I think letting Josh read the defense was part of the early experiment. Some hand holding there. When Daboll went upstairs Josh was allowed to move out of a play call more often. Sure he was starting to do that earlier. But the early games had some script to them for sure. Lot of fast growth/learning imo happened this year on offense and still much to go into next season

I have spoken about this to those who do not think how Coaches set up game to game week to week yet still consider what they will show or not. and with a new Offense lining up ? a lot must be trial and error. and as some know, execution vs calling plays with an ability to execute them can be a tightrope act : ) the jet sweeps and RO plays ?

How do you feel about drafting , having patience, faith in Coaching? You well know Beanes will not outbid for FAs. Nor should he. Look how the Frank Clark thing turned out. Grow you own. Hughes will come to pass naturally over next two years. Murphy perhaps sooner or renegotiate (better option imo) Star is on his way to retirement and knows it. Plenty of players on the D line to replace. I vote we keep what has been working and pay them what they have earned. as i mentioned above , i have no reason to think their hustle and work ethic will leave after new contract arrives, ala Dareus etc. If you are bringing in young players? and they should, i feel Phillips and Lawson are going to be decent mentors as well as great team mates

But will the Bills retain either or both? I am sure McBeanes will make a very fair and respectful valued offer to both. Either before or after a sit down talk about allowing them to try the market if they feel the need. One thing is , i feel the FO will be upfront and honest. its a weird feeling. I agree. These two are part of a fine foundation. and something key for me with contracts. I do not perceive any let up from either of these guys once they get paid. they will not coast or become lazy. Good investment. This year is super interesting to me to see how McBeanes does McBeane with contracts. Very telling when they come out of this offseason and what they have going into draft etc Bills trauma. its a formal affliction and noted in Medical dictionaries world wide. Roberts is an awesome returner , and can catch. He also gets few looks from Allen. Foster has great speed and might well develop if Allen could get the ball in his hands. Mac was used a ton early in the season for sweeps and such things. I am a huge Duke fan and i do not know why Daboll does the things he does. But we are 10-4. so i try not to get overly critical of week to week matchups and who is dressed etc. I would have played heavy packages and possession Offense l against Ravens, so what do i know LOL strikes an odd sounding chord doesn't it ? you have a very good point.

I think it still does. 1st year with this line . Be very interested to how this falls out come preseason and who are the starters next year. Great strides for sure, But still just one year in with these guys +Dawkins. Gotta stabilize that to move forward for Josh . Coaches will send up something they see or want to see in response to an alignment , both Offense and Defense,. A tell or an alert that something is a give away I may be incorrect, but there is only one voice coming through to the Player on the field. Whether McD has over ride is certainly possible. But i would think he is talking to Frazier or Daboll when he is speaking. Good topic really. No reason the HC should not jump in ftw

I feel it really just comes down to matchups as Daboll sees them. If I. Mac is in there, i expect sweeps and trickery. we did not see much of that against Ravens. as Balt shut it down asap. That was a game i would have thought Dimarco Smith Knox and Williams would have been keys to the game.. I do not recall, and apologize in advance. One of the NFL Games Duke was doing well in , the announcer , whom i do not recall, was speaking about how he squeezed the ball when catching. Showed replays and making that point how Duke catches the ball. Very hard for defenseman to break his grip once in his hands. it was truly fun to watch. and very true. For all his faults? he gets and puts the ball away like few others and he blocks pretty badazz Love the Duke Hope he gets some game time this year Go Bills
