I agree. The miracle plays are still there, just not as frequent. So Allen's top end play this year has not been as good as we've seen before. But on the other hand he has by far his career best completion percentage which means he is playing "normal" QB better than he ever has before. That's what I mean when I say it's been his most consistent year yet. And it's not like he has an elite group of weapons or an elite offensive coach making it easy for him.

The bad plays unfortunately really stick out this year because all of them are turning into the worst case scenarios of themselves and our team as a whole has zero margin for error so every mistake looks worse.

He's also come up clutch in the 4th quarter while trailing this year more times than I can ever remember, but his defense has let him down every time (or tried their damndest to in the Giants game).

When we lead a game for 90 seconds out of 60 minutes and the Defense is continually handed short fields, its really hard to say the defense is letting Allen down.  He's allowed to do something before 5 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.  The offense has done nothing to take the pressure off the D.

I mean he is gone now so it doesn't matter but....why were we calling 3-4-5 runs in a row multiple times with him when he came back? Was Dorsey sticking it to McDermott?

Seems not a great idea to gas a guy out like that when he has already fumbled...can't remember the last time I even saw 3 runs in a row outside of ending a game.

Because it was the only thing that worked.  Cook and Murray gashed Denver all night.  Even Dorsey won't leave the run when its averaging 7.5 yards per carry.

    Anything else?

We lost because the Broncos kicker missed a kick and got to rekick it because of a ridiculous 12 men on the field penalty. Had that not happened, the final score would have been 22-21 Bills. I hate to break that to you

We will lose a lot of games if our strategy is to hope that kickers botch 2 PATs and miss game winning 40 yarders.

It is so alarming to me how many of these INT’s he has thrown just this year.  He cannot figure this out for whatever reason.

He easily could have had 2 more INTs.  I don't know what the f@#$ he is even looking at.

Defense kept us alive in the game all night.

Competent teams, like the Eagles, would’ve been up 21-0 at the end of the first Q.

I don’t understand how folks don’t get this. Unless we are ASKING the banged up defense to score points for the offense, what else can they do?

The offense did its job and racked up high EPA points.  Its up to the defense to score points that actually matter.

The Bills didn’t lose because of 12 men on a missed FG. We lost because the QB played poorly against a bad defense. I’m not saying to trade the guy, but that’s not good enough. Other franchise QBs don’t have games like that. Burrow threw for over 300 in his loss on Sunday. Mahomes doesn’t have games like this. Even Herbert doesn’t have games like this. He clearly saw a sport’s psychologist this offseason (low positive is right from those people) and it’s messing with his head. But in the end, I’m not sure he cares.

    And a fumble.

As a fellow Houstonian Bills fan, i have 100% changed my mind on the Texans after they let Cal McNair "stand in the corner" and fired Jack Easterby, Lovie Smith and Culley.  Texans are a great team to root for now with a lot of draft capital still from the D Watson trade.  Stroud is a legit MVP candidate, certainly front runner for ROY and Demeco Ryans as coach of the year.

They are fun to watch and playing great football right now.  The future is extremely bright for the Texans.  Stroud looks like he will be a top 5 QB and hes playing like one right now.  Get him a true #1 WR.

I don't know if the city has noticed what they have.  There is minimal buzz about the Texans.  My colleagues are still talking about the Astros and hyped because the Rockets aren't mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet.

Texans fans are mild at best.  They make Miami fans look like die hards.  I think most of them checked out after the Oilers moved.  They do not appreciate what they have right now and its special.

Penn State really knows how to destroy 5 star QBs...and get scrappy 2 star QBs to play with moxie.  McGloin, McSorley, Clifford >>> Hackenberg & Allar.  Pribla may be in that former camp too....just disapointing.

Strange part with Allar is that he isnt bad.  He has ALL the tools.  He is poised and confident.  He doesn't throw interceptions.  He is just inaccurate (thus far) and has no good receivers.  Dare I say he needs a Josh Allen type of turn..

Aller looked great last year coming in for spot duty when Clifford was hurt.  He went downfield a lot and completed a some nice passes.  This year's offense looks a lot like Buffalo's offense.  Nothing down the field, no WRs who can get separation, and as a result defenses sit on everything short and attack.  Aller throws an accurate ball.  Too many of his incompletions are off the hands of his intended receiver. He could benefit from a little more touch at times since his WRs can't catch anything with heat on it.

