  1. a single ACL injury is unlikely to change that. If Kirk cousins can cash in as a free agent, Lamar still would coming off anything short of an absolutely catastrophic injury
  2. this thread will be high in insecurities and masked racism. You wont change it. it’s Buffalo in December. It’s not news that it’s going to be cold and uncomfortable. That phinphanatics have noted it is of no special excitement.
  3. phinphantic is the local media? All around not a winning post here
  4. I’m not sure it’s as you portray on the offer. QBs play by totally different rules with regards to value i suspect he would’ve quietly accepted something in the ballpark of the ravens past offer. the team would be showing good faith not to pull it. QBs are near impossible to find.
  5. it’ll be tragic if they hold that for a 3 year run and don’t get a ring out of it.
  6. he may just workout for the final team before signing? I don’t know what his plan was there.
  7. I mean, he waited until healthy and is going through a 3-4 day process once it actually started? just have to hang on the headlines a bit less if they upset you which is fair. medical work up and a light workout is a reasonable minimum standard even if he’s not clear for everything yet
  8. a 14 month contract wouldn’t worry me much. Any guarantees into the following year would be a major question for me. if he ultimately passed a physical, 11-12M cash outlay between this season and next wouldn’t really be a stress, again pointing at zay Jones getting 24m over 3 years. Holding out for Nelson agholor or Robbie Anderson? 10m a year ain’t what it used to be. if he’s looking at closer to 20, it quickly gets hard to justify unless you feel absolutely great about his physical.
  9. im not strongly advocating for the guy so much as pointing out that in the near future we will probably pay a guy with similarly treacherous injury history and/or far less upside just as much - or more. depending on the duration, and flexibility built in - I would potentially pay him that much. Or potentially run the opposite direction.
  10. 10m isn’t even top 30 money. Roll in guys on rookie contracts and you are talking marginal WR2 territory. Literally one slot above zay Jones for average annual value.
  11. though we all know the difference between a good month and a stretch of several good seasons.
  12. I mean, you could just chuckle about how you worded your post and move on instead
  13. I’m not sure pulling into a tie is lapping the field but I’ll take it no doubt
  14. it’s a good question. Has anyone asked why we didn’t call the forced fumble play during 13 seconds?
  15. more so by the playoffs you are facing elite teams weekly. Hard to hide talent shortcomings week in and week out against those that are just flat better.
  16. the problem isn’t thinking he was special but that near literally no one would have singled him out to be THIS at that stage. Like my boss calls about 15 guys a year future nfl qbs, so him getting one right isn’t noteworthy.
  17. either way it seems to be the refs interpretation and didn’t look wildly out of line - if it takes a great video from the right angle going frame by frame, I’ll not fault a ref generally
  18. mckenzie is talented but inconsistent. Not hard to reconcile that he has skills but makes mistakes at a higher than normal rate agreed on both fronts. We will see where cook plateaus but he has upside still while mckenzie is who he is
  19. you mean the rule doesnt fix all safety concerns in the nfl, just some of the more common and egregious? he could’ve had better position in coverage to make a play on the ball, or gone lower
  20. At 17 games, it’s barely a meaningful threshold I like DS but will admit when cook gets the ball I get a little excited about what he could make happen in a way I haven’t for a few years.
  21. Giving the referees more opportunity to make unilateral judgement calls always sounds great in the moment, but infuriates fans in practice
  22. all of the above? he’s not a top 5 kind of tight end but is a legitimate starter in the league we haven’t seemed to scheme him well either. Seems like our underneath patterns were getting covered up quick lately, whether backs, receivers, or him… those quick outs haven’t been getting guys in space on the perimeter well and I haven’t seen him split the seam much (not watching all 22)
  23. I think the nfl COULD moving forward discuss if a toe tap could be a football move but as is the right call was made
  24. then running with it is the football move to complete possession in poyers case, surviving the fall is the football move. Unfortunately being out of bounds as soon as it’s loose he’s dead and the balls dead. The only real argument would be if a toe tap after the catch is a football move
  25. people heard helmet to helmet so many times in broadcasts that they aren’t aware it includes shoulder that said, definitely a flag. But also surprised by the ejection as it didn’t look like he was trying to wreck the guy. Just a bang bang play and the WR was a quick moving target. I think if the same hit happened early and the WR popped up fine it would’ve been just a flag but that late, with an injury, they tossed him in part to avoid drama down the home stretch.
