  1. Lol Cowher unless Dick Lebeau was coming with him who cares? And Lebeau isn't leaving Pitt. In fairness though plenty of teams fanbases do this. A few friends of mine who are Panthers fans are routinely waiting for Cowher to coach them
  2. eh I dont have an issue with Whisenhunt. I was intrigued by Ray Horton but ehh compared to a lot of the names popping up not the worst of the bunch
  3. Well if you want to argue credentials than right now you still have to say Peyton and Brady are 1/2. However if you where to start a draft of every NFL player and redo teams. Aaron Rodgers would probably go 1st on most teams draft boards.
  4. Someone not afraid of the Patriots? Sign me up.
  5. Pete Carroll. It's too early to say Schiano but I think he's built for the NFL
  6. A 29 year old qb who doesn't turn the ball over is pretty mobile and has improved pretty much every year. Who might not take over a game, but won't hurt you on turnovers I'll take that. Smith and draft a qb to groom.
  7. Yeah it's not like he went to the AFC Championship with Jake Plummer and consistently beat Bill Belichick coached teams or anything.....Oh wait that's exactly what he did. No he didn't have the overall sucess he had with Elway but Shanahan for all intents and purposes has been a good coach even without John Elway. It's kinda hard to replicate success without one of the best qb's ever. Getting solid years out of the likes of Brian Girese and Jake Plummer though pretty impressive.
  8. I dont think you can leave out trading draft picks for qb's when talking about this. Be it Johnson, Bledsoe, Losman all had picks either traded to acquire and in Losman's case move up in the draft. The problem being none of these moves worked. Should the Bills have done more to acquire a qb...Of course they should've but resources where spent
  9. Whats interesting to me about Polian is his hate for NE is well publicized If the opportunity where to present itself I could see him coming back to Buffalo as a team president. Polian may be 70 but he's still highly respected around the league and coaches will coach for a Polian team
  10. Yeah I live in New Jersey so I've gotten to see Brandon Jacobs quite often. Once he gets a full head of steam he's tough to bring down, and a pretty sneaky good receiving back as well, but he's a main part of the reason the Giants where a pretty bad short yardage/goalline team.
  11. Brandon Jacobs is a horrible short yardage back. Yes he's 6'4 260+ and a monster of man once he gets going, but because of his straight up running style has never been good in short yardage situations.
  12. As far as Spikes goes I remember there being some talk about him wanting to leave cause he didn't think he fit Jauron's defense which wanted faster/quicker linebackers. Pre achillies tear Spikes would've been a no brainer. It's a god damn shame with the amount of defensive talent we had that we couldn't get to the postseason. All the aggressiveness that has gone at times into free agency needs to start going into the front office/coaching staff if Buffalo is ever serious about competing.
  13. Lets not compare Poz to London Fletcher. Poz doesnt have the quickness or instincts that Fletcher has. While Poz is good at keeping a play infront of him, he was never in Fletchers league. It was a stupid move to not re-sign Fletcher and forced the Bills into their continuing bad pattern of needing to fill holes instead of adding depth. Fletcher was a beast his last year in Buffalo. 2 sacks 4 ints 2 defensive tds and 14 passes defensed. Especially at a time when the Bills had lost Takeo Spikes to his achillies injury letting Fletcher just walk away was a dumb marv levy move I vividly remember the Fletcher hate around here. I never really understood it. Sure he's not your prototypical 6'2-6'4 250lb lb whos making all these behind the los stops (than again what lb does this "all the time") Fletcher is the kind of defensive leader and great player every team would be lucky to have. To say that "people expected he'd still be good at 37" well probably not but he was a very good player when we let him walk and just like it's taken years to replace the losses of ted washington and pat williams it's taking years to replace Fletcher
  14. "Come on, fellas. Rome wasn't built in a day." "Yeah It took several hundred years"- Bad News Bears
  15. A year removed from acl surgery. Only the 7th player in NFL HISTORY to rush for over 2000 yards, and the 2nd most rushing yards in a single season ever, basically willing his team to the playoffs after they went 3-13 the previous year....Yeah that's pretty much the definition of personal accomplishments.
  16. To go from tearing your ACL to almost breaking the NFL single season record for rushing yards while single handily carrying The Vikings on his back. AP definitely deserves MVP this year
  17. If true someone should pin this thread as it will quickly surpass the mario williams thread and every post in tbd history lol
  18. If true this could be a step towards the change this organization desperately needs. This isn't an "anti ralph" post so much as it is. If true I commend him on doing the right thing for the team.
  19. Damn so close, was hoping he'd break that for a td and the record. Oh well was a great effort all the same
  20. He's had that potential since College. The only knock Peterson ever had was his ability to stay healthy and avoid the multiple collarbone injuries. Pound for pound he's the total package. Insanely strong, fast and the quickest out the gate rb I've ever seen. As a football fan he's a pleasure to watch.
  21. This seems logical and legit. Yeah if the choice is Gailey or Haley then stay with Gailey, unless they feel they can get Gruden
  22. Don't agree with him on Kyle Williams especially this year I think Williams has been awful far to often. Byrd should've been a definite. Spiller is in the top 10 in yards from scrimmage should've been a definite as should Levitre.
  23. I wonder why Urban Meyers name is never mentioned when it comes to NFL coaching openings. Not saying I want the Bills to hire Meyer just why you don't really hear his name much Especially considering what he did this year at Ohio State
  24. Well the fact that he has zero prior experience in player personell and scouting. He's never worked in the field in any capacity doing anything that would remotely resemble anything that has to do with player personell and scouting be it prospective free agents, undrafted college free agents, or college scouting. Yes that would be my "rush to judgement" his complete non experience. Just like If I had cancer I wouldn't hire a doctor who specalizes in knee ligaments to draw up a treatment plan for me to live longer just because I'm "running out of options". If Jim Kelly's future with the Bills is involved in the scouting player personell process something he's never done it's not a big leap to say that it probably won't end well.
