  1. I agree...and while I think most of our "busts" are truly busts, there's been a number of them who simply didn't fit into our systems (John Parella springs to mind) or were the victims of bad coaching (Antowain Smith)...I'm hoping JP fits into that group and can turn it around in Seattle
  2. My cat could write a better article than that and with fewer errors 2008, we started 4-0, 4-1, 5-1....didn't go 5-0 Schonert was brought in a few years ago, not in 2009 I doubt Ralph was disgusted by the no-huddle, but by the way we were running it the no-huddle wasn't scrapped before the season, but a few weeks into the season Jauron wasn't fired at the end of the year, but mid-season
  3. 1st preseason game is Aug 13. By NFL rules, no team can start camp until 15 days before their 1st preseason game.....and few teams start camp later (The Bills have followed the 15 day rule to the letter as long as I can remember). So going by that, camp is expected to open up July 29
  4. That was 98....the 99 version of Flutie was way below average...but as far as having a good arm? Maybe in his CFL days, but his lack of arm strength was brought up repeatedly by Jaws and Hodge on NFL Matchup....his lack of arm strength may have been a major reason he didn't throw the ball to Moulds and Reed when they were open in 99...he couldn't get the ball that far
  5. Antowain was poorly coached in 98 and 99...Bishop Harris had him lowering his head to present a smaller target for tacklers (He was 6'2", tall for a RB)...but it hurt his vision...didn't see holes close and open He wasn't doing that in 97 when Thurman was basically coaching him and by the end of the 2000 season, James Saxon had that bad habit worked out of him
  6. Truthfully, benching Flutie when they did was a bad move and I can't stand the guy or the way he played for the bulk of the 1999 season. However, the main issue with how he played that season, tucking the ball and running instead of throwing to wide open WRs, wasn't happening quite as much late in the season. Now, would starting Flutie have won the game? I doubt it..it's doubtful he would've gotten sacked in the endzone like RJ did but he threw almost as many picks as he did TDs that year...might've thrown a pick for TD which would've been even worse than the safety not me....what? one year earlier? I don't think a year would make that big a difference and to suggest bringing him in earlier than that is akin to heresy...we had an actual NFL QB until a year before the midget was brought it.
  7. Guess you didn't watch that closely....the 3rd loss...was a case of the defense tanking it at the end of the game after we had the Rams beat...the 4th game of the season, which RJ started, was a win with one of the loudest crowds the stadium has ever had. People saying it was the great defense are talking about the 1999 season (LEARN TO READ)...Flutie gets plenty of credit for 1998...don't accuse people of saying something they aren't to make your point....dishonesty is a disgusting character trait...guess your parents never taught you about being honest? Dickerson's an idiot....and no one is saying that Flutie wasn't a big contributor to the playoff run in 98...if you think the midget was any good in 99, you better keep an eye out for the DEA because you have to be on drugs...HE STUNK in 1999...ran around like a chicken with its head cut off, not throwing the ball to WIDE OPEN WRs...our #1 defense that year (AGAIN, 1999, not 1998 is what we're referring to) carried the team wrong...the team won games...sometimes partly because of Flutie and many times in 1999, in spite of Flutie Guess you didn't notice we had a patchwork O-line that would've made any O-line we've fielded since then look like a bunch of all-Pros
  8. Let me just educate you on one of the basic truths of football...it's a team game and while he played well in 98, to say he played well in 99 is ridiculous to say the least...the #1 defense in the league carried the team and kept the team winning when the egotistical midget refused to throw the ball to wide open receivers with regularity. Moulds and Reed were wide open a lot when Flutie decided to tuck and run...drives that would've ended with TDs with a real QB stalled and brought Chris Mohr onto the field thanks to the midget. Giving credit to any single player for wins-losses is ignorant as well as insulting to that player's teammates, regardless of position.
  9. let me dumb it down for you wishing misfortune on good person=bad being happy for misfortune happening to bad person=not so bad
  10. with people like you around, who don't read the posts they quote, it's a necessity
  11. Wouldn't you automatically punch them in the face just for being a Pats* fan, though?
  12. except for that one in 2006 training camp, you mean?
  13. let me give you a link to check out in regards to how well you understood what I said
  14. team game and while JP wasn't good enough on a consistent basis, it wasn't due to a lack of effort...unlike those losers McGahee and Peters. Add into that Losman's a classy guy, wishing injury on him is reprehensible I guess we'll have to agree to disagree...when someone gets a lot of money and adulation from a team and its fans and not only doesn't appreciate it but insults said fans and team, I don't think he deserves all the money. Maybe it's not so much a case of wishing injury on those two losers, but I sure as hell don't feel bad for them when they get hurt and if the injury ends their career (not life-threatening, though), it's just a case of karma coming back at them.Anyone committing crimes is another story altogether...convicted felons deserve lifetime bans
  15. just shows what type of person you are There's only 2 ex-Bills in the NFL who deserve career-ending injuries...McGahee and Peters...they trashed the Bills, the fans, and the city with their words and actions and didn't give their full effort. JP was exactly the opposite and still lives in Buffalo from what I heard...maybe because he knows that there are a lot more fans who appreciate the effort he put in, even though it didn't work out, than there are so-called fans like you watching film wasn't an issue...from all reports, he put in as much time on film study as anyone...it may be a case where he was never properly taught what to look for in film study sessions, though. Hopefully Fassell helped him out in that area.
  16. grow up...I hope you have even harsher thoughts for Jason Peters, who basically played matador on that play allowing the sack Ole!!
  17. He certainly acts like it by all reports He's good but, like another really good LT, he's lazy...Jason Peters is that other LT
  18. Corrected If you don't know that Marv was just a figurehead GM with the exception of hiring Jauron, you must've just gotten out of a coma or something Well said...quite honestly, I'm ashamed to see the big mouths who launch personal attacks at players labeled as Bills fans
  19. Good news...the cowards who are trying to chase him off Twitter aren't getting their way
  20. agreed...it'd be nice if he made more plays but attacking him because he's just a very good S instead of a great one is childish..but truth be told, I would've been surprised if he never got attacked on Twitter or Facebook. Let's be honest...there's a lot of people out there with big internet muscles...talking trash from behind a keyboard like the cowards they are but would never say a thing in person and once anyone is out on the internet, they become a target, no matter how deserving or undeserving they are of the insults they receive.
  21. yeah, I know what you mean...but I don't see Leodis going anywhere so it should be safe
  22. He said he'll stay with 21 unless 28 becomes available http://rope.wedg-fm.fimc.net/Bull/cj%20spiller%20051110.mp3
  23. agreed...personally I hope Brohm gets the job and if Edwards ever sees the field for us, it's to hand off and kneel down at the end of a win...but I still want him to learn how to be a good QB
  24. It was a 4-year deal....and I thought it was common knowledge that Marv was a GM in name only. John Guy headed up pro personnel, Tom Modrak headed up college personnel, and Dick Jauron made the final call on who to bring in and the like
