  1. BTW: Billsdaily.com is underscoring that the injury to McGahee was NOT his surgically repaired LEFT knee. But they do go on to state the Willis will probably not play next Sunday
  2. I agree - that it was his right knee that got caught in the turf
  3. Bengals | Palmer Might Play in Week 15 - from www.KFFL.com Thu, 16 Dec 2004 11:26:19 -0800 Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer (knee) held out hope that he would play in Week 15, just one day after all but declaring himself out for the game against the Buffalo Bills. "I'm hoping for this week," Palmer said Thursday, Dec. 16, during a lunch break at Paul Brown Stadium. "I'm going to see a doctor again (Friday, Dec. 17), so we'll find out (Friday)." Palmer did not go out for the beginning of practice. Instead, he continued the regimen of exercises and treatment to try to strengthen the sprained MCL in his left knee. "I've been doing tons of rehab," Palmer said. "It's getting better every day. I'm just working out all the muscles around it."
  4. what are you saying Bill? Are you saying he got his physical done? An MRI? What?
  5. This is a long range forecast but I want to take into account the "weather audience" on the bulletin board (ie: lots of Buffalonians)....to us, "snow showers" could mean as much as 4" of snow. In my current locale, 4" of snow is a "snowstorm". To be more precise (and precision in a 5-day forecast leaves a lot to be desired), we are looking at some accumulating snows of 1-3" but the winds are the bigger factor as they wil be in the 20-25 mph range with gusts (very similar to several Bills games this year at the Ralph (Cardinal, Jets, and Browns)...Hey! Those were all wins! (how nice) As the date approaches, and either I remember or someone kindly reminds me (duh), I will find this thread (or start a new one) to update the forecast. 6. Hey Bill, TD has not made any dumb trades yet. Travis only counts $1 mil against the cap next year. If healthy, that is a very reasonable price for a quality backup at a critical position. Everyone, including him by now, knows he is the backup. Besides, there is no such thing as a running back controversy. If someone offers a decent, fair trade - TD will act. Otherwise, I expect Travis to be Willis' backup Of course, Shaud Williams looked awfully good last Sunday....
  7. I waited to order all three extended versions from Amazon - it was mailed yesterday..I should get it tomorrow. (I DID watch the extended versions of 1 and 2 -- I was happy to watch someone's sloppy seconds)
  8. "I had hoped I had played my last down here," he said. "I don't want to have to go in under these circumstances. But this is the lot I've been given." He had no doubt he would be ready if called upon to start against the Bills. "I'll be fine," said Kitna, who was 9-for-13 passing for one touchdown and one interception at New England. "I've been in this league for a long time." http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art.../412140381/1066 -bottom of article One would THINK he would WANT to play - not sit on the bench. But there's that quote staring at you....
  9. It's true, DeeRay, that the bengals are better than the Browns but it is not a slam dunk that they are better than the Seahawks, Rams, and even the Dolphins OF LATE (Fish have played well their last 4 weeks!). Offensively, the bengals are #13 but the seahawks, rams and fish are 6,8 and 27 (Thus the first two have better offenses). defensively, the Bengals are #24 while the seahawks, rams and fish are 22,23, and 8th respectively (Thus all three of our former opponents have better defenses) Kitna at QB would benefit the Bills but not as much as typically occurs when the number 1 guy is out (Palmer has played well - particularly of late). Kitna is a more-than-adequate #2 (A number 1 on several teams no doubt) but he has not had a lot of practice with the number 1 team and will be prone to throw ints. All this said, yes - if Drew throws an Egg game than the season is over but I have been impressed with the way the team has picked Drew up since the Patsie debacle. He actually played poorly in the Seahawk game (at times) but the team barely burped at his misthrows. Also, Clements has SOMEHOW figured out a way to get Drew to throw screens. I can't, for the life of me at this point, figure out how he has done this but it is a fact that Drew has thrown 2-4 screens every game for the last 4 games. SUCCESSFULLY. I thought it was against his religion or something So, IMO, the Bills CAN win but this will be a hard fought game right down to the wire. No relaxing 2nd half this game folks. -RnJ
  10. give up 48 points to CLEVELAND?!?!? Were the Browns that good offensively that given Sunday ??? Kelly Holcomb was at QB at that point. That probably meant a lot but the Bengal defense is ranked at #24 will the Brown defense is #21. The Bills definitely need to score on the Bengals. Their offense is too good to shut down (ranked #13 while the Browns are ranked #28)..of course there it is again the #28 offense scored 48 points......
