  1. there’s no reason they have to choose a winner
  2. yea, even if it’s the worst scenarios I can come up with, i see no real downside to a million dollars going to a cause he cares about.
  3. appreciate you being mindful and trying to do the right thing.
  4. At this point it’s happening whether or not TBD endorses. Last I saw it’s broken a million dollars donated tonight and been shared by players, media, and referenced by his representation. I don’t think you need to pin it, or wipe it, but I also don’t think you need to struggle with the ethics. It’s a train that’s left the station.
  5. yea, I’d be surprised if they are out substantially early which means some waiting You still need to get crew to the planes, load things etc… it’s not instant to move a group like this. Maybe a shade early but not a moments notice.
  6. why do you assume it’s not just a 16 game season for us? Highest win percentage gets the seed.
  7. you aren’t moving the Super Bowl at this point. Just not logistically sound of familiar with the production
  8. The guy has an agency page that listed Hamlin as a client even prior to today it would be a weird long con to fraudulently do that and never be noticed for an extended stretch… just to do this?
  9. As backwards as it sounds, odds are those guys knew more and sooner than the “powers that be” we will see what unfolds
  10. maybe. but while the first 30 mins seemed like an eternity for us- the guys at the league office (many of whom were likely at home) trying to coordinate with the nflpa, coaches, officials, medics, stadium personnel, ESPN, etc… probably barely remember it from the number of conversations they were coordinating with little to no info. Emergency response is imperfect, and most likely had no idea what they were dealing with until the moment you and I did. We just watched a terrible situation unfold in real time on tv and short of a headline that the league office was inappropriately pushing til the last minute, I don’t see the upside in vilifying them.
  11. Yea, to come back from commercial - I thought maybe a weird pinched nerve or I missed his head hitting…. And then seeing Josh followed by players crying was incredibly jarring that this was different
  12. how long of a delay do you think there was from when we the decision was made to us being told? We saw equipment packed up and players changing long before the statement.
  13. honestly, why does anyone care if it was a good look? we don’t even know what exactly the refs said to coaches, just that an announcer spit it out on air- but we know it was rectified incredibly quickly. a ref saying “alright guys take a few minutes and get your teams sorted out before we restart” and then letting the coaches meet with their teams and then regrouping to see where everyone’s at isn’t even a bad look.
  14. honestly, in live action, who the heck knows how much made it from the stadium to NY in the first 5 minutes. decision makers on the scale of cancelling a game may have been watching on tv trying to get glimpses of what was happening, and likely didn’t even get first phone calls until the ambulance was dispatched
  15. If they can make it happen they will. if not they will cancel and it’s no nightmare - just a 16 game season.
  16. what time did they call it internally? diggs was already in a towel before you and I got the announcement.
  17. they are also the only ones who actually have to make the call and send logistics through a full chain of people for approval and execution in real time. ”hey let them stretch while we get real time updates” isn’t crazy. Hell, goodell knew less than the coaches in that moment. the nfl made the right call tonight, even if not movie script perfect in getting there. It’s easy to want to be angry at someone but no one truly did anything wrong tonight it seems.
  18. Again, I’d simmer with this. Refs just said “let’s do what we are trained to do in big injuries” basically and within seconds it was rectified. it wasn’t like some gang of guys on suits said “make them play - we need commercial revenue”
  19. there are so many pieces moving. It takes time. Everyone involved is human too. id give all involved huge leeway
  20. to be fair, the refs didn’t know what the hell they were doing. They treated it like a big injury, and it was essentially immediately remedied. no need to search for villains tonight.
  21. I honestly think he’s saying what many are- it’s a huge game, but it doesn’t matter in comparison it read clumsy but I genuinely think he was trying to say the right thing.
  22. honestly all he’s saying is that the nfl wants to find a way to let guys play but it’s so inconsequential in reality
  23. If diggs was already in a towel - it’s been cancelled for a good bit and the league is just waiting to announce the plan from here which has a lot of moving pieces
  24. for all we know it’s been decided and just waiting to share firmed up logistics with us
  25. it’s an extreme sign- either great or the worst
