  1. Yeah, I didn't necassarily take it as "nitpicking", more just like film study. Similar to what you would go over the day or two after a game. What was good, bad, and what was best. He was pretty positive about Josh. JT thought Allen had a good game. People need to calm down. Pointing out what could be better 3 days after watching the game film is not the same as saying "your QB blows".
  2. I am in the capital region. Absolutely SHOCKED that we are getting Giants v. SF. given the injuries to both of them and the momentum the Bills have at the moment. Not to mention Buffalo v. LAR is essentially a pick em at the moment in Vegas.
  3. I bet this happens all the time in the NFL. These guys basically get paid to either crash into somebody with the force of a Toyota or get crashed into by a Toyota. Over and over again for about 3 hours. Then they spend the entire off season to get as strong as possible so that it hurts the other guy more. These guys are all doped up for 4-5 months of the year.
  4. To add on, most of the time when this happens it isn't career altering. Imagine I needed a cortisone shot to do my job. Doc slips too far in, punctures my lung. Now instead of being say a "manager" I am immediately some sort of "support rep". So sure it happens, but rarely is the result career altering. Also, this is why doctors carry a TON of insurance. Sometimes very costly accidents happen.
  5. Especially for injuries. We are MUCH too quick to administer a shot, give pills, or perform surgery. Most herniated discs don't need to be operated on. Most knee, hip, back, neck, shoulder, etc. issues can be fixed with a really good physio or S/C coach.
  6. Also the shot does not make the pain go away. It just goes from stabbing to throbbing. I had a stress fracture that was misdiagnosed as something else by a dumbarse physio on OKC. I was told I could row through it without making anything worse, that it was "just about pain management" I was getting shots and taking dos packs, plus wrapping my ribs to practice 2-3 times per day. I went through World Championship selection on it. I actually raced the Canadian Team on it. It still hurt like hell every.single.day. all day....until my rib finally flat out broke just warming up one morning. Agassi talks about it too. Cortisone never made his back 100% it just made it bearable.
  7. Agreed to an extent, but let a guy dream! For Josh to push the 40M+ mark with an extension this upcoming off-season, he will need to basically continue at a similar pace he is now. Which is not terribly sustainable, especially considering his past play. I expect him to continue to to be much better than years past going forward. But not 70% 380 yards per game good. The more realistic value if he were to be extended this off season is probably $36-38M per. So I am not too far off from 32M/Goff money.
  8. I don't get the sense that Josh will demand max pay. At least from my perspective, I would prefer to be in the best situation possible for $30M rather than leverage my team/situation for $40M. I get the other side of the coin, that is a $50M difference over a 5 year deal. I think Josh will need to be wildly consistent to get an offer this off season, something he has not been since he got to Buffalo. But he does seem to be showing it. All that together. I wouldn't be surprised if we extended Josh at $160M-ish over 5 years $65M-ish gauranteed. Somewhere around the Goff range. Also, I think that would drive a dude like Baker crazy, who seems like he would chase the $$$. As things stand right now, that would drive a Baker contract, probably under $30M per year. haha!
  9. With a 10 Mil cap hit, could have just kept Lawson (10.3 M this year)
  10. luckily Singletary has not figured that out yet...
  11. With all the talk about, "well it was just the Jets/Dolphins", stuff like that has me hopeful that the train does not come off the tracks with Josh and the offense/passing game. Hopefully the defense can find their 2019 form against a real NFL team (not the Jets). At some point the passing game will stall, it just happens. The run game needs to be better than it has been. The RB's have been bad to meh in their first two showings. We are two weeks in, I am hopeful overall. Go Bills!
  12. Good article from BB.com. A few good nuggets. Brown told Daboll to keep feeding Diggs. Then at half time, Diggs asks Daboll to get Smoke and Beasley more involved. Also thought it was good insight from McD that the offense was winning the day against our Defense this week, then talking about how that group is communicating so well/often. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/how-selflessness-and-communication-have-led-to-a-strong-start-for-buffalo-s-rece?fbclid=IwAR1uTsPoDb-BuTj2stWbPbWgnJFyS6P7_qdQoSQ-N6ucvBSyuE5H9IeLf18 So, with so much attention on Diggs, fellow receiver John Brown hopped on the headset. "Smoke gets on the headset with me," Daboll recalled. "He said, 'Keep feeding 14.'" "Then we get into halftime and Diggs is like, 'Hey, we can get Smoke over here, we can get [wide receiver Cole Beasley] over here.' They're working together and they're working for one another and when you have a group of guys – particularly in that room – that are unselfish like that, you like to see that as a coach." "Last week I remember vividly, the defense was taking the field to get their work in and the offense was going off and Josh was having a conversation with one of the receivers just to follow up," McDermott said.
  13. I get it. The fact that it irks me is super dumb, and actually being bothered by it then bothers me more. Haha.
  14. Love Dion, but can we drop the Schnow thing. It wasn't a good trademark last year, and its not good now.
  15. I was like "who the eff remembers who was getting starting reps the first few days of camp a year ago". Well, it turns out you do. Ha! Well done sir! Found these from Leslie Frazier. He came into camp as the defacto starter since he finished 2018 : “He’s the incumbent starter, somebody has got to take it from him,” Frazier said to Wojton. “He’s the starter, whether there’s guys gaining on him or not. It matters, but it doesn’t matter. Levi’s the starter.”
  16. Gaines was hurt on August 4, 2019....the 8th day of camp.
  17. Meh, hate is a strong word, sure they don't hate him. But Wallace was picked on quite a bit last year at CB2. They were so not thrilled with his play that they didn't just bring in one guy to replace him, they brought in 2. Wallace isn't supposed to be starting, he should be CB4 when it comes to playing on the outside in this defense with both Norman and Gaines in front of him on the depth chart.
  18. We could have Norman back by the Raiders, right?
  19. I don’t think KJ was/is ever playing on the outside. Basically they picked Taron Johnson over him. I could be wrong on that though.
  20. Yeah. When Norman went down I thought for sure they’d bring somebody in. The Bills tried to not have him start. EJ Gaines opting out and Normal getting hurt this early probably wasn’t part of the plan.
  21. I think the Rams are over rated. They are good, but they aren't a buzz saw. Winnable but more difficult than what we have played. Defense needs to be better than they were yesterday. Hoping that was an anomaly.
  22. WTF are you talking about? I thought Allen didn't play well in 2019. I didn't think he was as close to putting it all together as some other posters. He has played really well in the first two showings this year. So far this is gigantic leap from what we saw from him in 2019. I don't have any issues saying that. Is this your big "gotcha moment"? Mango liked other posts that agreed that Allen had a long way to go to be a viable option long term. Yeah, I did it, caught me red handed. I still agree with that from 2019. In 2020, he has come a long way so far. It is awesome!
  23. I have been as critical as any on Allen. Yesterday and last week are the exact thing I have been screaming for from him. Stop playing down to opponents, learn how to control velocity on throws, and do the right thing conistantly, not pull the big play out of your arse here and there. It has been refreshing, hope he keeps this up!
  24. I think national pundits will swing fromAllen Truthers v. Allen Haters”, to great game “glad he’s arriving. Would love to see more consistency. The big argument will be that until he proves it consistently he hasn’t done it at all’s This will be a shift in his favor.
