I have no clue what to expect from this game... OL injuries and our "pass blocking back" being injured won't help the pass game, but maybe Peterman will actually throw the ball before he gets sacked, who knows.
He's a rookie in his first game, playing on the road, on the west coast, and against a coach who is holding a grudge probably. I expect a bad game. I'll form an opinion at the end of the year.
I don't get why 26CB gets so much **** here. He provides an invaluable service, and his posts are often the catalyst for discussion. And I say that even though we don't always see eye to eye
This whole thing is a win/win imo. If Peterman performs... playoffs. If he doesn't... we go into the draft looking to pick a QB in the early rounds, and that's exciting also.
Pro: Defense might be required to respect the passing game if Peterman hits a couple passes on a stacked box.
Con: QB is no longer a real threat when it comes to scrambles, read options, and called QB runs.
I'm predicting a Ryan Fitzpatrick type performance. He'll gun it in there, but he'll miss a few risks, which will turn into interceptions. Not because I think that's his ceiling, but rather it'll be growing pains as a rookie.
Considering how important he's been for our offense, I actually think it was worth it. We need to get him better holes to run through, and then he makes things happen. Also we need a better running threat than Tolbert behind him.
I'm excited to see this, but also nervous. I hope, unlike other rookies, we give him some time to develop instead of instantly saying he's a bust the moment he struggles.
It's always bitter sweet to watch former Bills I like succeeding on real football teams, but I'm glad they got an opportunity to get away from this embarrassment of a franchise.
I, for one, liked Dareus, and I didn't want him traded.
BUT, it's clear that the team wants players of certain character on this team, even if that means less talent, and dead money. So it wasn't surprising from that perspective.
I doubt we do that until we're mathematically out of the playoffs. That being said, I would like to see it.
I'm not a Tyrod hater, he just isn't working for us in this offense. He needs a successful run game and plays that move the pocket more. Maybe Peterman will fit the play designs better.
