  1. SD has their offense running on all cylinders today. They have an answer for whatever we do on offense. 7 different receivers have caught balls, 265 yards passing, Tomlinson has only 42 yards rushing, but the combination of pass-run (21-17) is pretty balanced and they have milked the clock on every possession. We are a bad road team against a well rested and well coached team that has its stuff together today. Sould we be surprised? I think not. Hopefully we can do some things in the second half to slow them down and at least get a few points on the board. Honesty, though I hate to say it, the SD offense is a pleasure to watch today, too bad its agains us.
  2. This whole rag on Williams reminds me of another Bills offensive lineman who, despite pretty decent play, was run out of town by fans and media. Glenn Parker went on to play several more years and was voted the MVP of KC, an honor not often bestowed on an O lineman.
  3. Careful Ron, we all know what caused Tedy's stroke.
  4. You mean that wasn't Bruschi (We're not worthy!) at QB?!
  5. (Canton, Ohio, November 3, 2005) In a surprise move, after an hastily called emergency session, the Pro Football Hall of Fame nominating committee has waived the "in retirement for a minimum of 5 years" criteria and added Tedy Buschi to the list of eligible candidates for this year's induction class. In a related move, the Hall of Fame Board of Selectors has waived the voting requirement and has immediately enshrined Bruschi (We're not worthy!) in the Hall. In a prepared statement, the committee stated: "when you have a player and a man as great as Tedy, who's skills as a player far supercede those of any other, past, present or future, and who's mere existence makes him far superior to any mortal, why wait. Our only regret is that we will be unable to complete the newly approved Tedy Buschi Wing prior to this year's ceremony as we are having difficulty procuring enough gold and diamonds. We hope Tedy will understand.". The Board has also decided that Bruschi (We're not worthy!)'s wife, Heidi will also be enshrined, stating that "if Tedy likes her, we like her and anyone who is married to Tedy obviously surpasses any requirements we may have". It has also been decided that no other candidates will be enshrined this year so as not to distract from nor diminish Bruschi (We're not worthy!)'s enshrinement.
  6. I keep telling you Tom, your lips go like this!
  7. That "nice long pass" was 15 maybe 2o yards, Moulds did the rest of the 55.
  8. The real question is why with the game hanging in the balance is a guy who has all of 8 or 9 NFL plays, not games, plays under his belt even in the game. There are several vetrans who should have been in at that juncture, not an untested rookie with a cast on his arm. Its absurb. Mularky and company once again out thought themselves. Furthermore, why would you have this guy fielding a punt with seconds to play.
  9. Not to mention the total lack of coverage of the passing of one of the true cornerstones of the league in Wellington Mara. Bruschi wouldn't even have the chance to step on a field if not for the likes of Wellington Mara and the other long time owners who built this league into what it is today.
  10. Wasn't that right after he parted the pond in Boston Garden so that his wife could feed homeless orphans?
  11. Bennigans is on Main Street in the Sheraton, accross the street from the convention center and Hyatt, very close
  12. The Rochester Bills Backers meet at Woody's 2 on West Henrietta Rd.
  13. Lets no confuse a young mobile QB with something that pigeons roost (and do other things) on, let alone a 6"5" 250lb guy who can't hang on to a football
  14. No one asked him to throw TO someone, heft one downfield and let Moulds and Evans get under it. Throwing downfield in one thing Holcomb cannot do, he does have a weak arm for the NFL.
  15. why not slip JP in. His arm is better than Holcomb's and he could likely avoid the rush. Just let him get lose and chuck one downfield. By the way, according to MM's interview we did throw long (I must have missed it) and calling a long pass and getting sacked or having no one get open counts also.
  16. That is true, just as it is true that they flat out quit at the end of the game today. I have never seen this team just plain quit like they did today. I have seen them go 0 and 4 and never stop fighting. I have seen them overcome injuries and bad breaks. I have seen them struggle through bad coaching and poor game plans, but never have I seem them just give up. Good, bad or indifferent, quitting is quitting and this team quit today.
  17. The last Oakland drive was the cumulation of a very frustrating day by the Bills. They just flat out quit. No pride, no competative fire, no will. Not surprising since their head coach quit on them. Refusing to attempt even a single throw downfield, giving the ball to a back who hasn't carried all year on 4th and goal, running out the clock with 35 seconds left in the half, getting the ball to Willis a scant 19 times, a game plan that Sherlock Holmes would have trouble finding, etc., etc., etc. Mularkey quit being a head coach weeks ago, the only surprise is that the team didn't quit on him earlier. He has lost this team.
  18. This from a guy who has a small market AM radio sports talk show and who's listeners (all 8 of them) have a combined IQ of less than the number of the frequency that he broadcasts on.
  19. I don't make the rules, that is what the football watching public, most media jerks and half of the so called experts point to. Its always scoreboard in this world, just ask Jim Kelly, 4 trips and half the idiots out there still think he failed. By the way, inspired offensive play has often provided a spark to a defensive unit, and lousy offense has frustrated many a defense into lethargic play. So, yes a case can be made that the team leader carries that burden.
  20. I agree, but check the stat sheets, rightly or wrongly, QB is the only position measured in wins and losses. Nowhere will you find a stat for DB or OL listed as W and L. A QB is unquestionably the leader on the field and therefore his record can be indicative of that leadership or lack thereof. Its unjust and stupid, just like tipped ball interceptions but that's just the way it is.
  21. Could you be more ridiculous. By the same logic, Kelly Holcomb is a better all time Bill's QB, he has never lost a game. The point is that over a career of 4 or five years, the win loss record of a QB does matter if for nothing else what his performace does to lift his team. Although a decent caretaker QB, Holcomb has never been a leader and the record is indicative of this.
  22. Doesn't matter, a sack is a sack is a sack 3 sacks, ball thrown backwards out of bounds Like it or not, comes with the QB position.
  23. Villarial hospitalized with an "abdominal condition".
