USA TODAY is reporting: In past years teams and networks knew the regular-season schedule a day in advance and some matchups were reported early. Now they will receive it only HOURS (my emphasis) before it is announced today on a two-hour special on NFL Network, which reaches 25 million homes. "This is a big day for the fans, and we wanted everyone to get the schedule information as simultaneously as possible," NFL Network publicist Seth Palansky said Tuesday. ****************** I wonder if the NFL Access channel is getting premium commercial $$ Of course, then why not release the schedule IN primetime (say, 8 pm)?? down the road I guess....

Same page here Rockie - My motto is "If I can't take care of it, I have too much yard". Plus, the exercise for me (forced) is very important. I sit on my big fat yaknow typing on a keyboard all day (except for my daily jog of 3 1/4 miles). Once mowing season starts, I mow everyday about 30-45 minutes right when I get home. Spring in new Jersey - actually, it's fantastic! (really!) Unfortunately, wings have NOT been conducive to a trim waistline. Oh, did I mention I like beer? Dang! Now I want wings!!!!

The NFL Access Channel has gone from "announcement of schedule at noon on the 13th" to TBD at 2 pm on the 13th to nadda (a repeat of some earlier show) aggg! I want my schedule...now!

If Insider is correct, then it is TRAVIS who screwed himself (again) by being stupid. How can he now hold up the process by demanding mucho dinaro for a contract extension? AFTER whining about how he MUST BE TRADED and that THE BILLS were holding up the deal? I expect - if the final sticking point is his contract extension - that he will sign for a low bonus with tons of backloaded money. Something like 4 years, $16 mill with a $1.5 mil bonus, base dollars of 625K, $ 2mil, $5 mil, $6.875 mil . He'll see years 3 and 4 ...yeh, right. Guessing TD's move at #44 is sure to be wrong but a Center or CB makes a lot of sense unless a really good TE falls there.

usually on a Thursday and before the draft in April so, my guesstimate is April 21st the 14th would be my second guess

Bills Daily is reporting: Bannan Experiment: The Bills plan on experimenting a lot on the offensive line since they have lost some depth during free agency. DT Justin Bannan is getting a full look at Guard after playing in some short yardage situations there last year. The move isn't necessarily permanent, if he doesn't grasp it well, he'll move back to defense. Jason Peters move to tackle seems to be permanent, he will no longer get reps at tight end when the team hits the field for mini camps and training camp. - Brady Contract Extension Stalled -- Fri Mar 25, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com * Tom Curran of the Providence Journal reports that QB Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are still working on a new contract. The latest offer from the Patriots includes a $24 million bonus; however, the structure of the bonus is not to Brady’s liking. “The Patriots wanted to pay Brady his $24-million signing bonus in four installments. More than half of the bonus money would come in the first two years of the deal, but unpaid bonus money in the later years of the contract would not be guaranteed. That would mean if Brady got hurt after a few years, portions of the $24-million bonus would never be realized. Brady, who expected to have his deal done before he left on a trip to Europe earlier this month, balked at the "unusual proposal.” As Curran states, “One interesting subplot to the negotiations is that unless the NFL's owners and the NFLPA agree to a new collective bargaining agreement, the 2007 season is an uncapped year. If -- and that's a big if -- there's an uncapped season and Brady is on the market, the contract he'd be in line to sign could be immense.”

I agree with the other posters here - relax. This is one of those occasions when it's best to think, "Hmmm, who's the adult in the room?" Donahoe is not about to be distracted by the rantings of the "children" (Th and his agent - who sounds like he is just as "smart" as travis) It IS possible that TH will remain a Bill. But it's unlikely. The very fact that the Bills CAN keep him is what is making him more valuable. Remember this: Donahoe was able to trade Peerless Price when everyone and their kid sister knew the Bills were not going to keep him at the franchise price. This time, Donahoe's trade partners can't be sure. Plus, TD has a lot more trade partners than he did with Peerless. Sure, RB's are not as valuable as QB's or OT's. But TH is CHEAP RIGHT NOW. He says he will play out his contract OR sign a new deal if traded. Thanks for saying that Travis!! . TH is not the problem. Donahoe is. He wants "Mo Money" ("money" in this instance, is a 2nd round pick OR a player and a pick) The only risk here is that TH stays AND holds out. How many of you actually believe he will sit out - which will mean his contract rolls over to next year PLUS he gets no money while he sits. I really love this - TD is playing hardball as I think he should. New England's ripoff trade of the Bengals last year is probably causing us some trouble since Green may be trying to let that stupid trade (Dillon ior a 2nd rounder) set the standard for a Pro Bowl RB. Fortunately, TD knows that we can keep Travis no problem - he only costs $1.25 mil and he would be backing up a RB less than two years removed from an ACL tear. Travis' threatened holdout is a factor but his impatience is probably only going to make the deal less likely. Too bad he is dumber than dogdirt. But he's a very good RB and thank goodness TD knows this! By the way, Travis' threat to cause problems inthe locker room IF he decides to show up if the trade falls through is an empty threat. There is no such thing as a RB controversy. He either plays well when he is handed the rock or he doesn't - same goes for Willis. WIllis thrives on competition. Travis???...not so much. Travis will simply get beaten up in the locker room if he trys to sow dissension.

That has been my conclusion too unless the Bills were truly unimpressed with Shelton. Ever since the peerless price "deal" with Atlanta (not to mention the hardball victory TD had with Sam Adams)I have tried to be patient with Donahoe - which is why I do think he is squeezing Green's cajones for something "extra". If I force myself to guess - I think it will be a 5th rounder this year or a conditional 3rd or 4th rounder next year. Green is probably offering a 7th rounder next year - no conditions All of the Bills moves seem to be preparing for a Shelton trade (No OT signing, allowing jennings to leave, clearing cap space of Hey! ~ $3 mil, signing Burns). The deal - if it happens - should take place no later than draft day -

This has been mentioned before but make note that the Cardinals have publicly announced their starting offensive line for the 2005 season. It does not include Shelton. This means they now have a $3 mil per year backup lineman. There is no way they will keep Shelton under these circumstances. This means the Cardinals must either trade Shelton or release him. The Bills can use Travis and he's cheap and only signed for one year. We don't HAVE to do anything. This puts the Bills in the drivers seat UNLESS Shelton is really really really good. But if he were THAT good, why hasn't anyone offered the Cardies a first day draft pick for him? Huh Huh? If the Cardinals want anything other than a 4th rounder or Travis, they wil have to up the ante. Travis can complain all he wants but he is OUR commodity. The Bills would STUPID to give him away.

As of 03-22-05, we know the Bills won't start against New England (that eliminates two of the sixteen possibilities) we know they won't play at Oakland (13/16 remain) and we now know they won't play at San diego (The North County Times reports the San Diego Chargers will open the 2005 regular season at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 11. The game will be the second game of a Fox national doubleheader. The Chargers-Cowboys game, which kicks off at 1:15 p.m., is one of several key games announced Monday by the NFL to be played on what is being billed as the 2005 Kickoff Weekend. The Sept. 11 prime-time game on ESPN will pit the Indianapolis Colts against the Baltimore Ravens. The rest of the 2005 regular-season schedule will be announced at a later date. ) That puts us at 12/16 possibilities Eliminate Home vs Atlanta (they play the Eagles) - now we are down to 11/16 which include: Home vs Jets, Miami, Denver, kansas City, Carolina or Houston (six possibilities) On the Road vs Jets, Miami, New orleans, Tampa, or Cinncinnati (5 possibilities) We also know the Bills will play on Sunday, September 11, 2005 for Game 1
