  1. I'm thinking they like Keith Pough, the standout ILB from Howard that they just signed.
  2. The on field jerseys are the same as last year. The replicas are the same as last year. The on field jerseys and the replicas are not the same.
  3. To make him the highest paid safety, they'd have to give him at least something like a 6 year contract for $60 mil with close to $40 mil guaranteed. If you or anyone are only looking at base salaries as a model, don't forget to include signing bonuses. 3 other safeties are already making over $10 mil a year when you factor in signing bonuses, which are prorated throughout the contract. Again, Parker means business. Google him. When his clients sign, it's often some type of record breaking contract. Larry Fitzgerald and Deion Sanders are two examples. He's also been behind numerous holdouts and contentious contract negotiations. Parker was also behind Greg Jennings's departure from Green Bay, by not backing down from his demand of $11 mil a year. By no means am I saying the Bills should or shouldn't pay whatever it takes, but it's one thing to say "Just pay the man" and another to not obscenely overpay, which is likely what Parker is demanding.
  4. It's weird for me to type this since I'm unabashedly optimistic on nearly all things Bills, but Byrd's agent is Eugene Parker. You may remember Eugene Parker from the Jason Peters fiasco, as well as the Michael Crabtree holdout. He's known for putting the screws to franchises and getting teams to pay top dollar. Whatever we think would be an extremely generous contract, Parker likely thinks is not enough. I imagine he's looking to get $10 mil a year for Byrd.
  5. Maaaaaaybe, in the long run Stevie could have something to worry about, but the odds of all of those receivers making him expendable any time soon are infinitesimal. I don't think you're giving Stevie enough credit. He may not be a top 5 or even 10 WR in the NFL, but he's certainly no slouch. If he were to be released today, I would suspect 31 other teams would put a waiver claim in for him.
  6. If your theory is indeed true (and there's no way to ever know), that signals to me that the Bills knew who they wanted and didn't want to miss out and THEIR guys. Would you rather have a guy that has better perceived value in relation to overall rankings, or the guy who best fits your needs? For example, say you think Kiko Alonso will almost certainly be there when your next pick comes up. But however small it may be, there's still a chance he won't be there. So then you have to weigh your backup plan vs making a perceived "reach." Do you then go another position? Same position, but a guy you don't like as much? Personally, I would want to be confident enough in my evaluation of the player over my assumptions about other teams' draft boards. Get the guy I want and make people react to my moves, rather than try to maneuver according to what everyone else might be doing/thinking. Proaction vs reaction, IMO.
  7. I love the sport science series! Dareus was really impressive on the show too. I'm a teacher and I've used the clips as an example of how math and statistics are used in stuff that interests the students. We actually watched EJ Manuel's today! And here it is for those who haven't seen it yet: http://youtu.be/FOLEMyMkDdU Love the quick release and how he holds the ball high! Here's the link for Dareus: I guess you can only embed one video per post
  8. Fair enough, although that could be seen as a cop out. How bout if you had to pick one, who would it be? Not trying to lead you into some kind of trap, because I get where you coming from. I picked Manuel bc he looks the part and seemingly has the most natural talent. Altho the way the draft has gone so far, I could definitely have passed on him at 16 and drafted someone like Ogletree or Jarvis Jones. For the record, I do really like Manuel and I am glad they didn't risk losing him. Also even more glad I'm not the guy making the decisions! APologies bc I don't want to turn this into a QB/Manuel thread! I also like Dion Sims
  9. I believe you have mentioned before this as well, but it bears repeating: Chan did not get the best out of Brad Smith. Just like a RB or traditional WR, the more you get the ball in their hands, the better they'll be. Every player gets better as the game goes on once he gets in a rhythm. Chan never allowed BS to get in a rhythm. His touches were too few and far between, IMO. Borderline criminal re: the misuse, rivaling the training wheels on CJ. CJ has the All-Pro talent to overome the shoddy coaching (not to mention more touches), and while BS might not be an All Pro, I think he is much better than the Bills have allowed him to be thus far.
  10. Yes those are bigger needs, but Chandler isnt guaranteed to be ready Week 1. Plus Marrone has used plenty of two TE sets at Syracuse. Also, they addressed QB! Who do you like better than Manuel in this draft?
  11. In Goodell's eyes your a Saints fan! PS Dont ban me
  12. Ryan Griffin from UCONN was brought in for a pre draft visit. I assumed UDFA, but now that they acquired that 7th from the Rams, he could be a 6th or 7th.
  13. HATERS! no buffalo loves their sports. Bills and Sabres constantly top the ratings by region. Not gonna look it up but I doubt it has anything to with it being a down year or anything slash fans being desperate for a pick. SImple fact that Buffalo fans love their squads. By ratings measures Buffalo is a top 30 or 50 or 60 market in North America (depending on the ranking system and area included). When sports are the biggest draw in one of those top markets you see these types of ratings.
  14. http://profootballta...l-keep-talking/ Karlos Dansby and Bills will keep talking Posted by Josh Alper on April 25, 2013, 2:29 PM EDT AP The Bills hosted veteran linebacker Karlos Dansby earlier this week for a visit that ended without a contract offer.
  15. Whether this comes to fruition as it is currently planned or in a slightly modified way, I've got my money on Hasiotis and his crew getting this done.
  16. I dig it, man Exactamente amigo!
  17. So, you're saying they should draft another RB
  18. Fred just installed a hyperbaric chamber in his crib. #CHAMPIONSHIP
  19. Ha I can't take credit since a friend of mine added the text after I took a sceenshot and explained my crackpot genius hypothesis.
  20. Details here: http://forums.twobil...8/#entry2786085 I've changed my mind (again) since that post, and now I do believe there is a smokescreen and EJ is the pick.
  21. Are we going to look at this in 3 years? 5? 10? I voted Manuel as he seems to be a leader and has the most natural talent. But really, a HUGE key to a player's success is which team drafts him. Some coaches and systems will work better for different QBs, and the on-field supporting cast plays a big part, too. So yeah I agree there's no way to say with any certainty how a guy's career will pan out before you even know what they're walking into.
  22. FWIW during last week's mini camp: http://www.wgr550.co...ctices/16084776 Also, keep in mind Kyle Williams wasn't practicing.
  23. Yep. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2013/04/19/fan-friday-4-19/
