  1. Yeah, but what if you changed the play completely. Let's say you line up in a traditional spread formation with 4 WRs and a HB in the backfield. Assuming it's the last play of the game, they may only rush 3. Now with your 7 "smurfs", you can just toss it to your HB, who can immediately send it to one of the "smurfs", provided they are running backwards initially and to designated spots. It's unlikely that their rush of 3 will have any effect, if the ball changes hands immediately with a designated play of this sort.
  2. Will he be on the team next year? I think most would say no, but I'm curious if there are any who might argue that he should. I felt he played pretty poorly yesterday (the fans did as well - he was heckled a bit after his first punt and another that sailed out of bounds at the 25 when he should have been trying to pin them back). I always liked him, I just think that he has been lucky to even been given this second opportunity. For reference, he is dead last among punters in average punt, and third last in net average.
  3. Right. In the middle of a close game, you'll rarely if ever see it because of the field advantage it gives opponents. At the end of the game you'll rarely ever see it because you play to set up a closer opportunity to play the odds. At the end of the half, however, we have already seen it. I believe it was Janikowski (who undoubtedly has a bigger leg than Tuck) who attempted a 73. If I had a kicker who made a few 70s in practice, I would absolutely send him out there with no pressure at the end of a half.
  4. Or, we can beat the Dolphins to help keep them out, which is a much more realistic scenario.
  5. Makes you wonder about Kyle Williams. Seems to me that he is battling in a similar way, and all the more impressive - is producing. When these guys are day-to-day I really never think about the fact that they're truly going through decisions like which medicine to shoot in their body so the pain is less noticeable on the field. Either that or this Jackson character truly is injury prone.
  6. Ah yes, the guess the baby game. Facebook's alternative to apples to apples.
  7. Saw that and also laughed. I'm hoping the Bills social media intern that posted that is also in charge of checking all responses and reporting back.
  8. Assistant strength and conditioning coach. Can't stand that guy!
  9. Out of all the optimistic posts I've seen here, this is the one that actually makes the most sense. Simply it's too early. History has shown us so many different examples of failure and success that we just need to give it a bit of time to know for sure.
  10. This man (Carl Paganelli), and his two old brothers have somehow been officials for years and I never understood it. Are we to believe that three very old brothers happen to be the most qualified people to be back judges?
  11. Unveil new uniforms Hire new GM Hire new coach Sign the best defensive FA Draft a QB Some stadium renovations will be ready by the opener
  12. Absolutely. We're having a shouting match where one side simply wants to give him a chance (certainly not annoint him), while the other destroy him. I wish I could say its the result of a significant playoff drought, but I believe it has less to do with fanhood and more tondo with personality and ego.
  13. Its getting to the point where you need to stop. Logic will not get through to reactionary morons. They all listened to ESPN and wanted Geno Smith. They didnt get their guy/are afraid of "reaching". The truth is, everyone of these people CLEARLY would not have supported any all-star QB in their rookie year if it wasn't their guy.
  14. Absolutely fantastic post. It would be unreal to me for anyone to refute this. Not to mention when you compare Wilson's team to EJ's...
  15. Your point doesn't go unnoticed, but I doubt 1 in 5 season ticket holders for the Sabres are from Toronto.
  16. It could be worse folks. Just read the thread linked in the OP.
  17. Which is shocking, because somehow Leonhard managed to miss him ENTIRELY!
  18. Which is the whole point of this thread essentially. Even a guy that we mostly initially questioned/hated like Gailey - He STILL gave us a little run at some point that put our hopes real high. What will happen when Marrone gets to that point? Is he any different? Will he be able to
  19. You're probably right. It's more like they hire a guy that most fans weren't considering, which never rests will initially. We still buy into them quickly.
  20. You're not done. But yeah, it sucks.
  21. I suspect that you're a bit early to literally be done with him, but I think that this is how it works. We start to lose games in both gut-wrenching fashion like yesterday, or in pathetic fashion like the Pittsburgh game and slowly the coach loses respect by fans game-by-game until year three comes around and a majority want him gone.
