RIP my all time hero. Doc at the Radar Station has been blowing my mind for years. a god among puppets. from the bottom of my heart...it should have been everyone else -
Are you happy with the Buffalo Bills poll
Astrojanitor replied to BillsObserver's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly this. I honestly feel a wildcard spot is possible next year with a smart off season. I haven't felt that way in YEARS. -
I'm a huge Lou Reed fan. I mostly stick to the Velvets, but Berlin and New York get a lot of play too. recently I've been flipping over the vinyl reissue of Metal Machine Music. I love it to no end....but beware if you don't already know what the deal with that record is.

Calling Beatles fans...you can listen to an amazing event
Astrojanitor replied to boyst's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'm glad he's around and he does deserve every last bit of adulation he gets---his contributions to pop music can never be ignored. But he always (to me at least) was one of those guys who needed a partner to balance some of his goofier impulses. Jagger and Richards are like that too. Their solo stuff is next to unlistenable. Pete Townshend's songwriter fell apart once the chemistry changed in the who (literally and figuratively). My favorite songwriter is Robert Pollard. Based on who he is collaborating with his stuff is either absolute perfection or boring self indulgent dreck. -
consider yourself karmaed. If I lost my dog I'd lose my mind...can't imagine your stress

Calling Beatles fans...you can listen to an amazing event
Astrojanitor replied to boyst's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I totally agree. Beatles were perfect because they balanced McCartney's shoo-be-doo pop with Lennon's cynicism and Harrison's mysticism. And Ringo. On his own McCartney is a little too blandly cute for my tastes. -
Suspended for the rest of the season: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/NFL-suspends-Jets-coach-rest-of-season-for-tripp?urn=nfl-295447 so, nfl suspension logic is tripping a player is worse than a fist fight in the middle of a game, equal to running an illegal dog fighting ring/stealing family pets and torturing them but slightly less offensive than being accused of rape. twice.

Say Something Positive about the 2010 Bills
Astrojanitor replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trent was not traded--he was fired. That says to me the FO actually has expectations and are willing to boot those who do not pull their weight. No playing around...just get out of Buffalo. Now when we talk about the negatives from 2010 I will say the exact opposite of the above when talking about Chris Kelsay. -
I'm on your side, Prince is the dude. Amazing in every way. Black Eyed Peas are useless--but at least I won't have to get uncomfortable watching Roger Daltrey drop a ball trying to hit those high notes Don't really see a huge overlap between football fans and terrible pop-rap fans...but what do I know?

Rachel Flotard from Visqueen has one of my favorite voices. Real feminine but tough too. She also sings back-up for Neko Case--a great singer in her own right.

I wouldn't give up any picks for Romo. You want to talk about choking, that guy is a mess in big games. Unfortunately he also tends to get injured easily (I wouldn't call it a toughness issue--more of a bad luck/fragility thing). Besides, Romo is not the issue with Dallas. They have Yankees disease, a bunch of overpaid drama queens who can not get the job done. If they were smart they'd unload a bunch of their "stars" and grab some guys with something to prove.

Can Fitzpatrick Overcome His Choking?
Astrojanitor replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly right! why people are in such a hurry to start over again now that serious progress is being made is beyond me. These last few weeks have been the best I've seen the Bills offense in years. -
No outrage over Merrimans past arrest?
Astrojanitor replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right? Convicted of a violent felony...accused of violent crime, yet found to be completely innocent of ANY wrongdoing. You'd thing the difference would be obvious. One guy got a boner off torturing animals, the other physically stopped a drunk woman from driving. Very clearly the same thing. Where's the outrage over these very comparable crimes? Idiots... -

Astrojanitor replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
all of this And why are some of you idiots trying to prove a point when you have no idea what you are talking about? Let's make it easy: violent convicted felon? Does not belong in NFL. Accused of stuff? America says that's not good enough to ruin a life over. -
new Huey Lewis and the News album drops today. It's a day we'll all remember

A Few Thoughts About The Game
Astrojanitor replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
could not agree more. Not sure how Fitz gets all the praise for Baltimore and all the blame for KC. He made some bonehead throws, but point to one decent QB who doesn't make those mistakes. Look at cats like Eli and Favre (calm down everyone--not saying Fitz is that good) those two are kings of bonehead moves. When you are trying to will a win into happening dumb mistakes happen. I wish that INT didn't happen, but I have seen much better QBs do the exact thing nearly every week. -
Buffalo fans should be happy today
Astrojanitor replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think I agree. It's beginning to feel like rock bottom was the Trent games this year. I wouldn't go so far as to say we have a "good" football team on our hands (a good team would have pulled off the win yesterday. More importantly yesterday's effort showed we have a good stopgap in Fitz. Instead of drafting some kid and immediately throwing him to the wolves, we have a QB who can teach Luck--or whoever--how to think through a pro football game. If the D gets shored up Fitz can lead us to the playoffs. probably not deep in the playoffs--but help create a real team. Games like yesterday's show me we will not have to pin all our hopes on some 22 year old rookie QB, we can be more reasonable in the rebuilding -

Chan was pushing the pass way too hard. A smarter game plan could have won -

right...I can't believe Fitz let the Chiefs run for over 200 yards...and missed a FG? Clearly all of Fitz's fault -

man I really don't want to see one bad throw by Fitz to cause this loss. If only to get the conversation past the whole bitching about the QB thing -

this kind of game is exactly why I think Fitz is the guy for the future. Started off slow...making mistakes. Kept his head in the game and led 2 huge drives. Will probably never make the pro bowl, but I think he is the kind of guy we need. A good leader and tough player -

that was the most delicate and loving tackle I ever saw. Nice how they gently lowered Cassel to the ground
