  1. Great report! Some interesting stuff here. I missed morning practice (was with a daycare in the Bills Experience) and some of the things I saw later were a bit different than your observations. Watch for my report later. What is nice is that you saw things that I missed! I noticed Preston but did not get a chance to single him out very much. JP seemed "off" to me today. Did you view it the same? He was off target and looked like the heat was getting to him - maybe he should trim the hair until later in the fall. I saw Willis get beat by London Fletcher and TKO in blitz drills. He was also beaten twice by Mario Hagen, who slapped him down once; this was in the afternoon. Edwards was also the last person to stop giving autographs to kids this morning. The rest of the team was already at lunch. On one play, (edit it was not Posey it was Kelsay) Posey literally picked up two players and blew right through them. He looked like he was on fire today. More to follow....
  2. The very least they could have done was make some s'mores using the flames while the evac ramps were being deployed!
  3. To put this thread in its proper perspective, I refer you back to this gem: critic's checklist HF, were you really at camp?
  4. Great report! I am going now with kids to camp and will be back this afternoon. If you are there I will be wearing the new jersey, #81, with Rockpile instead of Price on the back. Maybe I'll see you there!
  5. I can see why some people have over 10,000 posts. The key is verbosity.
  6. I missed seeing Ralph arrive. It must have been when the offense was back on the new turf field. I saw him only from a distance. I also noticed JP and other players just talking and laughing in between workouts. Great to see them becoming a team. Before practice started I was standing by the fence screaming your name. I could see you sitting in the shade and wanted to talk a bit before the real practice started (and show off my picture with the cheerleader). I could not get anyone to tap you on the shoulder and point my way. I guess I just do not have your charm. I am glad that kid got VIP the pass. Driving in from Binghamton, he earned it. It was funny when you thought all those kids were the daycare, but they were my grandchildren. See-ya soon!
  7. Solar cooking recipe: Set hot pocket in sun and wait.
  8. I think Mularkey has a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell!
  9. Did they save any of the pictures on disk? I tried scanning mine tonight but the print quality was poor. She did come right over and put her arm around me (Rachel not Melissa ), so of course to be polite, I put my arm around her waist.
  10. I bow to a much better analyst than myself. I won't name them because I would leave someone out which would be wrong, but there are at least a half dozen better analysts out there reporting. My reports are more of a stream of consciousness file dump. I am really looking to a report from Lori, she will knock your socks off!
  11. I'll be back Wednesday afternoon if anyone wants to hook up. I will be wearing #81, new jersey, Rockpile on back.
  12. I remember a play where JP had no one open, and the D had dropped back so far he had 15-20 yards (make that 15 x 20 yards), with no one there and a lane you could drive a hummer though. He took off and sprinted for a TD. No way did I see 82 yards, but maybe 50-60! After reading this thread (and this is NOT directed at you BGIM) I have to ask: why is everyone so damned negative? So, should he just stand there and wait until someone fills that open big space instead of running? The play had broken down. A couple times, the pressure came from both sides so he stepped forward into a three sided pocket and got the pass off, instead of folding in half, waiting to be sacked. Showed a lot of poise.
  13. Other than fielding punts, his hands were like glue. Remember this was my first camp this year and it takes a few to really get into the "zone". He got slammed once and held the ball just fine.
