Woo-Hoo! Retatta Plates are on me Friday!
-
Maybe if you cut the recipe in half?

I do not get WGR in Rochester, but I have to say thanks for having the balls to be yourself. You know, sometimes if people would envision themselves sitting at a table at Danny's, having a cold one, and having this conversation - things might be better here. Instead we hide behind silly names like Rockpile and some of us have different identities when using a name as a shield. Hope to meet you some day, Brad.

Should I only report what people want to hear? What am I, CNN?

I was on the side with the defense for my whole 90 minutes of practice. I did not see McGahee in the morning but he ran several drills in the afternoon and looked fine. No one tried to drill him though. I did not make it back to Fisher until 4PM, but got to see over an hour of drills. They had Lindell kicking FGs, moving back 5 to 7 yards each try until he was spitting the uprights from 45 yards. Then Baker came on to kick a couple but missed at 40 yards or so and got some boos from the crowd. They pulled Baker and brought Lindell back on. The OLs and D backs lined up and then about a dozen or more players formed a "U" shape around Lindell and hooted at him for distraction. The snap and hold was good and the kick was a good 50 yard FG that had plenty of extra leg. The crowd was cheering with the team. That was a lot of fun. I have to say that after the afternoon session, Willis was walking to the end zone fence to sign autographs and there was a slight but obvious limp. So he is playing through the pain, but if it was serious he would not have been out there. I thought the afternoon practice (11/11) was a bit sloppy. JP was the best QB (not perfect but he was giving it 100%). Holcomb and Matthews seemed a bit "lazy" if that makes any sense. It is pretty obvious that they are a solid #2 and #3. They need this weekend to bring some life to the drills. I think this was the last "two-a-day". I will be there Monday night and Wednesday PM next week, when they break camp. They did use almost every running back in every circumstance they could, with film running. When is the first cut down? I was playing with a new camera today (Kodak Z740 5MP Digital with 10x Optical Zoom) and will try to post some pictures soon.

I did not have a VIPee pass.

I got off to a slow start today and arrived just as they were finishing their warm-ups and stretches. The practice was mostly on the farthest grass field, which was both good and bad. The good part was that it is on a hill in the shade, and you are not looking into the sun. The bad part was that there were a TON of people there today – and nowhere for most to sit. I was content to park it on the grassy knoll. OK, enough atmosphere. Special teams got a nice workout with ReShard Lee, Joe Burns, Lionel Gates, and Terrence McGee getting most of the action. On one catch, “ZZ Gates” was sprinting one direction, caught the ball, stopped dead kicking up a cloud of dust, and reversed course sprinting all the way. Pure poetry! On the seven on seven drills: JP looked sharp and his receivers made him look better. Evans caught a very nice high finger-tip pass. Moulds caught a diving TD, which had the crowd applauding. I have to note that the coverage was quite good – JP was putting it in places where only the WR could make the grab. George Wilson learned the finesse of Terrence McGee as #24 reached in and snatched the ball out of his hands for an incompletion. He jogged back to the huddle looking at his hands in disbelief. Holcomb was very good too, hitting Aiken (covered by King), Aiken again (covered by Crowell) and Cieslak (a broken play that would have been a sack). It seemed that Holcomb was working more on the short passing game, as was Matthews. Matthews hit Evans on a crossing pattern when McGee was covering him like glue, but Evans made a great leap to pull in the ball. McGee got even again very quickly – batting down a ball intended for Aiken. Working with Matthews, I saw a lot of play action with Burns in motion, picking up zone type coverage and Moulds sneaking across the middle to make an easy catch in man coverage. On the eleven on eleven drills: JP started off with a nice long ball to the EZ corner that Evans could not quite get to; he may have had his progress “impeded” a little by McGee. Nate Clements had an excellent block on a pass to Aiken. Mike Williams was pulling in different scenarios to run and pass block. He seems much faster than last year. I wish I spent more time watching the OL but the WRS kept distracting me! Holcomb threw a nice pass into coverage that Haddad had to dive to catch, but again it was the only open seam. Haddad did it again, beating Oglesby. In general: Joe Burns did a good job picking up the pass rush, pretty consistently. Matthews and Holcomb are excellent backups and mentors to JP. At the end of the morning, Holcomb was running the two minute drill. Greer was burned twice, then our unsung CB Coy Wire stepped in front of a receiver and took the INT in for a score. It was across the field and I missed the intended target's number There was a LOT more going on, but it is too fast to get it all. Back to camp now for the PM.

