 25% of snaps.
  12. Exactly! Don't go chasing waterfalls out there
  13. Oof - thats some andy dalton luck right there. In any case - Josh likely sees a better version of mac jones. Better playmakers across the board. I know last year NE was a heavy run team, but i think McDaniels will be adaptable and play to strengths as he's always done with NE - and this team will be annoying to play against as they'll just chip their way up the field.
  14. He finally made the playoffs in year 8. Thea team couldn't run the ball very well at all so most of the offense ran through him. Adams, Renfrow, Waller - i think they're going to pass even more this year too. Jacobs and Drake probably get more involved in a mcdaniels offense. I think it'll look a bit like the chargers with all the short passes, and carr is equipped to do well in that style of offense.
  15. I dont mind the 2 forward passes. It just moves those plays where the guy has to be behind the QB up, and you no longer have to judge whether he threw it forward or back, and you don't have to worry about fumbles. etc.
  16. How a microchip will determine down by contact, when a player gives themselves up, etc will be interesting.
  17. I think Big Ben got off light all things considered, it took a long time too but that was not today. That guy is going to get ruthlessly booed in every stadium, and i don't think there's a way for the NFL to change that narrative. There's a lot of people who "believe him" and "support him" but i dunno... I just feel like the vocal people in this situation are going to hate this guy til hes gone.
  18. Burrow has had some really great games - and has some really solid playmakers. But the sack rate will be high as he just doesn't have the elusiveness in the pocket that mahomes and allen have. Sacks are basically mini-turnovers. Watson holds the ball more than either, and a year off away from practice and coaches probably didn't help. He's a young Wilson in my eyes. Herbert has a cannon, and does make some great wow plays. But he also throws half of his targets to allen and ekeler on short passes. Mahomes and Allen are the ones most capable of just willing your team to victory, but also most capable of forcing passes.
  19. The chargers got favorable terms on their lease, and i believe they're locked in for quite some time.
  20. The issue isn't forging tickets - its selling paper tickets after you sold the electronic ticket. I had a lot of luck with the google/apple wallet. Transfer tickets to whomever needs them the day before, and everyone save it to your wallet.
  21. I'm not an apologist for moss or singletary or even the blocking schemes. Blocking execution was poor last year. The majority of Moss carries came in the first half of the year. I think he had a fairly major fumble as well. Breida got some playing time and was shown to be incapable as a blocker and also had ball security issues. Buffalo backs both ranked near the bottom (or the absolute bottom in Moss case) in yards before contact. There are over 1500 snaps with boettger ford and feliciano on the field, and all 3 were absolutely awful. Williams was much better at guard than tackle, but all 4 of them were absolute disasters at zone run blocking. There is no "vision" or "cutback" when the right guard just lets the backside pursuit hit them behind the LOS.
  22. Singletary has a few gripes - Drops and fumbles are the big 2. His YPC is always propped up on his ability to pull in some extra yards with shifty feet. He seemed to become a more positive player as a pass catcher as the year went on. I'm just putting numbers up regarding moss as a runner and pass-catcher simply because I think too often we hit a recency bias and don't acknowledge the entire season. It was a trend all year for most of the backs.
  23. So I looked at these numbers - i took out corners and safeties because its not a fair comparison. I took out small sample sizes of players who started fewer than 8 games. That gives you a baseline of 63 linebackers (a couple are hybrids). He's not among the top, nor bottom. He only had 59 targets for one, which is like 25th - so a few more incompletions and that number goes way down. The numbers to me show that 75% isn't really that bad - 48 of the 63 players had numbers higher than 70. Seems to come with the territory that playing MLB in the current era will give you a tough number there. Bobby Wagner, Denzel Perryman, and Devin White were pro bowlers and all had higher comp% allowed, gave up more yards, and were both targeted more than Edmunds. Good news! Matt Milanos 55.2% comp percentage allowed was the best in the NFL among linebackers. Bad news, his 11.3% missed tackle percentage was the 16th highest in the NFL.
  24. DS 50 targets, 40 catches (80% catch rate) for 228 yards or 5.7 yards per reception (4.56 yards per target) and 11 first downs. DS had an average depth of target of 0.2 with 6 Yards after catch per reception. Singletary had 5 drops and a 10% drop percentage. Singletary broke 4 tackles and had a 10% rate of broken tackles per reception. Moss 32 targets, 23 catches (71.9% catch rate) for 197 yards or 8.6 yards per recpetion (6.16 yards per target) and 12 first downs. Moss had an average depth of target of 0.8 with 8.7 yards after catch per reception. Moss had 3 drops and a 9.4% drop percentage. Moss broke 3 tackles and had an 11.5 percent rate of broken tackles per reception.
