  1. I hear ya. This mentality is mind numbing. Hey, since it's a passing league, why not throw 23 passes vs 3 rushes in the second half while only down by one? After all, it's a passing league and our best player will never carry this team!
  2. Who will then, Bill? He is clearly, far and away, without a doubt, the best football player on the Buffalo Bills roster. There is no disputing this fact, is there? Why, in your opinion, will he never carry this this team?
  3. Right, Welker was so ineffective with Mijami that the Pats gave up a 2nd and a 7th to a DIVISION RIVAL to acquire him. Welker caught 67 passes from Joey Freaking Harrington and a gassed Daunte Culpepper in 06 for a robust 10.3 YPC. In 07 he caught almost double that number (112) but the YPC was the same (10.5). You do the math. He was excellent without Brady, and remained excellent with him. He just saw more targets. The guy is an elite player, with or without Brady's pass first offense.
  4. CJ Spiller is the best player on our team and when given a chance to tote the rock 15 + times per game he's been one of the best players in football. The numbers bear that out. PFF ran some stats last year and from the time FredEx went down (i paraphrase) Spiller was top 5 in the league in yards behind only Megatron, Ray Rice, and some other Schmoe who's name escapes me ATM (LeSean McCoy?). They actually graded him as the best back in football during that stretch based on his total package, INCLUDING blocking. I have no idea why Gailey insists on a 50/50 split. You have to put your best talent on the field. Spiller is clearly our 20-25 carry guy. It's not debatable. He's explosive, he knows all the blocking assignments, and has learned how to settle for the 3-4 yard gain. Fred is our 3rd down slash 8-10 carry slash goal line guy. There's nothing wrong with that. I love what Fred has done for this team and what he represents. But he is the inferior player to Spiller. If Gailey continues this 50/50 nonsense he deserves to lose his job. There is no excuse for not putting your best talent on the field the majority of the time.
  5. Fred's injury was to his left knee, right? In this tweeted pic from today's practice the brace is on his right knee. http://say.ly/zaz4fM0 What's going on here?
  6. Maybe it's the coffee talking, but I can't shake the feeling that we'll have both Spiller and Jackson available for the New England game. Nothing substatial whatsoever to base this on, just a hunch.
  7. Tim G just tweeted that Spiller has full range of motion, not in a sling, but that pain and swelling an issue. Sez Spiller might play Sunday.
  8. No chance he takes a discount to stay in NE. That relationship is over. He did them a favor by signing a tender early so he could show up to camp on time. They turned around and !@#$ed him up the ass. Not only that, but they were actively working to diminish his value on the open market till Hernandez got hurt. There is no chance Welker would sacrifice any personal gain to stay in NE. He already did that once and got screwed. He'll be a pro on the field this year but lets hope that bad blood permeates through the Pats locker room and they all get a taste of how they will be treated contractually once they are on the wrong side of 30. They have created a problem where one didnt exist.
  9. Just got in to town from Boston, sec 137 row 20. Let's go Buffalo!
  10. Bitching about Spiller's fumble is the height of idiocy. I will take 169 yds rushing, 25 yds receiving, a TD and a fumble every freaking week. I can't believe ppl are really complaining about his fumble. The guy averaged 12 yds a carry and was pretty much the best back in the NFL today. He needs better ball security, sure, but i'll take the bad with the good with this guy. Over his last 8 games he has looked like one of, if not the best, players in football.
  11. I was at that Jax loss. That sucked, but this was far worse. This game was embarrassing in all phases of the game. We got our asses kicked. They clowned us. Fitz was horrible, the game plan sucked, and our defense gave up 3rd down after 3rd down just like always. What a cruel joke.
  12. Buddy commented on how he was going to move inside shortly after adding Williams and Anderson (or at least before OTAs) so I suspect they like him in a "slimmed down" rush 4 package on longer downs. We'll see. Hopefully he is able to outquick interior OLs and knife inside, because he sure isn't going to bull ppl over a la Kyle and Marcell.
  13. Gut feeling is we can sneak by the first three weeks with 4 corners (SG, AW, LM, JR) as we will face three run heavy (or at least pass weak) teams in NYJ, KC, and CLE. Hopefully McGee will be ready by week 4 when NE comes to town. We'll see how it shakes out, but we may not need to add another corner until late Sept.
  14. Kind of a stretch from your earlier claim in this very thread that "his drafts have been horrible", no? Let me guess, you are a binge and purge type of guy. As far as stress in my life, thanks for your concern. I've got two youngsters, so sure, there's some. I'm glad that as well as infallible NFL draft critic, you are also able to add zen master to your impressive resume. I'll be sure to lean on you when the kids are especially challenging!
  15. It would be far more useful to compare "Buddy's" 2010 results that you are so critical of to the results of other GMs that had been on the job for such a short period of time prior to the draft. What was it, 3 months? With much of the old staff in place? You are criticizing the 2010 draft in a vacuum. Context is your friend. WRT the 2011 draft, there hasnt been enough time to to truly assess the class. That said, are you suggesting that you are better at evaluating college talent than an NFL FO? You do understand that it's not just Nxx making these picks, correct? You criticize him for not filling backup QB and completely ignore the insane run on QBs that occured last year. Ponder 12 overall? Idiot. Now in 2012 you B word about an R6 getting cut? Even if the pick was a mistake, as you claim, it's nice to see A.) marginal talent not making the team and B.) a GM admit the player picked wasnt a fit and move on. Would you prefer the FO cling to "their guy" just because they picked him? If so, Tom Donahoe says hi. Grow up and stop acting like you know better. You don't.
  16. Incorrect. Either you missed the last six games of 2011 or you have chosen to ignore them. Spiller's production over that span was elite level.
  17. Koppen is horrid. I'd be happier had they kept him.
  18. Hagan cut per Joe B. Roosevelt, Martin, and Aiken as well.
  19. Easley's been cut per Joe B's twitter.
  20. The Bills Backers of Boston meet every game day at The Harp on Causeway St, right across from TD Banknorth Garden. The place gets packed with Bills fans and there is a free halftime buffet. Definitely worth the trip for a little 716 in the 617! www.bostonbillsbackers.com/
  21. Carpal tunnel syndrome...no Lumber lung...no Juggler's despair...no Achy breaky pelvis...no Hey, wait...hyper obesity! If you weigh more than 300 lbs you qualify as disabled! Maybe Shep is gaining enough weight so that he can play MLB from home!
