Mario's contract is one of the top off season items in my opinion. Has he played incredible football.......he sure has. Even I think he realizes that in order to help the team get over the hump, keep most of the defensive players and sign a few stud free agents, he will need to compromise. I would suspect that with how the Pegula's handle their business (which I admire whiole heartedly), they may have a quiet hand shake deal in place.

My only concern with the hiring of Rex Ryan is this - another new defensive coordinator. Sure the new defense will be Ryan's D and I get that. But the for the Bills, if reports hold true of course that Schwartz will move on, the Bills D will now have their 6th defensive coordinator in 7 seasons. Again, this concern probably will go lighten up since the new D will be Rex Ryan's D. Still, that many D Coordinators over that span is a lot.

I disagree with most of this article. My view - now that the Bills have a stable ownership who is willing to spend + offering a coach a position with a lot of power + an ever improving roster ( - QB), the Bills are actually an attractive organization to go to.

I am really happy for Mario. In 2011, when his contract was coming due in Houston and he suffered the pectoral injury, I still had him pegged as the #1 FA target. First year was rocky for sure. These last two year combined however have been two of the best back to back years by a DE in recent memory. Very ahppy for him. He has many years left. I do hope that some how Pegula-bucks works out some sort of 3rd party endorsement deal or something with Mario so that Mario has the appetite to restrucutre hsi contract after this year. We cant lose Jerry Hughes or Marcel Dareus.

Cant agree more. It irks me to this day that a non football guy aka Brandon, was given the green light to hire Marrone a .500 coach at a subpar D 1 school. He either needs to be completely walled off from anything to do with football or shown the door.

I agree here. I believe Schwartz needs at least another season as a DC leading the Bills to even greater heights to further "detoxify" the memories of his less than stellar HC performance in Detroit.

I was so hoping to see Johnny "The Mouth" Football get blown up by one of our defenders. Glad to see Pettine parked his butt back on the bench. Think its comincal that a press conference was needed to announce the decision. Really no reason to make the change from Hoyer. Hoyer and Orton had similar days, however our RB's didnt fumble and our D played lights out.

What exactly did Foles do against the Colts.....on the road.......from behind......in the 4th quarter? The losses to AF and ARZ were very close games, Foles drove the Eagles down on the last drive with a chance to win each game

I am a long time Bills fan but also an Eagles fan since I have now lived in the Philly area now since '99. I attended 2 games here this year in Philly. A few things to know about the Eagles offense and Foles before he was hurt: The O Line has been a mess due to injuries and suspensions. I dont have the stat but I think the starting 5 have only played 1 maybe 2 games together In my view, Shady lost too much weight in the off season. He still has explosion, but its obvious he lost some of his power / strength so to speak Foles has started a total of 24 games in his career In the opener vs JAX then again vs STL, there was one issue that was so obvious, it stood out like a sore thumb. No Desean Jackson. Defenses have not been respecting the deep long ball or team speed. With that, defenses have also been keeping defenders closer to the LOS which affects Sahdy (See above) All this said, i would take Foles in a heart beat. He is a good team mate, very smart, has a good pocket awareness and yes has a canon for an arm. The Bill still need to do something about Hackett as the OC however.

Always was and always will be a Flutie fan. For a franchise to recover from multiple super bowl losses, the organization has not recovered from the decision to bench Flutie and the loss to the Titans in the playoffs.

Because he was passed over a few times for Pat's D Coordinator position. His group is going to decide if we win / lose, not the NE TE's.
