Internally there’s some love for Tee Higgins
BillsFan17 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like it! A lot of sentiment around DPJ is the poor QB play really hurt him at Michigan, and that there are people in the league higher on him than the media. As far as the comparison, I like the Isaiah Coulter from Rhode Island as a Diggs type. -
Bills re-sign Jason Croom to 1-year deal

I'll be damned if I still didnt want at least one better option. Not a fan of Kroft or Smith being on the roster. Know its very likely they are both back, but the way they sniffed around Olsen, makes me wonder if they sniff around Walker. -

I'm a Clemson fan, I live in North Carolina, but lived in SC for a bit and grew to really like the program. Hated the Spiller pick, was over the moon about Sammy, was really meh about Shaq.... being a fan of a program doeant mean ish for most when it comes to their specs. I mean I have stanned for Higgins, but only because some of the narratives around him are unfounded. Lamb Ruggs Jeudy Jefferson Reagor Mims Aiyuk Shenault HIGGINS Peoples-Jones...are my WR rankings. So, clemson fan or not, I still dont have Higgins rated that highly in my top ten. That being said the talent is so crazy in this class. I feel like from Jefferson on (the big three obviously are 1st rounders), to Higgins you can make the case for that tier to all go in the first. -
Pick 1 FA - Best Bang For The Buck

Kirksey on a one year prove it deal. If the kid returns to form, stays healthy, and shows out, we can always look to resign him. Spain is a good example of the prove it deal benefitting both sides admirably. I doubt with Anderson's checkered past that hed fit with McDermott/Beane. -

1) All of those players minus Hill were UNDRAFTED. 2) Hill was a very highly regarded talent but had an issues off the field. Domestic Violence allegations surrounding him really hurt his stock. Those arent the best examples to prop that argument up on. -

Hype train? Rex and his Clemson crew? What is this amatuer hour? Working on your tight five for open mic night? I've admitted multiple times that Higgins is not as high on my list as other WRs. I'm just pointing out the kid is a vastly better spec than some are making him out to be. Your logic dictates you're ready to take Isaiha Hodgins over Jeudy because Hodgins put up a 4.12 20 yard shuttle over Jeudy's 4.53 Maybe take Quez Watkins who ran a 4.35 over Lamb who ran a 4.5 As far as taking Higgins at 22, I wouldn't be overly thrilled, but there is absolutely a case to be made as to why he would be worth taking there. -

So Jeudy and Lamb test nearly the same as Higgins, yet that doesn't matter. We dont really care about their testing cause of their play on the field. Higgins has balled out for three years now, but we are nervous about his ten years splits... perfect You draft players based on workouts, the rest of the world will draft players based o their ability in pads... nothing to see here. -

Not saying its the case with the poster you are responding with, but echo chambers are certainly real around here. There seem to be a regurgitated narrative of the same "knocks" on Higgins over and over, despite arguments to the contrary. -

These were the same arguments made against AJ Brown and Ju-Ju for example. That they were going to have issues separating, and to a further extend with Ju-Ju... that the jump ball was going to be a staple if there was going to be success. We dont know what Higgins abilities could be outside of how he was utilized at Clemson and he showed to have an incredible catch radius, terrific hands, smooth deep runner, and a very sound athlete for his size (12 broken tackles for a WR)... Do I personally rate WRs higher than Higgins, surely, but the kid is a very worth while prospect who is being undersold pretty hard. -
Quinton Spain to re-sign with buffalo, 3 yr 15 million
BillsFan17 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Context is important If the plan is to make Ford a full time OG, are you going to pay Feliciano after this season and keep Ford as a backup? If so, seems like a gross mismanagement of a second rounder who is primarily going to be a backup interior linemen. I think Feliciano is one of the tone setters along that line. I think they would be better served keeping him entrenched at RG. So again, the context of what the plan moving forward would be, especially after giving Spain three more years, so hes likely entrenched as the starting LG... -

That and that he has drop issues are two very weird narratives. Played in 15 games back to back years. In those years out of 120 catchable balls, Higgins dropped six... -

I mean, they just retained Spain for three more years, and they still have Feliciano thru this season, so unless they are going to regulate Ford as a backup Guard... It's entirely possible they slide Ford over and let him learn behind Feliciano, and then let Jon walk, but it seems like they want to keep this line together... -

That was my first take. Kind of him responding to everything getting shut down. Either way, I really hope they retain him. -
I think he is. Has to be.

Moreover, Higgins had six drops (out of 120 catchable balls) over two years, not sure where the narrative started that he has issues catching the ball. -

Higgins did have a high volume of broken tackles. While he isnt overly explosive, he does have a physical element that allowed him to make plays with the ball in his hands. -

Injuries? He played 15 games back to back years... being dinged up is not the same as being legit injured. Every player gets dinged up. -

I have zero questions about Higgins ability to go pluck a ball. They are two vastly different players.
