  1. he at worst has an audition.......considering his competition (lewis) can't see how he isn't the best option/opportunity and his demands are min salary (given his pay from Bucs)...........add it all up and i would be shocked if he wasn't added to the roster in advance of the CIN game
  2. Fantastic news, players like this absolutely need to be retained. Carrington next please.
  3. MVP of first half -- jerry Hughes, very fast, very impressive; don't know what went wrong in IND but loving this guys motor and instincts LVP of first half - Kevin Kolb, missing guys, looking rattled, can't see him making team
  4. And Hughes would have got to him as well, very good game for him thus far, very quick
  5. This is a waste of time - kolb looks crap and ej is missing valuable 1st unit snaps
  6. He was unblocked. Was fast getting there and wrapped up but a lot easier when no one touches you.
  7. That was on kolb. Ball shouldn't have been thrown.
  8. I'd give money to wood and carrington right now, or at least make the effort to. Wood seems like the type of guy who likes buffalo and is committed to the new staff. Yes he has his injury woes but he provides leadership and stability to the line. To lose him a year after Levitre would hurt. I think Carrington is in for a big year and after 12 he showed how useful he can be as a rotational player, not to mention his ability to block kicks. Not looking at a cap buster here - decent signing bonus should get this done. Buffalo can't afford to develop guys and let them walk for nothing. Takes two to make a deal but Whaley should be busting his ass to make this happen. I'm skeptical they are making much of an effort.
  9. his inclusion on the extra point team in general is strange. his inclusion on the extra point team at that stage in the game is laughable. i bet he only misses two weeks.
  10. agreed fitz game mananged todays which is all that should be expected. these comments are, as usual, obvious at best and inaccurate/self-complementary at worst
  11. i believe the IR exemption needs to be declared before the season starts - and you only get one of them.........mcgee and brooks are leading contenders for that spot IMO
  12. would you really expect any different? he's a motivater, that's his thing......if they win this year he'll be glorified, if they miss the playoffs again he'll be fired - but i guess isn't that different then most coaches, but more dramatic given his persona and New York in general
  13. actually it's 4M and i do applaud it......in fact i suggested on this board back in the spring as soon as they signed williams/anderson
  14. cap space is never irrelvant or meaningless...........it can be used for extensions, taking larger chunks of signing bonus amortization, or, failing that, rolled into future years......good teams maximize their cap space year after year, they don't waste it
  15. you're assuming he's cut.......i'm not, i think he'll make it to opening day at 2.5M and bank that for a couple games worth of backup duty even if he is cut, to resign him for at even the vet min is a waste of cash as it will be guaranteed once he's on the opening day roster.......would rather roll the dice with jackson for game one and then sign another QB the next day when the salary isn't guaranteed any longer.......this is a silly, wasteful strategy
  16. it's not the cash, it's the cap space - i'd rather see it devoted to retaining core young players then keeping a journeyman QB on the roster when he has proven time and time again he cannot perform......especially when nix just over a month ago was preaching about how "we can't afford to keep everyone" - which of course you can't if you choose to waste cap space, which they are choosing to do with moves like this saving 1.5 million dollars - while wasting 1 million for 2 or 3 games......poor spin.......bills have wasted more then enough money on thipen (and even they admitted that with the jackson trade), time to cut the losses
  17. people are over-reacting re: 5 WR's - that's how many dress on gameday usually, and the bills will stash 1 or 2 on the practice squad so if an injury happens they'll be called up for the next week's game........with jackson, spiller, and dickerson all available on gameday to splt out it isn't that big a deal
  18. i don't buy it....season is 9 days away, not 3 weeks even if they did cut and then resign thigpen (which is a huge waste of cap space as is given the bonus accelartion) to waste a further 1M to have him around as "jackson" insurance for a 2 or 3 more games is ludicrious huge mistake going on here, surprised so many are cool with it (or just don't understand the salary cap implications of keeping him around)
  19. so why not just cut him now and resign him? doesn't add up complete waste of cap space if he makes this roster at 2.5M - but something only the bills would be dumb enough to do, so i wouldn't be shocked
  20. i hope so - if he's on the roster from day one as a vested vet his salary is guaranteed, which makes it quite obviously a massive waste of cap space that would be better spent on extensions for key young core players
  21. is this serious? i'll take that bet lindell just got a rich new deal and moorman has had his best camp in ages
  22. reminds me of winfield (and that is a very much a compliment, can't speak to his hands yet but very physical)
  23. no surpises in first round...still some very tough decisions to come.......i hope dickerson survives but smith looks like a lock after last night and can't see mcintrye going due to special teams, going to be tough
  24. merriman was a waste a cap space........and general space for that matter........good to see the bills cutting a useless backup, they need to trim so more but got the right idea here.....big black mark for nix but good on him for admitting it, finally
