I think Charles Clay has a big day today. I think Allen goes to him early and often to show no hard feelings about the "drop" last week to end the game.

And, when he is eligible, I imagine he'll go really early. I saw a crazy stat that he has more yards on first down carries than any other big ten back has on the season.

Several very good RBs will be available in rounds 3 and 4. We need to grab one of them.

Maybe he's learning the game at this level, improving his instincts even more, will eat a couple of rare steaks this offseason and will come back with more manhood and capability of filling some holes.

I was contemplating this. Edmunds is having a great year, but Vander Esch has been a beast since he's been in the starting role. I'm trying to determine who will be better 5 years from now, and am not really leaving one way or the other.

Vander Esch has his name said A LOT during Dallas games. He's looking good.

I agree. The original post about this said to assume Rodgers would play at a similar level as this year for four more years and that Allen shows positive development for the remainder of this season. I think the knee jerk reaction says it is a no brainer trade to make. But, the potential of Allen developing into "the guy" for Buffalo makes it a pretty interesting question to consider.

I would take Allen over Darnold. On a similar note, but completely different question; there are rumors that Aaron Rodgers will likely not finish his career in GB, and even that he may have already, or soon will, request a trade. Some (random chatter I hear on sports radio) feel he has about 4 to 5 years left and that his skills are diminishing, though his numbers remain solid (TD to INT ratio is ridiculous - shout out to Poyer). I think it is apparent he looks better now (these past two games) since he his healthy and has mostly regained his full mobility. Obviously this is hypothetical, which requires some assumptions, but assume Rodgers wants out of GB and does have 4 good years left (similar level of play as this season). Would you trade Allen straight up for four years of Aaron Rodgers producing at the level he is currently demonstrating he can play at? It is a complete unknown what exactly Allen will achieve, but for the sake of this question, assume he continues to progress and display signs of positive development. I do not mean to hijack this thread, but it is all "would you rather" QB discussion, and I did not see much need for a completely new thread.

It's against a bad Jets team, but maybe Barkley is earning the opportunity to sign a 3 or 4 year contract to be JA's backup.

He has, and he has still been limited by the way Detroit has used him. At one point he was averaging something ridiculous like 7 or 8 yards a carry and they were giving him the ball maybe 4 or 5 times a game. It seemed obvious from the beginning Johnson was their best back by far, and they still insisted on a very inefficient and not very effective rotation of backs up until about 2 weeks ago.

I'm in favor of any pick that is an offensive position.

Have you seen how Detroit uses RBs? If not, it is not in a way that makes them shine. The dude is extremely talented.

Sign this guy now, and you don't have to worry about using a 3rd ot 4th round pick on a RB in the next draft. If you're looking toward the future, a starting RB is now out there for the taking.

Good! However, grab the RB of the future somewhere in rounds 3 or 4. It is very possible to get a great back in that area of the draft, and then ease them in next year as you slowly transition McCoy out of the feature back role by the end of 2019. I'm thinking by the end of next year try to get McCoy about 12 carries per game while get ting the new guy about 10. Of course, Shady should start next year with about 80 to 90 percent of the touches.

Did anyone say Vince Young yet? Cause I think he still has a birthday party loan to pay off and would probably take the job if offered.
