Father Arrested in Slaying of Two Girls
rockpile replied to Frez's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of the reason why both parents work is for "more stuff". Two or three cars Cable, or satellite or whatever Multiple PCs in every room I could go on but won't since you get my drift. MOST families do not HAVE to have two parents work to merely survive; it's all the perks we think we need. I am as guilty as the next person - this is not to point fingers at anyone else. Just a thought. -
Father Arrested in Slaying of Two Girls

He said stay at home parents, not just Moms. -
Maybe not the greatest, but a classic was "Addicted to Love" by Robert Palmer. Weezer on the set of Happy Days was very cool, too!

I was not $15 curious.

Favorite Upstate Hot Dog Joint

Red Top it is! I moved from there while still in high school, so all I remember is the little red shack and great food. At Curt's he used to keep glass mugs in the freezer and made curly fries as you watched - whole raw potato to fryer. My first job was washing dishes at Foit's (which is now named something else) for $1.65 an hour! -
For a sampling, check out City Magazine I like the summer festivals, East End Festivals, Johnny's Irish Pub, Veneto's Pizza, Pommodoro's Restaurant, East Ave and Alexander area, Water Street Music Hall, the Public Market, Charlotte Pier, Little Theatre, Moonbeams, Dinosaur BBQ, Park Ave on a sunny lunch day, Rochester Amerk hockey, Red Wings baseball, the High Falls area, Milestones, free concerts at Manhattan Square Park (from Crash Test Dummies to Dickie Betts, to Taj Mahal), Bills Training Camp, and of course Nick Tahoes Garbage Plates.... Short trips to Letchworth Park, Finger Lakes wine trail, Watkins Glen Park or Raceway, Hamlin Beach, Canal Days in Brockport and Fairport, Niagara Falls, Turning Stone Casino, the Erie Canal bike path, canoeing, kayaking, water skiiing, jet skis on Irondequiot Bay, and cross country skiiing in Ellison Park. If I really get bored, I can make it from my driveway to the Lincoln Tunnel in 5 1/2 hours, Alex Bay or Toronto in about three hours. But other than that there really isn't sh-- to do in Rochester.

Back when I lived in Hamburg, we used to go to the Circle Stop (Circle Spot?) on route 5 near the Skyway Drive in. There was another place called Curt's Stop In near a pedestrian bridge across from Bethlehem Steel - the offices not the blast furnaces. Are either of those places still around? -
Only $14.95 on the Dish Network, right now! Do they bash each other? How naked are they? Is there a mud pit? Do they have midget tag teams? Has anyone actually watched this? Come on, admit it, somebody has answers to these questions! Gives new meaning to the term cocoa-butt!

Um, having lurked here since '99, he probably knows that. Louis has come out of the closet! Welcome.

Oh, those are terrible seats. If you already have them I will be glad to take the off your hands for, oh, $25 a game.

Good Buff News interview w/Ralphie
rockpile replied to Greg de'Ville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is why I said "money, politics, and greed". You are correct that if it was JUST money, it would be easy. Math is Math (at least in the non-theoretical world). -
Have to find a "super" Wegmans. I am sure someone local can help. They really are amazing; that was a popular stop for the out-of-towners at last year's Training Camp break. When is the last time you saw someone's jaw drop in awe upon entering a grocery store!? If you want to take a nice day trip, go to Letchworth Park, Grand Canyon of the East. It is a nice rural drive and the trees are all starting to bloom.

This type of candor, in the face of the new owners, players, fans, etc is probably one reason why RW is not in Canton. In the end, it is about money, politics and greed at the owner and NFLPA level. -
(LAMP)Any suggestions for a 40th B-day party?
rockpile replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is VERY important! If she does not like her gift, at least she is not returning a vacuum cleaner. No, be sure to have the party if she has ever cheated on you. Just be sure to leave a bloody horse head on her pillow. -

Is there a nearby park shelter you can rent for the day? You provide the main course - catered or the guys BBQ - and the drinks, then ask everyone to bring a dish to pass. I did this for my wife's Bday and it worked out well. Sent people down to put up streamers and baloons too. Have disposable "everything" so cleanup is filling trash bags. All the cleanup can be done together and none of the mess is in your house. People are always happy to help out and have a good time too! You can play horse shoes, softball, bocce, frisbee, kids can run amuck.... and if it rains the older folks have shelter, you can play cards or games, and the kids have mud. You can just sit in a chair in the sun or shade and drink beer, if you are not into "playing". Works well for my family! -

I was wondering when you would show up in this thread. -
A new NFL QB can always use a 6'6" TE with hands. In his 1st year with the Bills, Kelly often used Pete Metzelaars as his go to guy when the heat was on - because he could find him!

I am all in favor of screaming your guts out to cheer for your team and "friendly" banter (notice the quotation marks on friendly ) with the opposition's fans. That said, I almost stopped going to games a few years ago, because of all the food, drinks, snow balls, bottles, F bombs (imagine a staggering drunk screaming F-you at the top of his lungs 30 times and you see what I mean), and the inevitable 4th quarter fist fights all over the stands. Also I had times I got to my seat and almost got into fights with someone who was NOT supposed to IN MY SEATS and knew it, but would not leave until I got an usher. That said, I think those off duty cops should be taught a little tolerance. Being told to sit down for yelling at Pats fans is overkill, unless you were directly instigating a fight.

Better take "Mom" to brunch before you get in the doghouse! -
I don't know, it seems like they would connect TT's induction to the wall with a "dog" home game to help sell tickets, rather than a sure sellout like Miami. Just my $0.02

Looks like NYS might change the Sun. alcohol law..
rockpile replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Have you ever observed a scarcity of alcohol at a pre-game tailgate? -
I like the smiles better.
