  1. I remember Seantrel from his college recruiting days, he was the number 1 recruit in the country. He and his family didn't handle that well. By all accounts he was one of the biggest recruiting busts in Miami's history. He has managed to stick around on his sheer freakish potential. The clock is about to strike midnight if he can't put it together right now. I am pulling for him. No risk, high reward. Time to live up to your god given talents.
  2. Trade back with Cleveland and pick up their later first, second and third round picks. Select BPA. Cleveland selects Johnny Manziel and a stud OT with their two picks and basically calls it the draft.
  3. I would agree but I am so desperate to see the Bills play meaningful games in December that my view on future picks may be clouded. I believe it generally works that next years pick is discounted a full round, so a first next year is worth a second this year ect.. It would depend on the team that's giving up the pick too. Seattle's next years pick would be viewed as a near the bottom selection. Now if Cleveland wanted to move up to 9 and send the Bills a package that included their later first pick this year and their first pick next that could be interesting.
  4. Mayock would know Martin better than anyone having seen him play while broadcasting the ND games for the last several years. As others have mentioned, if the draft plays out this way the Bills would be in a great trade down position as some team would come up for Manziel. How would you feel if the trade down netted picks in next years draft?
  5. I am hoping for a trade down. It won't be as exciting but getting someone like Martin or Ebron a few slots down makes sense to me. Best case scenario is all the QBs slide and the Bills phone starts ringing. Tennessee at 11 or the Browns second first rounder at 26 could be interested. I like Evans or Mathews if they stay at 9. Heck, if they trade up for Clowney or Watkins I would be fine with that as well. Can't wait.
  6. It all comes down to how many QBs go before 9. If there is a run on QBs, I think Evans will be there. If he's not there still will be a really good player at 9.
  7. I like him but he should have stayed at ND for another year. As of the last time I saw him play he would be a tier below Eifert and Rudolf in their last years. Those guys are very good and Niklas maybe as good or better but he isn't right now. I would say yes in the 3rd but not sooner. He is a capable blocker and showed a lot of potential catching the ball, just don't expect him to light it up right away. That's cool, not many rookies do.
  8. No problem Dollars, here's to the chiefs in Florida.
  9. I agree, I like Manziel and I look forward to him playing. There was one headline that ran for a couple of days about him getting kicked out of a frat party at another school. It came complete with Iphone video. The media is feeding the beast. On the other side, I am 99 percent sure he took a bunch of money for signing autographs that under the current (and moronic ) NCAA system should have had him kicked out of football. Either way people care about what he is up to both on the field and off and that is what makes him a star. This reality is going to make him and whomever drafts him a bunch of money.
  10. That came from Dickie Dunn so it's got to be true. I like Clowney and think he is the real deal. What does Mario's contract look like at the end of this year? The Bills could be looking to move up this year and get their best player in the draft and have options with Mario next year.
  11. Running the hurry up with a rookie QB was at best overly optimistic at worse just plain dumb.
  12. I agree, I know it's crazy but EJ might be the first QB off the board in this draft. Everyone coming out this year has their detractors. I saw some glimpses of a legit NFL QB from EJ last year. Yes they were few and far between but there nonetheless. I am cheering for Manziel and I hope he does well but I can see why some don't like him. Same for the rest of the top rated QB prospects coming out this year. I, like the Bills, are all in with EJ this year. Let's hope it works out.
  13. I love Freddie but I voted CJ, he's an electric player who had some injuries last year. Hopefully, he is healthy this year and the O line improves. A better EJ would be helpful as well.
  14. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000330142/article/johnny-manziel-tops-russell-wilson-as-passer-scout-says Anonymous scout's take on most of the top prospects. FWIW, I found it interesting.
  15. I thought you were caught up in Olympic Curling fever. I have always thought that the Oline is as strong as its weakest link and have seen running backs put up huge numbers behind pro bowl guards. It seems everyone is stuck on the left tackle position, it is important but so is the rest of the line. Last years Bills line just wasn't up to a playoff team's standard so they do need some upgrades.
  16. I'm reminded of the saying 'don't confuse brains and bull markets' The NFL is king, would have been king with or without Godell. The jury is out on the London experiment, LA expansion and a bunch of other things the commissioner has control over. I don't pin poor/criminal behaviour on Goddell. There is likely more to be done to protect and mentor players but I can't put all of it at his feet. He did a good job with the lock out and getting long term labour and tv deals done. It is a private enterprise so no one should be complaining about his salary.
  17. The addition by subtraction view makes no sense. Is SJ taking reps and playing time off a stud WR I don't know about. That's the only reason why a trade for a mid round pick would make sense. I like SJ and I think he has talent, he had a down year, let's see if he and EJ can step it up next year. Woods, Goodwin, SJ and the addition of another WR in the draft and the Bills will have some weapons.
  18. I admire your optimism. The oftence has to be better.......right? If not then the OC will not be the only change.
  19. I am with you on the big target idea. That being said, Chandler is plenty big but I guess he's not dynamic enough off the line down low or something because his 2 TDs arent scaring anyone.
  20. Tied for tenth seems about right. So according to the stats you pulled a teams ability to run in the end zone had no bearing on their TD efficiency? That doesn't jive with common sense. Perhaps the YPC are so bunched as there are less yards needed to be gained or maybe its something else I am missing. I will have to think about that one. Cheers.
  21. This is the problem. http://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/red-zone-scoring-pct Teams that can score in the red zone usually can run the ball effectively close to the goal line. I don't have the stats but I don't believe the Bills can claim an effective running game down low. Couple that with ineffective QB play in the red zone and you end up not scoring enough points. My view is that Freddie and CJ are solid NFL running backs but their Oline can't dominate the line and create seams when the team is in scoring position. Again, I don't have the stats but I do recall beautiful 20-30 yard runs by both RBs on multiple occassions, the only problem was that they tended to be in the middle of the field. These runs would pad production numbers but they didn't result in TDs. Bottom line, the Bills need better Oline play and that means upgrading personnel by the draft and free agency.
  22. This could be ground breaking. I admire his courage and I hope this announcement doesn't interfere with his draft stock. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/10/sports/michael-sam-college-football-star-says-he-is-gay-ahead-of-nfl-draft.html?_r=0
  23. Thanks, I will give it a read. I am no expert, other than using horse paralyzers on my gamecocks I have no experience with PEDs. I guess I have seen too many drug scandals to be shocked anymore and I would imagine there are plenty of players on something.
