  1. We have the 3rd ranked rushing attack, in part, BECAUSE we have weak QB play. The Bills run because they can't pass. They run straight ahead because the guards have NO ability to pull. The QB is constantly being flushed out of the pocket to the point where he's leaving before he should because he doesn't trust the pocket. The Bills typical stat line this year was Jackson 67 yards, Spiller 46, QB 27. Belichick dominates the Bills with street FAs and low round picks on his Dline because he knows we have, in his words "a horsesh%$" Oline. Uh….I disagree. Finally, there are a lot of high picks on the Seattle and SF O-lines (although Seattle has had to deal with injuries). It's no accident they are playing this weekend.
  2. Well, I don't have the confidence in the patchwork Oline approach they've been following for the past 15 years and I, for one, hope they invest in some Oline "studdage", like NE, SF and Seattle have done. It doesn't have to be in Round 1, but it can't be in Round 7 either. The ONLY WR that fits the bill, that I have seen, is Sammy Watkins and he'll be long gone by 9. So, may I interest you in another trade down, take TE in the 1st and a couple Olinemen bt Rounds 2-4?
  3. I hear you Bandit…and you make some good points….but I'd rather build a physical team that grinds the hell out of an opponent, dominates the time of possession and masks any defensive deficiencies by keeping them off the field. The above WRs are great as a final piece, but as they touch the ball approximately on 15% of offensive snaps (if they are HOFers), I'm stuck on getting a qualified Oline. Cincy, Dallas and Detroit kinda prove my point…they are golfing already. Denver? I can't justify using them to prove anything. They have a gazillion weapons and, perhaps, the greatest QB of all time distributing the ball. Who IS the best remaining WR? Crabtree? D. Thomas? Two of the remaining 4 teams have quite pedestrian WR corps.
  4. Check the Bills success in the Red zone. Not great. I dunno what Power Success % is. Just a creative stat that doesn't change what I saw. Without being rude, I'll just say I disagree. The Bills Oline, to me, has been and is a joke and it's nothing that can be fixed in free agency without hamstringing the build of this team. Grab your big target in FA…..but only after June 1. That's where I stand and I'll be repeating myself til early May.
  5. A WR solves nothing other than it's another guy running down the field with his hand in the air while your QB is getting killed. I am amazed that, after the huge contract thrown at Stevie and 3 high picks, people still think it's a need. You have a team that cannot count on the run in crucial times and can't stop the run. Not only do I think 2 out of the 1st 3 pick will be O-lineman, I will be surprised and disappointed if the Bills pick a WR at all. Maybe a TE.
  6. Who was the last big (big money…long term) free agent signing by the Patriots? How about the Steelers? Ravens? Good organizations don't build through free agency. You play Russian roulette with someone else's expensive rejects and hamstring your own ability to keep your good players. You want to sign some old guy on June 16th to a 1 year deal, have at it. But throwing $10 M at Branden Albert is foolish, desperate and would not be done by any smart GM.
  7. Put Byrd on the Seahawks and he does the same stuff. Maybe more. You can't compare his performance behind the Bills front 7 and Thomas behind one of the best fronts in football.
  8. I'll never get tired of watching Manning or Brady.
  9. You are mostly right. An Oline is SUPPOSED to block 60 times. In Buffalo…not so much. I can't for the life of me understand those who want to Bills to invest more resources at the WR position. And 10 times a game is a Hall of Famer BTW. Look at the final 4. SF, Seattle and NE run the ball at will. Denver is a fluke as you have one of the greatest and most intelligent QBs of all time. Great teams run and stop the run.
  10. Well, I think you have to consider a dominant offensive line an investment in owning the time of possession. If the other team has the ball less, your defense improves. If they don't fix that JOKE of an offensive line, they are going nowhere….again.
  11. What did the Bills get for Lynch? Answer: The opportunity to show how not a run a franchise……again. But that was yesterday. Turn the page already.
  12. Stole my words. I think we should do a poll in May for the worst offseason thread. This would be right up there. It's kind of telling when all these former Bills are out of the league within a year of leaving Buffalo.
  13. Well, technically, if you start off at HOF level, then "decline" to just all pro status, you've tailed off. So it was a lazy post by me. Sorry. I love Alonzo and if he keeps this up, I want him here for at least 10 years. I thought later in the year, his being out of position was the sole reason for some huge ground gains, including the 80 yard run by Rainey in the Tampa game. It may be due to the longer NFL season. Maybe the NFL has figured out his game a little. But he looks solid, which is so nice to acknowledge and recognize. Rookie of the year? I don't think it's clear this year.
  14. Excellent post. So OT, TE, LB in the 1st, OG in the 2nd. I can live with that. Drafting another WR, at this point, is the dumbest thing I've read around here. You can't stop the run and have major holes on the O-line…..and that will be fixed by a WR?? I don't see it.
  15. Kiko tailed off late in the year. At least I thought so.
  16. It doesn't take an O-line coach to see that the Bills have 2 legitimate NFL O-lineman, Wood and Glenn. Urbik and Pears do well in spurts and cannot be counted on in the 4th quarter to get a 3rd and 1. MAYBE they are good enough to be backups. The street FAs installed at LG were a complete disaster are not worthy of being mentioned by name. The Bills cannot plan on 'Unga or any of the other Jokers to develop into a starter. So you have 2. That's it. The rest should not be in the NFL or certainly should not be starting.
  17. Please, let's the football Gods snooze 1 more time and let a legitimate, qualified NFL QB land in Buffalo. It's not too much to ask.
  18. I think #38 McIntyre was sorely missed. I'm not sure who else was even on ST to be honest….But show me a team than sucks at LB and I'll show you a team with bad STs. And the Bills suck at LB, Legend of Kiko notwithstanding.
  19. Well, people will not want to hear it, but you're right. This team was devoid of good special teamers. Easley showed flashes. But there was no consistency. Corey McIntyre was in on virtually every ST tackle and he left with no replacement. I am less concerned with the coach than the talent, but I hope his leash is considerably shorter.
  20. Don't be humble, you are dead on with Pears. I think it is being kind to call Pears mediocre. He might be okay if the RG was a stud, but ok is his top end. I think today's NFL requires a better athlete.
  21. I think the O-line is fine and they should draft more WRs and DBs.
  22. Not so. 6-10 before. 6-10 after. Poor run defense before. Poor after.
  23. Not 1 free agent prior to June 1. Not 1 flipping one. You want a FA, sign Byrd. Everything else is overpriced garbage. You want to spend some $$? Then sign Glenn. Sign Wood. The answer is rarely, if EVER in free agency.
