I think your thinking to much about selling out the games. The NFL makes the majority of its money on TV deals. Fortunately, the Bills finished 11th in the NFL last year in terms of TV market. Thats pretty freaking good for a small market team on a 14 year bender. This should be the basis of your argument. They Bills are in the top 1/3 of the league in terms of TV market, the support for the Bills is there.

Add to that, if the NFL was all about making money, why give Cleveland another franchise. Surely they could have looked elsewhere that could have made them more money. It's not all about the money, IMO. And even if they were, as Bandit pointed out they are ahead of a lot of major teams in terms of pure profit. Add to that they finished 11th in TV markets in the NFL, all of that after having 14 terrible seasons.

So the 11th best TV market in the NFL, Buffalo, is a black hole? Interesting. And lets be realistic, the NFL gets the majority of its money from TV...

And the NFL relocation fee which I believe is another $275 million...

RIP. Thank you for bringing an NFL franchise to Western NY and shaping the NFL to the way it is today.

2014 NFL Compensatory Draft Picks
Wayne Cubed replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've explained the same earlier this year, when the discussion came up. I thought there would be enough teams this year and the Bills wouldn't get one, so I wasn't surprised. There's a guy in a philly paper that's correctly "predicted" the teams/picks for 3 years and he didn't have the Bills getting one either, so again not a surprise. -
2014 NFL Compensatory Draft Picks
Wayne Cubed replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The bold is true, but if not enough teams have had a net loss, they will go to teams that have a net zero. Meaning lost someone gained someone equally. Happened to Indy last year Indy and NYG last year. They obviously had enough teams this year. -

Or Steve Young or Brett Favre or Drew Brees... who teams essentially gave up on and traded or released them. -

Don't you think what your doing is a bit revisionist history? Of course now you can say they knew, cause well they turned into amazing QBs. But to say you know back then that these teams knew, after 1 year, that these QBs were going to turn into HOF franchise QBs is a just as much revisionist history. What about the QBs who people knew weren't going to be great, who ended up being great? Suppose those teams knew too, they were all seeing, I guess. They fooled everyone. -
Report: Bills express interest in Kenny Britt
Wayne Cubed replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right, so let me get this straight, signing Kenny Britt is going to put SJ's job in jeopardy? Is this the same Kenny Britt who hasn't had 1000 yards receiving? Is this the same Britt who hasn't caught more than 45 balls? The same Britt who has made it through a whopping 1 season without getting injured, that being his rookie one? Your words have been marked. -
Taylor Lewan Charged With Assault?
Wayne Cubed replied to BIllsNation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just had a bit of a scroll back through Chris Browns articles from 2012 and 2013 pre draft. As far as him tipping his hat, it may be a possibility. But saying that, this time last year and in 2012, he was all over the board with where he thought the Bills would go. In 2012 he looked mostly at OT and there were a 2 articles on Gilmore, one was after his visit, which he did with every player, and one was right before the draft he quoted a scout about Gilmore. Last year, again he was all over the place at this time last year. After Manuel visited he wrote an arcticle, much like he did with most pre draft visits. As the draft approached he did jump on the Manuel train. Much more than he did the previous year with Gilmore. Saying all that, if the Bills are going to tip there hat via CB, I think it'll be much much closer to the draft. Even then it might be hindsight that makes us as fans think he is saying something because he writes a lot of articles on different players. -

Does that take into account the roughly $5 million they'll need to sign rookies? -

I'm confused, the Saints have like no cap space.... Are they really going to try to pull this off? -
Jason La Canfora@JasonLaConfora Jets were unable to work a deal with emerging T Austin Howard, and he is hitting the market. Warm the jet up Buddy!!

I couldn't disagree more. Every offseason since he was drafted by the Pats*, Mallett is brought up in possible trade discussions. That he would surely garner a 1st or 2nd round pick from a team and that the Pats* were smart to draft him in the 3rd round. And yet, nothing has materialized, why could that be? Well for one, he struggles with accuracy. In his preseason games, starting against people who probably aren't playing in the NFL, he hasn't thrown above 55%. His YPA for all of preseason play time is 5.3. Secondly, his decision making is suspect. You would think this would improve over time, yet in 3 preseason's it hasn't. He still misses wide open receivers and throws some terrible interceptions. Bill, you are focusing too much on the arm and his play in college.

He's also a huge fan of the slow-motion action sequence. He uses it in every movie. It's horrible, because he over uses it. Much like the low angle slow motion, which he also over uses. Lots of directors are known for specific shots, like Scorsese who is known for long tracking shots or freeze frames, but they work and he doesn't use them in every single film.

Recent binges include: House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Game of Thrones and Luther (BBC show) After Breaking Bad finished it was a bit difficult to find shows that I thought matched the quality of writing but I'd say the Netflix show's (House of Cards/Orange is the New Black) come pretty close in terms of quality and acting.

Bills to pull out of Toronto deal per Mark Gaughan
Wayne Cubed replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm confused, you talk about LaCanfora then link to a Will Brenson article that doesn't mention anything that you are talking about. Bit odd. -
I just don't see how this possibly could be a good move. You take the 3rd best Tackle in draft (someone who hasn't proved anything) and replace someone who has already proved he can preform in the top 10 in the league at LT. All because you see a hole at LG? Wouldn't the smarter move be to draft the BPA, which IMO Lewan wouldn't be at #9 with a run on QB's, and then draft a Guard in round 2 or 3?
