  1. I only listened, but it was obvious to me even on radio that the addition of Dareus to the DL is going to free up Merriman to rush the passer and other LBs to simply hold serve and do their jobs, even after one/two series. This is not to say that Dareus alone is the cure to our defensive ills, but I'm very pleased that Den took Miller and Dareus was there for us. If Willams and Dareus do indeed require 4 blockers, we may actually not allow 200 ypg on the ground this year and that is certainly a step in the right direction for our D. Hard to be grumpy about the Williams/Dareus combo after tonight.
  2. Hey, I'm just as much of a 'win now' guy as anyone, but let's not roast Gailey and Nix after one just season for being behind the Pats. Beating NE will come in time, just like it always does, but they are a good team, well coached, and have a system that's been in place for over a decade. It'll take more than two drafts, 1 season of coaching, and some house cleaning to become the class of the division. Baby steps.
  3. Let's hope so. Dude's what, 34 when the season starts? I don't see Mallet generating first or second round value while riding the bench, when teams simply could have used their own first or second rounder to just take him for themselves.
  4. Perhaps, but barring a Brady injury we won't know until about 2015.
  5. 15 carries, 135 yards. Drives me nuts just imagining the outcome had he received 8 more handoffs.
  6. What is the better strategy, taking the 4th or 5th best player at position x simply because of "need" or taking the best player at another position even if you are relatively set there if the player is elite? IMO you take the BPA, regardless of position. As a caveat, I don't portend to know anything about college football, but if a guy is elite, you take him and find a way to get him on the field rather than drafting a lesser player simply because you think you "need" to fill that spot.
  7. A few other things had to fall into place before that game even became relevant, Ace.
  8. My faves this year were London (IMO his best year), JP (we clearly have a QB), Crowell, Ellison (did a nice job filling in for both Spikes and Crowell, especially for a smallish late round pick), and Peerless. It was nice to see a player I used to call a whimp accept the complimentary role he actually fits best and do it with a team first attitude. He's come a long way and it's good to have him in town. He made his fair share of tough catches this year, bitched only a little, and helped the team win. Good for him. Things are looking up. More everything on both lines in the 07 offseason and this team can do some serious things. It could have actually done some things this year, but sometimes the bitter pill swallowed is more beneficial than the one never taken.
  9. Bingo. These guys need to reboot physically and mentally. Does anyone really believe thier jobs are as intense and demanding as football players or for that matter hockey players?
  10. I like the comments. They show a willingness to look at and address his own weaknesses. All I want to see from Losman is a desire to improve and his comments speak to that. If he was complacent about his benching I'd be more concerned. Just another tool in his development.
  11. This is very true. Our OL did not compliment Bledsoe's style of play, but the truth is, Bledsoe doesn't compliment a mediocre OL either. The guy is what he is. There is no need for us to to pine away for a guy that has a known pattern of putting up solid numbers early and then fading when it matters most. I want my QB to play big in the most important games and to help overcome OL and other deficiencies without naming them or bringing them to light. Granted, our OL needs to improve across the board, but Bledsoe, in his 3 years as a Bill, never showed an ability to take it to the next level and lead the Bills to victory. The guy is a butcher.
  12. Wait till week nine. Seriously, Drew Bledsoe will NEVER lead his team to a Super Bowl win. We all know that.
  13. IMO, I would take 0-16 with Losman just to simply never have to watch another game with Drew Bledsoe as the QB of the Bills.
  14. The bottom line is he is not named Drew Bledsoe.
  15. The thing to remember here is not all these fighters are terrorists. Some are simply not down with a foriegn power having troops on their soil.
  16. Or, better yet, nothing like spending your time worrying about what guys on every other team are doing. "I know there are 650 or 700 other players who are sleeping this morning," A-Rod said. "Either that, or they're taking their kids to school. But there's no way they're going to be up running the stairs or doing what I'm doing."
  17. First of all, the guy's name is Beth. Second of all, he has one career reception of 40 yards or more. One. You were saying?
  18. BF - Your take on Anaheim getting HF in R1 despite finishing six games behind Boston during the regular season?
  19. I dunno FM, with both teams locks for the playoffs, I'm not all that excited about these 2 upcoming series. Now if one was poised to knock the other from the PS that would be one thing. But with both teams shoo-ins for October, It's almost like "eh".
