  1. died October 4, 1970 in a motel in Los Angeles at the age of 27. It is reported she had just about cleaned up her act, but gave in to the temptation, and received a particularly pure form of heroin, and overdosed. It was a tough year for music, as Jimi Hendrix died September 18th. This was my senior year of high school.
  2. Your Mom is in my prayers. Good Luck!
  3. It is true. My younger kids (20-ish) thought that the Bills were in the playoffs or Super Bowl every year, and never knew different until the current drought. My older ones remember me screaming at the TV in the early 80's. After the glory days of 64, 65, 66, I thought the Bills would be winners every year, too. Little did I know that I would be mostly cheering for losers for 20 years! It NEVER gets easier, and we did NOT know the team was going to be terrible! Misery is relative to your point of reference.
  4. I am a bigger Bills fan than you are! 70s and 80s? ....Newbie!
  5. Ha-ha! I am glad I never had an incorrect opinion on this forum.
  6. who? (rookies only)
  7. Sorry, that remark was not meant for you, jawbone!
  8. The Ohio Street Drag Races ... they were like a scene from American Grafitti Surfside Pizzeria Foit's Seafood Restaurant
  9. 1. The Exam Two University of Tennessee VOL football players were taking an important exam. If they failed, they would be on academic probation and not allowed to play in next week's big game The exam was fill-in-the-blank. The last question read, "Old MacDonald had a _____." Well, Bubba was stumped. He had no idea what the answer might be. He knew he needed to get this one right to be sure he passed. He looked around to make the professor wasn't watching, then he tapped Tiny on the shoulder. "Pssst. Tiny. What's the answer to the last question?" Tiny laughed. He looked around to make sure the professor hadn't noticed, then he turned to Bubba and said, "Bubba, you're so stupid. Everyone knows that Old MacDonald had a farm..." "Oh yeah," said Bubba. "I remember now." He picked up his No. 2 pencil and started to fill in the blank. Then, he stopped. He reached over to tap Tiny's shoulder again, and whispered, "Tiny, how do you spell farm?" "You really are stupid, Bubba. Duh? That's so easy... Farm is spelled E-I-E-I-O." 2. Emily Sue's Passing Emily Sue passed away and Bubba called 911. The 911 operator told Bubba that she would send someone out right away. "Where do you live?" asked the operator. Bubba replied, "At the end of Eucalyptus Drive." The operator asked, "Can you spell that for me?" There was a long pause. Finally, Bubba replied, "Tell you what... how 'bout if I drag her over to Oak Street and you pick her up there?" 3. Marriage Bubba was from the lower valley, and he decided he wanted to get married to his sweetheart. So, while enjoying some grits and gravy for dinner one evening, Bubba brought up the subject with his Ma and Pa. "Bubba, you can't get married yet," insisted Ma. "You're the baby of the family." "But Ma," Bubba protested, "I just had my 38th birthday last week." "We know that, Bubba," Pa chimed, "but your Ma and me think you should put off getting married until after you graduate from high school." 4. Obituary Kathy had just become a widow and needed to put an obituary in the paper about her late husband, Bubba. She called the newspaper and asked, "How much to put an obituary in the paper?" "The cost is $0.50 per word," said the newspaper editor. "Fine, please print "Bubba died." The startled newspaper editor explained that there was a 7 word minimum charge. Kathy thought for a moment, then said, "Okay, then, please print 'Bubba died. 1983 pickup truck for sale.'"
  10. Mahi-mahi is better on a grill than fried in oil.
  11. Actually the timing is good. Beating the Dolphins will be PHANtastic. Oh yeah, bite me.
  12. but it IS worth replying to?
  13. Take a deep breath. Take a walk. Have a drink. I met you at the opener and you do not seem like the type who would throw in the towel. Just kinda sorta sucks to be a Bills fan tonight.
  14. That fact was burned into my mind with the image of Jim Kelly leaving his last game on a medical cart! I wish I had an answer.
  15. When my daughter was 16, I went in with her. I grabbed a seat at the far end of the long bar and she disappeared into the crowd with her friends. It is large enough where you can be there and NOT be in your kid's face. On three separate occasions, I got to see Goldfinger, Weezer, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, so it was OK. After a few shows at a couple different places, she got a bit street smarter and I felt more comfortable, too. You know this place serves alcohol, right? What show is it? Worst case, walk across the street to the Water Street Grill and hang out. The area is pretty rough, so if you drop them off have a solid pick up time and place.
  16. My daughters were selling beads at the opener. Check out my tailgate photos on the Tailgate East thread, and you can see Pinto Kenny covered in condiments!
  17. Thanks Lori! Say "Hi!" to Sam Adams for me.
  18. Liner notes from A Quick One While She's Away/Happy Jack state that Moon was the fastest eighteen year old drummer in the world. I consider myself very fortunate to have seen The Who, right after the release of Who's Next at one of the last concerts when they smashed their instruments. At the time they were one of the most powerful bands in the world.
  19. You think that FFS is speechless because he did not bother to reply to this thread? Ha! That is retatta logic, Cheez Wiz! Your proof is in the tapioca, my man.
  20. Whoever said Reader's Digest were not crooks!
  21. When is the last time you were in Mexico? This winter we are going to Puerto Vallarta for the 4th time and we love it there. You think that maybe some of those min wage workers at a domestic restaurant or hotel aren't doing disgusting things behind those kitchen walls? I have been at road side cafes in Mexico that were cleaner than some "nice" places here.
  22. Have you checked out Puerto Vallarta?
