  1. Edmunds is good and I hope that they can afford to keep him. I wouldn’t be looking forward to 17 games of Terrell Brandon playing there instead, but cap constraints may make it impossible to keep him. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they can keep one of Poyer, Edmunds or Oliver. Keeping 2 of the three would be great. Any of them would be a big loss.
  2. So, what should probability that Miami can score a TD with no timeouts and 34 seconds be?
  3. Well, ok. Bates, Boettger, Quessenberry, whoever else - the OL is a mess and will be worse if Morse is out. The OL is a hodgepodge of low-end draft picks and undrafted FAs. Dawkins is the lone high pick on that line as a 2nd rounder.
  4. You understand that a fg -even that short - isn’t a 100%. Bad snaps, kicker slipping or a fg block can all happen. Imagine how dumb that looks if any of those things had occurred. Answering that “they made the kick” misses the point. If you have a good playoff caliber defense, you should not be afraid of defending with a 7 point lead for 34 seconds - especially when the opponent has no timeouts. Yes, Miami has some outstanding and fast WRs, but come on…
  5. That has worked 2x this year, but what it says to me is that the staff doesn’t trust the defense to be able to hold a lead for 34 seconds. That’s a pretty harsh indictment of the defense without Miller.
  6. McKenzie should just be a very part-time player. He is ok for an occasional jet sweep, but he is not a reliable receiving option and he is not a decent kick returner.
  7. I think that the play where Singletary purposely did not score a TD at game’s end shows that the staff has little confidence in the defense to hold a lead, even with very little time left in the game.
  8. I agree the OL is a problem, but I think Brown can be salvaged. He missed the entire offseason and training camp coming off back surgery. He can’t be as strong as he would have been had he been able to train. Likewise, I think he is plenty athletic to play the position. I might be wrong, but I think they need more reinforcements on the interior. The offseason is going to be very difficult just to stay level with this season. They can’t afford any significant FA signing and almost certainly are going to lose one or more of Poyer, Edmunds and Oliver in FA. There is nobody in waiting on the roster who can replace any of them, so likely draft will be to try to get rookie candidates at S, ILB or DT. They won’t be able to address all the holes picking late in each round.
  9. Point is, the success is all on Allen and Diggs. Any success the rest have is due to defenses being focused on stopping Allen and Diggs.
  10. There are two great players on offense: Allen and Diggs. Singletary is pretty good and beyond that, there is no other player that opponents need to worry about. Add in an average, at best, OL and I think the offense’s problems go beyond play calling.
  11. Props to the Jets. Their D is really outstanding and Garrett Wilson is a stud. Disappointed in Bills’ offense today. Jets took Diggs away and no other receiver is any threat at all.
  12. Agreed. Why throw it there?
  13. Come on, he did well even to see the ball in the air after the ricochet.
  14. Why can’t this team put anyone away?
  15. Supe big play by Hamlin.
  16. Are they going to choke this game away?
  17. I saw the replay and, for what it’s worth, I didn’t see his knee twist or move in an unnatural way. Hope that is good news for him.
  18. Allen has been bad for a month, OL is a shambles without Morse and Dawkins. There are a lot of reasons that this team is playing poorly.
  19. I would not count those chickens yet
  20. I just don’t see a very good team as the Bills are presently configured. So many players on D and O out. They are going to have to scramble to eek into playoffs.
  21. Beasley is not even in the league this year. He was small and got older and injuries mounted. He WAS really good at his job, but I don’t think he is good anymore.
  22. They miss Hyde and Poyer has been out and played, probably less than 100% yesterday. In addition, Tre White hasn't played and first round pick Kaiir Elam has been out with injury as well. Before that, Benford was out. Right there, that is enough to explain it, but as another poster said, Edmunds has been out and his length really disrupts passing games in middle of the field. Milano played yesterday, but has been out, too. Finally, don't underestimate the impact of Greg Rousseau being out injured. He isn't a dynamic pass rusher, but he is capable, his height disrupts passing attacks and he is a very good run defender. I will admit that Shaq Lawson has filled in well. From the list of injuries, it is surprising that the defense has held up at all.
  23. This team has a lot of flaws that make me believe that they are a pretender, not a contender. First, I believe that the defense willing improve if the can get Elam and Tre White back. I think that Edmunds is missed more than some believe and Greg Rousseau is also an important piece to get back. The offense is my concern. Allen looks bad. Gabe Davis is not a starting-caliber WR, especially on a team with championship aspirations. If he can’t catch the ball, he needs to sit or go. His bad hands on ST almost cost the game. I have little good to say about Isaiah McKenzie. He is a fringe NFL receiver who can run an occasional gadget play and is a danger to both teams as a returner. While the defense may improve as they, hopefully get healthy, I think that the lack of receiver talent is going to cost this team a serious challenge for the SB.
  24. Embarrassing defense. This is really not a team that is a threat to run through the playoffs.
