  1. I'd say on Most every team in the NFL these days the GM and HC are married. In other words it's both their faults. Do you really think Tanner is gonna bring in a player Rex doesn't want? Do you think Nix makes personnel decisions without Chan? It's a marriage. I think most every pair in the league is on the same page on most everything. What reason is there to think otherwise?? (Love it though, they made their bed this year!)
  2. I love all the posters who say our QB's suck AND then when we go out and get a new QB they say it was sucky management. Must be fun wake up to every morning.
  3. "Jets TE Josh Baker has suffered at least a torn right ACL, ending his season. Baker is having an MRI Monday morning which may reveal even more damage. His knee was gruesomely bent the wrong way during a collision with Panthers DB Josh Norman's helmet Sunday night. The Jets will be scouring Monday's cuts for tight end help." "It's a fairly important injury for offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, who likes to use mutliple tight end sets." http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/2012/08/josh-brown-intimates-that-he-has-lost-the-jets-kicking-competition-to-nick-folk http://rotoworld.com/playernews/nfl/football-player-news
  4. Bills acquired QB Tarvaris Jackson from the Seahawks in exchange for a late-round draft pick in 2013. "Seattle did a nice job to get anything for Jackson, who would have been cut before the season with a $4 million salary. Jackson, 29, started 14 games last season, completing 60.2 percent of his passes for 3,091 yards (6.9 YPA), 14 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He also rushed for a score, but fumbled nine times, losing five. In Buffalo, Jackson should immediately slide in as Ryan Fitzpatrick's backup while learning Chan Gailey's offense on the fly. Vince Young was horrific in preseason action, and Tyler Thigpen will be released." http://rotoworld.com...kson-to-buffalo (apologies if already posted). Listen, all fans freaking out.....Chan knows offense and strategies better than any of us...plus he actually spends time with these people. VY and TT are not cutting it. VY can't grasp the offense and TT is not playing well. Simple. Not complicated. Chan likes TJ, thinks he's better than the 2 he's got now. In Chan I trust. (not saying we have the best QB situation at all, but PLLLLLLeeeeeeeaaasseeeeee, don't tell me you want to keep VY b/c you know he is better). Go Bills.
  5. USFL Generals. Won 2 championships. Also plays pro-basketball with Vancouver.
  6. I'd say yes! He has 2 weeks, but also if it took him that much longer, Brad Smith could be the backup for the first week (or two).
  7. Pre-season means nothing. Pre-season means nothing. Pre-season means nothing. Pre-season means nothing. Pre-season means nothing. Pre-season means nothing. Pre-season means nothing. Pre-season means nothing. Pre-season means nothing. Pre-season means nothing. Hey, I'm trying.
  8. This thread sucks. Now let's do the 2009 and 2011 drafts. C'mon.
  9. For what it's worth, her are the Pats and Jests 2010 picks. I figure it's easy enough for anyone to say....'Hey we coulda woulda shoulda picked this guy...'. But lets look at 2 respectable (uh,hem) franchises and see how they did. I would much prefer someone gives examples of teams actual drafts to really get a true comparison. With that said, my guess is 50% of every teams drafts are bad or mediocre. With the Pats you really have to look at how many they hit on b/c they had A Lot of picks: JESTS: 1. Kyle Wilson 2. Vladimir Ducasse 4. Joe McKnight 5. John Connor *Jests traded a bunch of picks. Major trade was for Braylon Edwards. PATS: 1. (27th Overall) – Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers 2. Rob Gronkowski, TE, Arizona 2. Jermaine Cunningham, OLB, Florida 2. Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida 3. Taylor Price, WR, Ohio 4. Aaron Hernandez, TE, Florida 5. Zoltan Mesko, P, Michigan 6. Ted Larsen, C, NC State 7. Thomas Welch, OT, Vanderbilt 7. Brandon Deaderick, DL, Alabama 7. Kade Weston, DL, Georgia 7. Zac Robinson, QB, Oklahoma State
