  1. Then you conveniently forget he just started to find his groove when he was tripped in the Jets game....AND A TORN LABRUM!! Which, you know, effects the ability to extend your arms to make a catch...?!!!
  2. It was a torn labrum, which is equally problematic. And you’re right, the microwave mentality tends to be over reactive for fans as they “demand” players to be All Pro in their Rookie season. It generally takes time.!
  3. So, basically you're not paying attention?? Did you see the discussion Stephen A. had regarding the Tweets? Did you see how he took ownership for saying / Tweeting dumb, and juvenile things when he was, well...a juvenile? He could have taken the road that fully explained how those Tweets were references to pop culture, but he didn't. He simply said he was "young and dumb", and that's not even the whole story but he didn't make any excuse or justification.....even though he legit could!! So, rose above and took the high road. Second, I don't know how old you are and I'm not asking, but someone like myself, had Facebook and Twitter and Snapchat been around when I was a teenager, holy fricken cow would my life have been a mess! I can honestly tell you I made some seriously terrible mistakes...horrible mistakes, but I learned from them. I'm guessing he did too. Maybe you're the only person to ever live to not have skeletons in their closet....cool Bruh, the monastery is up the hill next to the cross, pack a lunch and take your meds, you'll need them....but for everyone else, we understand what it means to be youthful and selfish.
  4. You watch these videos, and it's nearly impossible to not love the kid as a person. I have my reservations, but I'm hopeful...and I remain resolute in my support of any Rookie coming onto the Bills team (that hasn't committed a crime or done something truly harmful), so I'm going to hope beyond hope that the Bills develop him properly and that he takes the league by storm once they deem him ready.
  5. Another coincidence: 1983, to the Day, April 26th, the Buffalo Bills selected Jim Kelly and Darryl Talley - QB and LB of the glory years. 2017, Josh Allen and Tremaine Edmunds - QB and LB for what we all hope to be even better years; same number of Super Bowl appearances but with 4 Lombardi trophies to match.
  6. I get it....I just don't like it. At this point, it's moot. So, I'm not complaining because the Bills got the guy they wanted - and to me, I'm so glad it played out this way where Rosen was available because otherwise the whine-fest that has already been terrible would be much, much worse and Beane would be skewered on this board for taking a passive approach. Now, we know that the Bills did in fact value Allen more and according to Ben Allbright, who was dead-on about the Bills and Allen, said Allen was their #1QB. Take it, fwiw, but that would make sense if they had a trade in place with the Broncos and then had to trade up with Bucs to get him. Additionally, I've mellowed on the trade because of just how well they did with the rest of the Draft. IMHO, the Bills drilled this Draft to its core. But, time will tell.
  7. I think they realize that a "stud" WR is no good without a competent QB and that QB comes with a steep price the year in which he's taken, also I think they have more confidence in the OL than the fans do. I also think Beane hates to jump to conclusions and Zay was not good last year, but at the same time he just started to find his stride when the "trip" occurred at the Jets and he had a torn labrum for the year, which no one knew until after the year was over. Couple those things with a year in the NFL and there's a strong chance Zay has a good rebound and becomes the WR they hoped he'd become (or at least much closer to it) when they Drafted him last year.
  8. I'm not necessarily doubting you, but I'm wondering did Beane come out and say it, or do you have some other reliable information that makes it so concrete? Just curious...
  9. Let's also keep in mind, the Jets gave up three 2nd round picks to move from 6 to 3...Bills gave up two 2nds, to go from 12 to 7...that is a notable key to this price as well. I was not on the Allen train prior to the Draft and hoped for someone else and even more hoped the Bills would have stayed put at 12. That said, I also said I would fully support any QB the Bills Drafted and that's what I'm doing. I'm hoping Allen has a year to learn no matter how bad AJ gets so that he can be more fully confident and internally capable with the NFL information and game speed adjustment when 2019 rolls around. I also don't want him to take more than a year as I think that becomes counter productive, but a year is needed to work on the things he can't when he's the starter, ala footwork and mechanics and gaining the aforementioned adjustment to NFL speed and Offense. The price of going 12 to 7, would have hurt even more if the Bills did not nail the majority of the rest of their picks and IMHO, they did. The Edmunds, Harrison, Teller, Johnson, Neal (and don't discount Proehl) picks were all very good to great. I'm not sure about Ray-Ray pick but even some of the UDFAs so far, Wallace, Foster, and the OL from Iowa are all equally intriguing.
