  1. CB depth is huge. Gilmore is locked in, we have McKelvin, Graham, and Darby* who are all on that mid level starter/high quality depth line. Robey is good in the slot, as well.
  2. I want to clarify that even if I give him a hard time about speech, I have no opinion on his intelligence, and was not inferring that he's dumb. I know nothing about the guy other than he's hard to understand.
  3. Good enough! Thanks!
  4. Will there be a transcript/translation?
  5. I'm liking 1000 attempts to know if your QB has something or not, that's a good idea. Thanks FC.
  6. Breakdown of Jimmy G's game against Buffalo: http://nflbreakdowns.com/jimmy-garoppolo-buffalo/ Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not too frightened.
  7. Justin Rodgers goes from rating of 60 in Madden, to rating of 85 overnight. What a mystery.
  8. Relocating isn't easy/an option for everyone. But, it is for some, and it's something that I had to do, myself.
  9. I generally agree with all of this... but also believe it can vary greatly depending on region and the economy.
  10. Believe it or not, there are plenty of people who are "off their butts" working hard, but are unable/having difficulty making ends meet. It's the basis of the minimum wage debate.
  11. Yes I did, I was expanding on it with my own situation. She hasn't met the "right people" to have such a situation pop up, is what I'm getting at, that's the luck part, imo. I think luck is the opportunity, and it's up to the individual to take advantage of the opportunity or not.
  12. For me, I was looking at working part time for $11/hr as the only thing I could find the last time I was unemployed... it was the only place that gave me a chance. Luck comes into play that I had an acquaintance, that I met by chance, through a hobby, that passed along a job fair notification at his company, I showed up prepared for the listed openings, the guy who was supposed to interview me wasn't around (went to the bathroom), so one of the bosses here covered for him for a minute. Said boss looked at my resume and noted that she actually needed someone with my skillset even though they didn't have that particular job officially open. I wouldn't have been hired if the other guy didn't step away to go to the bathroom. I wouldn't have been aware of that job fair (it wasn't advertised outside of references from employees) if not for the acquaintance I met randomly. I got lucky, I took advantage of the luck, sure, but I fully admit to getting lucky. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. I met the right people at the right time... but I was striking out big time in sending my resumes for jobs without some sort of connection. Indeed there is a disconnect here. It's a basic ideological difference, I respect your view on it, it's noble. I think it's unnecessary in the developed world, though.
  13. Nah, it's just the reality for some people, they don't have the same opportunities. She's capable of a lot, but since she doesn't have the right education, and she's not professionally networked here, she doesn't exactly get interviews for fancier things. I'd be in a similar boat if it weren't for some connections paying off and me taking advantage of them. Making a living wage really shouldn't be based on luck, not in a country with plenty of luxury and excess, imo.
  14. I have no clue if EJ will be better or not this year, but I am confident the play designs and blocking will be better, leading to a more successful run hopefully. At the very least he should have a better opportunity to be successful in this environment, and that, by itself, is exciting.
  15. I'm admittedly split in my thoughts on the subject... - I feel like minimum wage in any area needs to be enough to rent a low end 1 bedroom apartment, if working full time. Along with low end food, clothes, utilities/internet, and transportation. (what I consider modern basic needs) - The above differs greatly between areas... NYC and middle of nowhere Nebraska, or whatever, have much different needs, so a federal minimum wage that matches either of the extremes, or even somewhere in the middle of those two, doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Ideally we'd have a federal minimum wage set at the low end, with some sort of mandate that if an area has a higher cost of living, the minimum wage in that county is higher. - The comic book store example is a bit misleading. It's a sort of store that is in danger of not existing no matter what the minimum wage is. Increasingly comic readers are turning digital. Comic book stores are going the way of music stores and video rental places. There's simply not enough physical media revenue for most to stay open, and they have to find another way to make money. Selling physical copies of comics is just not a long term business in the modern world. Not to mention that you can likely buy physical comics online and have them shipped direct as well. The other stuff? The apparel, the figures, the card games, etc? Can all be purchased online for cheaper than what a local independent store can offer. The only solution is to do community driven things to get the community dedicated to giving you business. Otherwise, doors shut. - That all being said, $15/hr is *rough* on small businesses, since they already have a hard time competing with big box retailers, and online services. They can't swallow the cost as easily, and there's no multimillionaire CEO to take a (relatively) small bonus cut. - Large corporations can handle a higher minimum wage in theory, considering what the wage gap is between executives and bottom feeders. There's no real solution to that gap, outside of regulation, and that's a slippery slope that'd enrage a good part of the country. I'd personally be comfortable with an earning ratio regulation, but I know I'm in the minority in this country. Also, I know executives/companies would find loopholes or ways around it, and it wouldn't really work in this current environment (where lobbyists practically write laws). All I know is, there's a lot of people at the bottom that can't provide for themselves even when they work full time, because the wages are much lower than the cost of living, its less a problem in rural areas, than it is in urban areas. I don't know what the solution is, it's a tough situation. My gf makes $10/hr, if she didn't live with me, there's no way she'd be able to afford to live in a 1 bedroom or a studio in the area at that wage. She'd either have to have multiple roommates, or move further away than it's worth.
  16. Current RB/FB/HB/TE roster: McCoy Jackson Dixon Brown Williams Felton Connor Clay O'Leary Gragg Gray Am I missing anyone? Gonna be some tough cuts, I imagine.
  17. Fun quotes. Thanks guys
  18. So, according to EJ, we had a really predictable boring offense, and he was instructed to not take risks. Would kind of explain also how KO looked super aggressive and in command right away, then turned into a giant kitty down the stretch.
  19. Hogan rightfully earned a spot, imo. He'll have a harder time this year, since we have Harvin.
  20. I'm not a major expert, but I do not see bad vision in the above video.
  21. I never said the Bills are successful. The measurement of success was four starting QBs since 1994 drafted... I provided the example, because I don't think that's a measurement of success really, because the Bills, who have failed in that arena, have done the same.
  22. "Put up or shut up" in May... Hm. Goodell, can we start the season already?
  23. EJ Manuel, Trent Edwards, JP Losman, Todd Collins Not the greatest roster ever, but 4 guys who have started multiple NFL games.