  10. Love it!!! Here are a few more nuggets.... "The Jets have been quietly searching for outside help at right tackle all offseason, but it’s been slim pickings after the Jets’ trade for the Panthers’ Jeff Otah fell through for medical reasons. Otah is currently out of football. Ryan wouldn’t rule out looking for outside help, especially with the first round of roster cuts coming soon, but at the end of the day, they feel good about Howard and Hunter right now. “You’re always evaluating your team. If [future Hall of Famer] Jonathan Ogden called me up and said, ‘Rex, I’d like to come back,’ then Ogden’s our starting right tackle,” Ryan joked. “Right now, I’m thinking that we’re going to be ok,” he said. “We don’t know who’s going to be cut from other teams. I don’t believe you’re going to find somebody right now that can be a starting right tackle ahead of who we have.” http://www.rantsports.com/new-york-jets/2012/08/23/austin-howard-starting-at-right-tackle-this-week-wayne-hunter-to-be-sixth-man-for-new-york-jets/ Not sure if anyone caught Rexy on ESPN yesterday but it is friggin' hilarious how he was trying to make the benching of Hunter as a positive thing. I paraphrase Rex: "That's what we did with him last year. Used like a 6th lineman and what does every person in the whole stadium thing, were gonna run. But we can pass from that set. But everyone will think run." Really Rex? Really??? Their offense is looking like smoke and mirrors...only not enough smoke or mirrors. LMAO. “The more I went back and looked at where we’re at as a football team, and getting feedback from coaches, and knowing the history of Wayne’s success that Wayne had basically as a sixth man, I’ve decided that that’s the way we’re going to go,” Ryan told the media. “I’m going to put Wayne in that role, where really he excelled. And that’s being a guy that basically fits at — whether it’s a tackle, guard, tight end, all that kind of stuff. So I’m going to move Wayne back to that role.” As for Austin Howard, Ryan had this to say, “We’re going to give Austin Howard a shot to be with this first group. I thought he earned that right. He played extremely well against Cincinnati, did OK against the Giants, but really played well against Cincinnati, and this is what I want to do. I’m going to put him in that situation, and we’ll see how he does this week.” http://www.rantsports.com/new-york-jets/2012/08/23/new-york-jets-bench-wayne-hunter/
  11. Yes the sky is falling. Ryan Fitzpatrick sucks and I love writing on this board.
  12. Obviously with such a large group there will may never be a topic we All agree on. But most clamored for a coach that was the opposite of Jauron. Now we have a coach that's a Leader and not afraid to speak his mind. Don't kill our buzz in the preseason. Go Bills.
  13. You IS Very Smart...... http://rotoworld.com/player/nfl/7482/cordy-glenn Second-round rookie Cordy Glenn has officially been named the Bills' starting left tackle. Glenn had started each of the Bills' first two preseason games, and was always the favorite over holdover Chris Hairston. Hairston started seven games in 2011, and will serve as Buffalo's swing-tackle. Glenn boasts left-tackle size at 6-foot-6, 345 pounds, but just 18 of his 50 college starts came on the blindside. Hairston will step in if Glenn struggles early.
  14. Can you say Danny Batten and Robert Eddins???
  15. OK. I am optimistic as well. But I don't think we can claim that....."we just got better and deeper all at once." Seriously??? OK, now were already supposed to sign him to a long term contract in 2 years. At the rate of This PRESEASON thread, he will be a pro bowler by 9am tomorrow and HOF-er by 4pm. Seriously, lets protect Fitz for the 1st quarter of a real game before we are resigning them to a long term contract. Go Bills.
  16. Exactly......This is not complicated. They signed Williams and Anderson and Kelsay has the huge contract. -1 Good luck to him. Hopefully he catches on with another team (not in our division).
  17. You make a good point. BUT did you read the article? Here is the quote: "Adding another potential weapon to their arsenal, the Prolific Patriots offense has just solidified their standing as the most Prominent offensive juggernaut in the league." If you did read the article. I would agree it had great alliteration. But, C'mon Man......we are in preseason and the writer claims......."the most prominent offensive juggernaut in the league." Seriously???? In August??