  14. I ran into Mike and #89 in the morning. I had my oldest daughter and 5 grandchildren with me. Most of the morning was spent in the Bills Experience. I had been worried about the move, but I should not have. They compressed the activities which made it easier to watch the small ones and there is shade, at least in the morning. The best part is that it moved the busloads of daycare center kids away from the camp mainstream, which was very nice. A couple comments: Roscoe Parrish was not very good catching punts. McGee and Clements were their usual GREAT! JP looked relaxed. He did screw up a couple times, but minor stuff. He was on the money, throwing into crowds on a frozen rope. Evans and Moulds are awesome and Reed does seem to be getting back to his rookie year form. Parrish made some great receptions. It was hard to view from the bleachers, and at one point they were using all three fields. On one/one defensive drills, TKO DRILLED someone (I missed the number) and got a lot of applause. Either Jabari Greer (33) or Troy Vincent (23) slammed into Parrish, who somehow managed to hold onto the ball. I mean he was leveled. I hollered "Welcome to the Bills, Roscoe" which got some laughs. TE Mark Campbell is a huge player. I had no idea how large he was. Coy Wire has really filled out. His upper body is like a poster from a body building magazine. His build reminds me of Andre Reed, who in his prime was a machine! I ran into Jay's wife, Melissa and later the kids too at the Xerox booth. I had my picture taken with Rachel, the cheerleading babe (mingya! ) in your album, Mike. Melissa had two prints made; I wasn't sure if it was for you, Jay or if she wanted the shot of me. She had the kids' pictures done with three cheerleaders. I hope we get to see the photos, they were very cool. Don't forget to remind them how GD lucky they are to have you two, Jay! She told Rachel how we met because of my Rockpile jersey at the 1st camp at Fisher (2000?). I was actually wearing THAT jersey today. Ryan Denney is the tallest Bill at 6'7" - amazing, like standing next to an oak tree. The other QB's are definitely backups. I have a good impression they can do the job - as backup, which is great news. I have not been reading many camp reports (only because I have been too busy to be here), but have seen some criticism of JP. To my eyes, he is a very good young QB, in charge, getting better every day. He scrambled a couple times when plays broke down and he saw daylight. It is going to really be exciting to see this in a live game, the man has wheels. Got my 6 tickets each to both Monday Nights in August, and will be back at camp Wednesday. Morning is with the wife and daycare - afternoon is just me. Next time I will take notes!! bye!
  15. I suppose you use yours to be sure the kid at the McDonalds cash register hit the right pictures on the keypad. Ding! Gotta go!
  16. I expect Roscoe to sign a damn contract and get his butt to camp.
  17. Never read any of his stuff. Back in the 70's it seems like that was a required baby shower gift. It was useful starting fires in the pot belly stove, though.
  18. Thanks, now when I go to camp I will just use this as my checklist. Saves typing original thoughts.
  19. I do not pretend to have an answer for you, Melissa, because I have not had to raise teenagers as a single parent, work to support the household at the same time (and go to college in my "spare time"). Since his father appears to be a waste of genetic material (does he help at all?), is there anyone else who can intervene - an uncle, grandfather, family friend, minister, etc who can be of guidance? No doubt this kid needs a beating - if only to get his attention. After that he needs a friend; an adult he can respect (preferably a man as a role model) to show him how to BE a man. Someone who he can talk to that he can trust and will pull no punches with him. I had a friend like that when I was a teen and he probably kept me out of jail. He is 19 years older than me and still one of my best friends. My godson lives in the inner city and he has been driving his parents nuts. He has just started to come over on Saturdays and work in the yard with me. While we work, we talk and I teach him how to do things and fix things. If he does a job sloppily he does it over. When he bitches about his parents, I listen and may offer a bit of advice without preaching. After we work, we swim in the pool or just sit in the shade. But coming over a few times a month is not enough. I am terrified he will be in the paper one day as a victim of a drive by shooting. From what you have told us, your son needs intervention now. I hope you can find some help. Good luck!
  20. I have not read it all yet, but at a glance this special section of today's paper has a lot of "meat" for starving fans. Great JP cover on the printed edition. check it on line: click here! One quick thought, and I know most fans do not care, but they have moved the Bills Experience as far away from the practice fields, concessions and bus stop as they could without putting it on the expressway. I am taking my daughter and 5 grandchildren to camp Monday, and my wife's daycare (8 kids) to camp on Wednesday. I became a fan because I was part of the Bills "experience" often as a child. I hope that camp is still "kids friendly". GREAT article about the early training camps and how much things have changed. I watched most of the training camps as a kid at the Blasdell site.
  21. My experieince is that card catalogs are a thing of the past and you can forget about getting books returned or checked out, if the computer is down.
  22. Mtdoak's proctologist didnt find VABillshead up his ass.
  23. It seems like every year, they are making camp a little less friendly for kids. I KNOW this is football camp, but little kids do not care much for watching practice, Back when I was a kid, I would watch a little practice, then take off with my buddies and play in a dirt pile or something while Dad watched the players. But it was the experience of going to camp every year that ultimately got me to start paying more attention to the GAME and less on playing games with other kids. Camp helps build lifetime Bills fans. My grandkids cannot wait until camp starts either (this will be my oldest granddaugther's 4th camp)! I hope the Kids Zone is still Kids Friendly.
  24. I completely agree with you and TheMadCap, you feces tossing simian! That is kinda scary.
