  1. Since I made the switch to Mac, I've considered running a Windows emulator or even using Boot Camp, but I haven't found the need to do so... yet. Maybe that'll change once I look into this TV thing some more. Thanks again!
  2. I know what you mean re: signing bonuses, but they generally are prorated for cap purposes (at least for big time multi-year deals). And I was counting those guys, lol, only because I imagine Parker is to some extent. That's also why I think whatever the base salary and total contract value winds up being, the guaranteed amount is going to make up a bigger chunk than the 44% that guy from Spotrac forecasts. And I know Brandon said the analytics department has yet to be developed, but I imagine in their quest to determine a "fair" price, they are looking at the same things the author cites: weighing production and age vs market value. I just don't think Parker sees it that way and is looking strictly at dollar signs.
  3. I mentioned this earlier in the thread: when you include signing bonuses, there are already 3 safeties making over $10 mil per year. This link lists the players sorted by base salaries, but if you click on the individual player, you'll see they are making even more money: http://www.spotrac.com/top-salaries/nfl/safety/ Parker likely doesn't want what is "fair," even though "fair" for Byrd would still be a huge contract; He likely wants Byrd to be THE highest paid safety. The Bills, on the other hand, are probably using "analytics" and reasoning similar to this author's (making Byrd the 5th highest paid safety, commensurate with his production). IMO, that won't be enough to get it done: http://www.spotrac.com/premium/research/nfl/contract-forecast-jairus-byrd-313/
  4. Thanks for getting back to me! I have a Mac so I'd have to find an alternative to those. But before I get that far, I'd have to find reliable feeds. Which is probably going to cost me as it seems the best bet is to buy a TV tuner for my Mac since I don't have cable. I'm fairly tech savvy, but I'm also pretty lazy so I'll probably wind up just waiting for others to upload torrents. Thanks again, though! At least now I know where to start!
  5. Haha +1 But no one picked up on mine Just In My Jaded Opinion, Never Ever Sip
  6. I do, but I can only speak for myself. Just In My Jaded Opinion, Never Ever Sip
  7. Please let me know how you do this. PM if you want, although I bet others would also like to know. I dont have cable, so no DVR. I usually download a torrent of the games I go to, so that I can get the TV perspective afterward. But sometimes I can't find one, or if I do, it's a couple days later. I love everything about going to the games, but sometimes I miss stuff and don't even realize it until I watch a recording of the game.
  8. I've owned probably dozens over the years. When I was a kid in the 90s, I had like half the team's replicas. Currently, I have a rotation of 4, although I'm likely to add one this year. I've got a white autographed Moulds replica, a red Riemersma replica, a white authentic CJ Spiller thowback #21 (funny that they made those as it turns out he never wore a #21 white throwback), and a blue authentic Stevie Johnson from two years ago. The only time I wear them is to the games, and I don't always wear them. Sometimes I'll just wear a Bills T or a Bills polo. And of course for night games, a shirt with a Bills tie
  9. The best part is: with so many young guys, if they do grow and progress together, the Bills could be dangerous for years to come. Imagine EJ, CJ, Woods, Alsonso, Gilmore, ________, ___________, etc. (fill in the blanks) all in their prime together. I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but in a few seasons, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bills as perennial division champs. OH YEAH!!!!
  10. Totally. As bad as the Bills have been over the past 8 or 9 years that I've had season tickets, there is a sense of pride and almost an air of exclusivity to being there. There have been a few years over that stretch where I considered not renewing my seats, but to be honest, part of the appeal is simply being able to say, "I'm a season ticket holder." /humblebrag lol
  11. Yes and no. There will definitely be some, but teams are allowed to cut players prior to June 1 and still have it designated as a June 1 cut for salary cap purposes, so some/many of those guys have already been cut. I'm looking forward to the surprise cuts and practice squad movements once we hit the roster cut down days. There's always some good guys that teams have to let go due to lack of space.
  12. Y U NO USE SEARCH FUNCTION?
  13. Oops! My mistake. And yeah I didn't mean to imply that he should show up w/o a contract, just that I hope he would sign one beforehand so that he can move forward with the team and not fall behind learning the defense.
  14. You're absolutely right that his attendance (or nonattendance) will be telling. However, he has until July 15 to sign his tender per the CBA/league rules. If I understand the rules correctly, as long as he is unsigned, he doesn't face any penalty for not attending the minicamp, even though it's "mandatory." OTAs. Simply put, he isn't "holding out" or subject to fines until after July 15, for whatever that's worth. So, yes I agree, it won't look good if he doesn't sign by or show up to minicamp OTAs, but it could also be a bluff/negotiating tactic as July 15th is a more significant date in the negotiation process than May 10 or whenever the minicamp starts. That said, I would hope Byrd realizes the importance of getting off on the right foot with the new staff and being there to learn a new defense. He already missed the voluntary camp a week or two ago, and would hate to see any detrimental effects of him having to play catch up. EDIT: All the OTAs are voluntary until June 11-13. http://buffalowdown....-buffalo-bills/ EDIT #2: July 15 is the cut off for signing the tender
  15. What if a team was called the Krauts or the Micks? "It's obviously a compliment to all the great German or Irish stereotypes." Give me a break. And this isn't directed to anyone in particular, but when I hear the anti-PC crowd chiming in, it's tough not to hear, "Stop infringing on my right to be an a-hole!" Sure, you have the right to be a douche, but that doesn't mean you should be. Lastly, the name doesn't really bother me, because when I hear Redskin, I think of the team. But that's the only context where it applies to me. I probably wouldn't care if I was Native American, but I'm not, so how the hell would I know? And... I'm in before it's closed/moved to PPP
  16. Ha no, I meant this one also: http://butattheendoftheday.com/2013/04/22/more-and-more-nfl-teams-are-dropping-nikes-toilet-seat-necklace/
  17. I disagree. They were already woefully thin at safety Byrd or no Byrd. They easily could've drafted that way with Byrd under contract considering: 1. If Byrd got hurt, they've got nobody. 2. Pettine likes to play with 3 safeties, and safeties that can both stack the box and play center field.
  18. Well, there's this: http://www.stocklemo...ing-collar.html and this: http://butattheendoftheday.com/2013/04/22/more-and-more-nfl-teams-are-dropping-nikes-toilet-seat-necklace/ However, I stand by my original statement until there is actually an announcement that says otherwise. Teams may not change uniforms whenever they want. IIRC, they have to petition at least a year in advance, and not within 5 years of a previous change. Now, if Nike is manufacturing the jerseys in a different way, I don't think that would be considered a "uniform change," just like it wasn't considered a uniform change when NFL changed license from Reebok to Nike. The teams that did change their uniform last year just used the license switch as an opportunity to do so. Also, even last year, teams used non-flywire Nike jerseys. So it could just be that Bills are simply ditching the fly wire. But the collar is still two-toned at the Bills store and everywhere on the Nike website except the photoshopped pic of CJ Spiller. So, I don't really know what to expect, hence the waiting for some official statement/release from the Bills.
  19. That's all I was really trying to say. Thanks for putting it so succinctly!
