It was his redshirt year where he had an issue. After the redshirt, no issues with playing weight or workouts. We were fine with 6'6" 242 during his playing days down here, not just the championship year. Not here to argue, I think too much is being made of his weight. Can't wait to see him go after balls for us.

He played at 242 lbs in college and coaches were fine with that. No one in college asked him to lose weight. Pro personal asked him about losing weight to 225 during the combine.Just wanted to clear up the college rumors about being too heavy, not true. He was our main wr during our championship season and caught the game winning td w less than a minute left in the game against Auburn. No word of weight issues from coaches, just media. Glad he's on board.

Gotcha. One advantage TT has is he was able to sit and learn the NFL game for a few years without being thrown into the "fire" as a rookie. He sat for 4 years in Baltimore. He can sit back, take it all in and kinda have a feel for what he's getting into. Winston has the Bucs hopes riding on his shoulders and he's only 23. This is in no way a knock on TT. The OP asked if Winston is a real QB. He's still a puppy by league standards. He will get better, as opposed to what So Tier says. If we beat the Raiders and Carr has a similar game to Winston, is he now not a real QB?

The Bucs scored more points on us than any other team we've played this year. Don't forget, Winston did this on the road against a damn good defense, with a bum shoulder. TT had a good game. To answer the question, yes Winston is a real QB and I would take him over TT in a heartbeat.