You are ASKING to be spanked, young lady!

Start by working on your breathing. That will really help with the tobacco and pot. Slow deep diaphragmatic breathing is like a valium. Other breathing exercises are like a stimulant. Be patient and work through the exercises slowly. Posture combined with breathing is everything. It does no good to do it wrong. Get a few books from the library with clear instructions and photos of what the motion looks like. Stay away from the stuff that makes you look like a pretzel; that takes years of practice. When you find a book that works for you go buy it. Put copies of the steps of an exercise on the wall where you can refer to them often. Sometimes I follow yoga with a meditation CD; again just for relaxation. Keep it simple and slow. It is not meant for everyone, and is not aerobic. Right now the only drugs I am addicted to are a couple that help me deal with my MS. Good luck! Here is a decent place to start: breathing and yoga

Nice pictures! You caught me in the background again, but only I could find me in picture #47. Great shot of our VIP seats; I have a hat on and am behind a pole (but you did not cut my head off this time!). Interested in meeting some of us at Nick Tahoe's Friday? We ARE the Western New York Two Bills Drive Garbage Plate Society (WNYTBDGPS).

Which was the hardest to quit for you? Try yoga (really).

OK, so now is when I should announce that Ki Bang Lee, John Dorenbos and me will be selling autographed paper batteries for your cell phone at the tailgate. Only $10 each.

Huh? What'd I miss while I was working?

Stupid head! DING! Gotta go!

Gawd, no apology needed! I was smiling!

I have been going to camp frequently since they started having practice at Fisher. Last night was my 8th practice this year. This is the 1st time I was ever IN the VIP tent. I can be a smuggas if I want. Wednesday and next Monday night I will be back in the white trash section.
-
My camera only has a 2X zoom, which generally makes for rather average pictures, when you are 25 yards away from the players. I had no reason to believe I would be in the VIP tent, with the starters right next to us. This is the only practice where I did not have my camera <sigh>.

I arrived tonight about an hour before camp started. As I approached the entrance a man asked if I was going in alone. I said yes, and he gave me an extra pass he had to the VIP tent. This was the first time I ever got out of the white trash section. There was food and drink in mass quantitiy. Since I thought I would be in the stadium, I did not take my digital - BIG mistake. I stood next to the entrance and saw TKO, JP, Milloy, Sape, and dozens of others up close. I congratulated Sape on his TD. I said hello to a few others. It was a gas! I was like 10 feet away from the players. I watched practice from the upper white tent balcony. As they signed autographs in the far corner before practice began, I consumed mass quantities of free Blue, so this will NOT be an analytical camp report. Observations: Lindell is a lock at kicker. He consistently hit the FG at ranges starting at 30 and going out to 45 yards. Baker is good enough to be in this league though. I took a leak with Jon Dorenbos. He pees real good. Shaud Williams seemed to be tonight's featured RB. Joe Burns saw a lot of action. ZZ Gates was under utilized. QBs seem to be JP, Holcomb, and Matthews - time to say seeya to Woodbury and Thompson. Fast Freddy Smith stone handed a pass; it just dropped from his hands. Drew Haddad looked very good. JP is not perfect but he has the potential for brilliance. I managed to get autographs from JP, Mark Campbell, Duke Preston, Ryan Neufeld, London Fletcher, and Tim Euhus. Senor Rubeo was there, so I expect a better report from him. I think Lori was there too. I still like the combo of Gandy and Anderson. I have to say it was a splendid evening for football!

In person, ICE was fine. Me and babyrock had dinner with him at Danny's last year. It was when he was a cyber personality that he went bipolar. -