  11. So, obviously, New England has lost its OC for next year. But can ND afford to wait until Early February to get their coach in place? Break up the Patriots!! woof woof
  12. I have 2 upper deck 50 yard line tix for sale sec 311, row 19 pm me if interested (Hammer - you haven't contacted me as to whether or not you sold these so I am checking nibbles at TBD) RichNJoisy CNJBBB-Pres
  13. egad that's a lot of points I am glad I am not in this for the money (well, not much ) I just want a Bills victory period But I do enjoy lots of opportunities to sing the Shout! song. -RnJ "Is it Sunday Yet"?
  14. Thanks guys! As per always, kudos go to Mark Weeks my "co-chef-in-arms". At the tailgate, Mark does most of the cooking. At Bills Central, we split the chore. I also want to add my recent disapointment with Duff's - they seem to be overcooking their wings something fierce making them too chewy. Wings should be crispy AND juicy (tender) such that the meat strips right off the the bones. I understand there has been a management change in the past year or so - it could be they are cutting corners somewhere. What this means for me and my wife (RevNJoisy) is that we will be trying other establishments in the future for wings. As we say at Bills Central...."Is it Sunday yet?" -Rich Pres , CNJBBB
  15. Congrats Sid!!!! Woohoo!!!! Now you have more time for Bills football (heh heh) -Rich
  16. Kota, Don't forget, Willis is REALLY a rookie. Few rookies make huge impacts their first year. Plus, he has not FULLY recovered from his injury (not to mention he has been playing for weeks with a bad ankle on his previously-injured leg) I am not sure what it will take for him to "impress you" . Perhaps you thought he should be like Barry Sanders? Willis has shown skill at blocking, he has been o.k at receiving. he has been unexpectedly tough in crowds (pushing the pile) and - note this - players who have played against him this year have commented on "HOW DECEPTIVELY FAST HE IS". His nagging injuries are my major concern. Hopefully, this will work itself out and he will have a long productive career. BTW - a better comparison might be to think of Willis as the next Emmitt Smith but WITH SPEED. It will be VERY interesting to see if WIllis ends up better than Edgerrin James. -RnJ
  17. Remember, these were comments from those who purcahsed the vehicle. Soooo, if they think it hauls well, then it does...get it?l
  18. All you Future Hummer II purchasers, be aware that, according to an AP Report,"Federal Regulators are investigating the Hummer H2 after receiving three reports of WHEELS FALLING OFF the vehicle (!) the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said yesterday. Involved in the investigation are Hummer H2s from 2003 and 2004 model years. GMC said there are approximately 59,670 of those on the road" (getting great gas mileage no doubt). Four drivers reported a "fracture in the steering knuckle , which allows the wheels to turn. All four reported they lost control of their Hummers. In three of the four cases, a wheel fell off. ************** Last year, AAA reviewed the Hummer H2 and they always list the three top reason customers liked it and the three top reasons customers disliked it (these were people who bought the vehicle). The top three were what one would expect...."felt Safe", "Could see well in traffic" and "good hauler". The bottom three had two expected and one very unexpected comment. See if you can pick out the unexpected comment, 1.) Poor gas mileage 2.) Hard to get in/ get out of 3.) Handled poorly on pavement
  19. Amen Fez..... a different... uh inept.... uh crew
  20. Please tell me you're joking? Please. We CAN'T get the same inept crew for the third straight week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Certainly the Bengals game appears to be the hardest bump in the road before Pittsburgh but 1.) let's get by Cleveland first 2.) The bengals SHOULD lose this week to the Patriots which would effectively knock them out of the playoff hunt. Although a spoiler role is a powerful incentive, having the chance to make the playoffs is more powerful. So, (gulp), go Patriots! and (ugh), Go Dolphins! (vs Denver) and (bleah) Go Pittsburgh (Jets) and (ehh, o.k.) Go Giants! (Baltimore) - hey, if they can blow a 17 point lead at home to the Bengals, then anything can happen to them IMO. oh, and Go Bears! (Jacksonville)
  22. Tasker has to struggle to say anything good about Buffalo. he's just like MacGuire used to be before he "earned" the right to be a Bills Homer. Criqui was awful again for the 2nd week in a row. At least he didn't mix up McGahee and Henry this time. It didn't help that the stats guys in the booth kept getting the down and distance wrong PLUS at one point they had David Boston as a RB on the Bills. I wish I were kidding........What a guy! he got a 1st down for us yesterday. Didn't you all know that?