  10. Good find, and Pauline nails it with early Day 3 and Nickel Corner, which is where he would play this year with Vontae on the side opposite Tre. Plus, as he noted, Johnson doesn't have the length to play outside CB in McD's scheme, IMO. So, he can man the corner in conjunction with Phillip Gaines and then next year Bills take an outside CB maybe or if one comes via FA, they'll have a ton of Cap space.
  11. So Jackson is definitely the guy.....
  12. So, you're just the absolute authority on all things the Bills would have-could have-should have done?? Like a toddler just stomping his feet? Dude, saying it like it's a fact doesn't make it any more of a guess by you....I don't think you're right....you think you are, cool...fine. But let's leave it at that. Unless you have text from Beane telling you what they tried to do, then keep it as your opinion. No, I don't think it would have happened because if Beane really wanted to get there, the Bills had so much more to give. Now, did he make the call? Of course, or at least I hope so - to gauge interest and find out the asking the price. But there's a really big difference between driving by a house, seeing the price and thinking, "Aw, that'd be nice" and keep driving versus pulling in the drive, whipping out the checkbook and saying, "Name your price" and cutting the check. If you don't know that, there's nothing anyone can do for you. However, toning down the rhetoric and dismissive tone would be a start. Happy Draft Day to you tomorrow Sir, and good day.
  13. Absolutely agree. But that wasn't really the point in my mind, it was more a matter of the Bills not being precluded from making additional transactions should they want to and that despite the narrative the Bills "don't have any Cap space", it's quite the contrary.
  14. I disagree on both counts: it was absolutely fear based, IMHO, because they were "afraid" someone would jump ahead and I do NOT think Buffalo would be at 3 given how Beane has let this play out. Because, I think we can safely assume Beane has made the rounds in calling everyone in the top 10 about cost to move up and knew Indy's price and said it was too steep. So, he decided to back out and wait...Jets panicked and paid a big price for a team that is not close to the playoffs.
  15. Sorry, seemed obvious: despite rumors of Bills being Cap poor, there is still quite a bit of money in the till...presuming about 9-10 million for Draft picks, that leaves about 9-10 million if it's needed, such as trading FOR a player.
  16. I realize while we're all foaming and frothing at the mouth about a QB for the Draft, this might be an under utilized subject, but found it interesting. Beane has said they were limiting spending due to the dead money and Cap position that dead money put them in. Also, it goes to the heart of his philosophy that you build a team through the Draft. But, in the event a trade were to happen FOR an existing NFL player, I just wanted to put this out there that despite our sometimes freakish obsession about the Cap position for the Bills, there is still plenty of money out there for them to make moves if they so choose. To me also worthy of note are the Jets, who are 7th at $21.8 million which when you consider how much Cap space they had to start FA, speaks volumes to their philosophy: WIN NOW TO SAVE ALL OUR JOBS!!!!! Count me among the few who thought the Jets trading up to 3 was a fools move and based in fear. I like what Beane is doing...but, I am biased. Edit: Per Field Yates - Twitter-verse
  17. bandit got to you first....I just can't with this Draft anymore....dear God it's like reading War and Peace....just skip to the final page and be done.
  18. If it's Allen at 12, I'm fine with that....because at that point you really are Drafting potential. But trading up to #2 or even #4 where the Draft capital will be enormous, I'm not good with that scenario. Obviously, the Bills aren't asking me, but I wouldn't like it. Now, if Allen doesn't go #1 overall, I do think he slips to at least #5 and maybe even further. Again, if we're talking 7th, that's probably just a 3rd rounder this year and maybe a 4th 2019 or something like that....that I would like less than staying put, but I'm not marching OBD with pitchforks and torches. It's too far...and I'll be asleep.
  19. There's nothing better than being a Dad to a little girl....best thing that ever happened to me. (Also the hardest! ) Congrats to that young man, hope he can be the Dad he's always hoped to be and stay strong for that little gift.
  20. Not in my opinion. If the Bills stay at 12 and take a QB, MLB Rashaan Evans should be the target. DJ Chark, Anthony Miller, DeSean Hamilton, and maybe James Washington will be available in the 2nd. MLB is a MUST coming out of the Draft one way or the other and I would also think another coverage LBer, Fred Warner? O'Daniel?
  21. HAVE to get him a new number if he's in Buffalo....damn EJ to hell!!!
  22. Brother, you get an "A" for consistency!! Love it....sell out to the cause!!
  23. It never gets old...muahahahahaha!!!! Kiper....DOH!
  24. Nothing against the OP whatsoever....but, I just don't think Mayfield is there at 7 if the idea is for the Bills to trade with the Bucs to get Mayfield. They will need to go much higher....probably....then again....maybe not. can it just be Thursday night already......not Thursday, because the torture will be the same....Thursday NIGHT.
