  1. Ok it's on the defense...
  2. They get the good/flashy stats, sacks and ints, but can't stop a team on 3rd down and long and give up huge chunks in the running game. As much as people get frustrated with EJ I find myself more frustrated with the defense.
  3. Jags 7/9 on 3rd downs and 92 yards on 9 carries in the 3rd qtr... Yea the defense has improved.
  4. This defense needs to step up. The offense came back and gave them a 2 possession game. I'd like to see the defense hold a team back 1 time this year. Sto
  5. There's the defense we know and love...
  6. He wants to be a team player and leader, like the one fans B word he isn't.
  7. SJ is obviously not there today with his mom passing away.
  8. Defense got lucky there...
  9. Defense has a lead, let's see them hold the Jags I'm the second half.
  10. After allowing a long catch on 3rd down, I'll take it.
  11. Nice 94 yard drive there. EJ shaking off the rust? Time for the defense to make a stop.
  12. And a sack/fumble and they are losing...
  13. Ugh, run defense again...
  14. Some fans expectations of EJ directly correlate to lasts years rookie QB class. They saw the success of Luck, RGIII, Wilson and to an extent Kaepernick(although he was in his second year). People assumed this would be the same with EJ and if not he is a crappy QB, obviously. Fast forward to this year and except for Wilson, all of these QBs have struggled.
  15. I don't get the bolded, the days of big plugging MLB's are dying (see Luke Kuechly).
  16. I was never for or against the cut, all I heard about all preseason long was about how much talent he had. I never saw it, not once. I understand why the Bills cut him, they wanted someone on their team that had shown he could work hard at the role he was given, which was a ST position. Loads of guys come out of college with all sorts of talent and upside. There just isn't enough positions on an NFL team for them all or it doesn't work out with the team. Example: Jerry Hughes.
  17. To the bolded, what if he never looks good again. Is it still a mistake?
  18. I wouldn't exactly say it's low risk. Hogan plays on ST's and has made quite a few tackles. They would need Rodgers to do that as well and with what happened in pre season and not even trying to run down the interception, how can the coaches let that fly? All of this talk about Rodgers is completely pre-mature anyways, he has one good game, with Andrew Luck throwing him the ball on a decimated Indy receiving core and all of a sudden the Bills made a mistake? How about we let Rodgers have another couple games before people pull the whole "I told you so" card.
  19. I think the point he is trying to make is the coaches went with what they saw on the field. These guys are given once in a lifetime opportunities to play, especially UDFA, and I think you have to go with the guy that shows more. You can't just say, well this guy practiced and played like crap but we should keep him because he has more supposed potential over the guy who bust's his butt and preforms and actually shows something. What message does that send to the team when you do something like that?
  20. I don't think any of them should be replaced at this point. I do think the Bills should add an actual QB coach and take that job away from Hackett. Need someone to mentor EJ and Hackett can't do that and call all the plays IMO.
  21. Looking back at at Kelly's first year is, IMO, glorified hindsight. Sure, you can say you knew he was going to be good because the guys in the hall of fame now. I'm sure if you ask any fan they'll all say "yea, I definitely saw the talent." And seeing as the internet wasn't around back then, we have no way of disputing that. There were legitimate fans calling for Reich to start in his first couple years, so obviously it wasn't consensus with his talent by some fans.