I don't know why they concentrated on stuffing the run down the throats of inferior competition rather than work on getting the passing game going.  Maybe the new OC will improve.  I Franklin is too conservative to overcome the talent gap between PSU, Ohio, and Michigan.

Yes, even read a story where Andy put a play in that the custodian drew up as well. That does keep things fun and interesting for sure.

However I liken it to "pretty lady syndrome" Unscientific observation tells me that life in general is easier for a pretty lady than one with warts all over her face. Winning 2 Super Bowls means people give them the benefit of the doubt when things are bad. This year alone, their offense has been brutal at times and flat out not good. But they aren't hearing their coordinator should be fired. They aren't hearing a new HC is needed. Makes it far easier to operate and figure things out than it does for Dorsey, Allen and McDermott because they have the warts of never winning before.

For KC, they can have fun and figure it out as the heat isn't as high and they aren't under the microscope. It helps.

The Chiefs are 7-2, leading the AFC, and playing great defense.  That will generally draw less criticism than being 5-4, losing to the dregs of the NFL, and with the easiest part of the schedule behind you.

Josh leads the league in INTs. The offense over the past 5 weeks has averaged 10 pts through 3 quarters. Analysts are scrutinizing his game, calling for his OC to make changes. Message board video reviews have never been so popular. Josh Allen, right now, is not playing QB at a level above everyone else. That sounded silly just typing it.

Tell that to Environmental Protection Agency.

I think both sides were responsible equally for the Bills losing. And I wish they had not done that I rather my Pats were 1-8 right now and have I think the 3nd pick in the draft?

That game may have saved Mac Jones career for another few months.

The Pats game they gave up 29 points to a O that until then was the WORST scoring O in the NFL, I think they are 2nd worse now.

I agree the O didn’t help but they gave the D the lead with 2 minutes left and all the D had to do was stop Mac Jones from driving down the field. Something he had never done in the 4th quarter his entire career. (Not all his fault the WR kinda stink too)

for the Pats game I’d say that was a team loss for the Bills. As in both sides of the ball were equally responsible.

The D did force a turnover at the 20 which set up the offense to take the lead.  Had we not led in that game for a precious 90 seconds fans might be thinking differently about this efficiently bad offense.

    A couple things on this:

    1) Careful with the win probability calculator in general. It isn't always entirely accurate IMO, and certainly not always instructive. To use one example that actually works in favor of your argument, removing >90% win probability eliminates pretty much the entire 2nd half of our Bucs game. I'm sure you agree our offense in the 2nd half was not sufficient and being >90% win probability was not a good excuse for most of that half. The same thing is happening in reverse when you remove <10% win probability. Using this formula, you would say for example the Patriots team that won the infamous 28-3 Super Bowl had an abysmal offense in that game.

TLDR: Don't confuse high/low win probability with garbage time. I don't think anyone would agree that we have played any measurable amount of garbage time over the past 4 weeks outside of end of game kneeldowns. If you disagree, let me know what garbage time you think we've played in recent weeks.

    2)

Our offense is getting no help from the defense or special teams. This was especially true in the Bengals game for example. When we lose field position and time of possession that badly, even a decently efficient offense is going to have trouble scoring a lot of points.

To be clear I don't think our offense is performing as well as it could, but the efficiency stats are what they are. Everything has to be evaluated within the right framework of context.

The offense could maintain drives and score points which would help with TOP.  They aren't doing our ***** defense any favors with 3 and outs and turning the ball over inside their own 30.

It was a fine start to the season except for where Zach Wilson once again out dueled our franchise QB, but that team is no longer with us.  This current offense is middle of the pack at best.  When you have a supposed top 3 QB, that is completely unacceptable.

Look at it from a global standpoint? What does that mean?

Why does it matter if he would have hard feelings or not?

It means this team isn't winning anything with Trevor Simien or Zach Wilson under center but they already know who Simien is.  Developing Wilson in hopes he figures it out is more meaningful than winning one more game with Simien.  Likely this is the position that was dictated to Saleh from ownership.
