Id not replace Hamlin for Hyde. Hamlin has been playing well. He doesn't get enoughh credit here.

He's played behind a porous DL, backup LB's and run avoiding CBs

Hyde will get time but I'd make him a package player. And I'd have him ready against Detroit if possible with limited time the last 3 weeks.

He is smart enough to matchup against smart QB's. You can't fool him.

    But, Hamlin should start.

Is the Hyde package similar to the Joe Webb package?

Look he's getting wide open, ther

I think we can agree on one thing, lets hope they keep missing these shots, because the guy is getting wide open for big plays, and they're not hitting them.  Hopefully it stays that way because getting open isn't the problem.

Maybe when Mahomes finally puts one right on the money in the AFC Championship game, Worthy drops it and demands to go to a shittier team in Texas after they're eliminated?

Yep, that’s where I’m at too.

They are out of excuses. It’s not coaching. It’s not goaltending. It’s not the age of the roster. This team is just mediocre at best.

i keep hearing that stupid line of Adams from the summer repeating in my head-

“I’m not worried about scoring goals. This team has plenty of talent”.

oh yeah? They do? Where’s this supposed “talent” at Kevyn?

We’ve been tanking for a f’n decade and it still seems like we are void of actual game breaking talent. While we watch players we used to have become game breaking talents for other teams while winning Stanley cups.

something is just seriously wrong in Buffalo.

Quinn and Cozens massively underperforming this year is a significant issue.  No matter who they are paired with that line continues to be a black hole.  Both players are being totally outperformed by the bottom 6 role players we signed this offseason.  We do not have a second line and as a result of injury and underperformance we are messing with lines which were performing well (3rd and 4th line).   So much of this season was counting on young players to take the next step.

Quinn, Kulich, Cozens, and Benson is a lot of roster space for young guys trying to find their game.  The fact that three of them played on the same line for much of the year is far from ideal.

Power play remains miserable. Good teams have consistently good special teams in this league.  There is no excuse to have this ineffective of a PP when you have two elite one timers on opposite sides of the umbrella in Tage and Peterka.

Last night was vintage panic.  You could see the change in game play after going up 4-0.  Avs started buzzing around a bit and in the second period Buffalo was barely hanging on with strong play from UPL.  Buffalo had chances to put this game away and did nothing with breakaways.  Dahlin hits the dressing room and the wheels absolutely fell off.

UPL gave up some juicy rebounds on goals 2, 3, and 5 but our Dmen did nothing.  There was utter panic and tail chasing that led up to a few of those.

  4. Its been a fun ride but now its time to talk about BTC price targets, when to start selling, and how much to sell.  I think BTC will surpass $100k in the near future so I am holding for now.  I expect that the psychological impact of hitting that milestone will create its own momentum driving prices even higher before crashing back down and then at some point a long slow grind down to the new support level.  Probably somewhere near the previous high of $60k.

Crypto is highly cyclical and having observed a couple of cycles I don't think this cycle will be all that different.  I am still in wait and see mode but once we cross $100k BTC value it will be time to actively monitor and think about setting sell targets.  I'll be looking to dump at least 75% of my holdings this cycle, park my money in SPY for a while, and then look to start buying back in after price declines below $65k.  Thats the general plan.

I dont think it is better, but Damar is much less noticeable getting beat, out of position and is throwing his body around making tackles... But no I do not think we are getting the Poyer/Hyde Combo this year from Rapp and Hamlin...

Between injuries and age we didn't get the Poyer Hyde combo for most of last season.

For some reason I trust our defense more than ever.. and that's strange considering i was super critical of Damar Hamlin being our starter in the secondary. I was like this is going to be a sh*t show back there.  And now I trust all our D to get it done when it matters.  Just stay healthy, that's the biggest thing that will derail any playoff push.

Damar has done a good job of playing within himself.  Be the last man back and don't let anyone get behind you.  He has contributed a few nice plays near the LoS.  As much as I would like to upgrade the position this offseason, he has not been the disaster.  On the other side, Rapp is having an outstanding season.  Our safety play has been a major surprise.  Dare I say that safety play is better this year than last year?

Statistically, this is not the best team of the Allen era.  And just looking at the roster, I believe the stats.

But I love the teamwork and camaraderie.  Most of all, I love how we're deep into the season and reasonably healthy.   Injuries - the lack of them - may be the thing that distinguishes this team going forward into the playoffs.

I think this team has another gear yet to hit on offense.  We have yet to see what this offense can look like with Kincaid, Coleman, Samuel, and Cooper all healthy and available.  Now this could go badly if Brady tries to get everyone involved rather than gameplan for each opponent but we have yet to take the field with our new starting offense in tact.

On defense, I don't think we have another level to hit.  Milano could shape into form which would help. Getting Smoot and Carter back helps for depth, but I don't see this team suddenly figuring out how to shut down the power run game and make offenses one dimensional.

I probably missed the resolution of a previous discussion of this member's whereabouts, but...what ever happened to @Hapless Bills Fan?

I was digging through an old draft night thread, and she made some nice posts in it, and it reminded me what a huge contribution she made to this forum. What did I miss? Is she okay?

She's still here under a different name.

    Mister Blue Sky.

Sorry @Gugny  @SinceThe70s  @ExWNYer   I thought he was the most passionate Mets fan I came across in the years I used the site.

He had some pretty funny I’ll call them old school takes on life as well.

I definitely remember he had health concerns going on though.  So I kind of fear the worst.

Pretty sure @Gugny stole Blue Sky's identity and absolutely ruined his credit and reputation.  Last I heard, several federal agencies were interested in Blue Sky's whereabouts.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding you, but did you think you could buy some individual season tickets in a luxury box?   You have buy the rights to all the seats in the box.   If you want to sit in the box you would have to work out a deal with the owner of the box for that season, not the team.

I can't believe they left him on hold!

This team is clearly different when UPL is in goal, not sure what to expect tonight against the sharks. They are a crappy (by record) team we should beat, but no UPL for us

UPL played lights out for us last night.  He has stolen 2 wins for this team on this west coast road trip.

there was no noose. puppets hang on a string. that puppet was hanging by a string, not around its neck but from its back from a street sign.

    end of story.

How did you tie a string to a puppet's back?  Does it have a hook?

UPL came up big when we needed him, but the endless penalty kills for Buffalo came up big. And the final 2 minutes, LA only had a couple of good chances. The Sabres kept LA on the perimeter not giving them solid scoring chances.

Is there anything scarier than watching the Sabres defend a 1 goal lead with 2 minutes left in the game?  Its a minor miracle that game didn't go to OT with how panicked they looked.

The Sabres have yet another chance to get above 0.500 against a hapless Ducks team. This should be a reason for optimism, but experience tells me we should be terrified of what may unfold tonight.

In this day in age its safe to assume anyone who does use a noose as a demostration probably has nefarious thoughts to go along with it.

I have met my share of people who are this way...   Would they act on these thoughts, probably not but if the tolerance for violence continues to ramp up we will witness people increasing this type of behaviour.

For me there is better ways to Troll. Kermit in a KC jersey being run over by a Buffalo in Blue and Red, but a noose has an historic sigificance that is largely viewed as negative

According to Emily Post's Principles of Etiquette...

"stop hanging and burning effigies, you irredeemable f@#$wits."

Its a football game, not Benghazi.
