  1. Bill Cowher to Bills (e3) more to come...
  2. I was going to post the exact same thing. That's hilarious.
  3. Billick in 2007 was a train wreck. Dick Jauron beat him. He was worse at coaching that day than DJ. That is more than enough ammo for me not to hire him. My wish list has Cowher #1, Marty Schottenheimer #2. Anyone other than those 2 guys would be a complete disappointment.
  4. You really believe DJ thought his job was on the line? He just signed a new 3 year 9 mil contract with Ralph Wilson. DJ was retained after that horrific finish last year because he was owed too much $$. No way DJ thought Ralph would eat 6 mil for the next 2 seasons if he didn't produce. I'm sure he figured he had one more year on top of this one at the least. If I was DJ, I wouldn't have been concerned about my job at all heading into this year.
  5. I bet it was DJ. It was his defense. He picks guys that he thinks will fit his scheme best. From what I've heard/read, guys before like Nix or Modrak bring 3 or 4 names to the table and then someone picks the person from that group. So I'm 100% sure there was a debate between Orakpo and Maybin on draft day. The question we'll never know is who made the push for Maybin. I'll bet it was DJ. If it wasn't - get ready for another decade of losing football. Gotta try to stay positive.
  6. This is such a terrible idea. Folks, when Jim Kelly called the plays on the field, they used 12 or 16 plays continuously. They threw wrinkles into those plays from week to week, but the basic structure of the play was the same. The opposing defense knew they were going to run these plays, but they couldn't stop them. The 90s Bills had way too much talent on offense. That's why teams couldn't stop them. Kelly hasn't played football since 1996. It's been 14 years. Think about where you were 14 years ago. The internet was just getting its legs. Message boards weren't even thought of. Cell phones were a major luxury. NFL offenses have evolved tremendously since then. Think about the offense the Bills tried to run this year. NFL defenses ate them up and laughed at how easy it was to prepare for them. Getting Kelly as an OC or HC is like hiring a mechanic who has been retired for 14 years. Can he change the brakes on a new car? Sure. Is he going to be able to diagnose and fix big problems with your car that require the use of a computer? No - he has no idea that a computer can be used to diagnose the problem. Even if he heard that a computer could be used, he'd have no idea how to work it. All he would do is tell you how much better cars were made 20 or 30 years ago and how much easier they were to work on.
  7. I will say this, I was very excited to see that Shanny only got 7 mil in DC. The bar for Cowher can't be higher than 10 mil. Good news, since 10 mil was the max that Wilson said he would pay.
  8. I moved back to WNY 2 years ago. Best decision we ever made. We had great jobs in SC. SC is a great place to vacation for a week, not to live permanently.
  9. that LB we had with the last name of 'Joe' a couple years ago.
  10. I'll give you a million dollars if you can name a head coach that won more than 1 super bowl as a head coach for 2 different teams...
  11. Isn't this exactly what I said before and you took my head off?
  12. I hope McKelvin ends up being a better cornerback than a kick returner.
  13. Not according to the topic there tin man. That is unless the Bills bring in a real GM before we beat the PATS & Colts.
  14. Tell me a real, credible GM that's going to come to Buffalo when your HC is already picked out for you. I say hire a real GM, and let him decide who to hire as HC.
  15. This will sound ridiculous, but I was impressed after Byrd's INT that he slid to the ground once he realized that he wasn't going through 10 people to score a TD. That to me shows a lot of football intelligence. You think McKelvin would have done that? Mr. "You never know when I'm gonna break one?". Or how about when Kelsay got a penalty for hitting Brady when Brady declared himself down behind the line of scrimmage? I remember Kelsay's quote - "Someone had to get credit for the sack".
  16. that's the downfall of the cover 2 defense. that's how you beat it. 20 yard seam pass to the TE down the middle.
  17. why would byrd knock the ball down? have you forgotten how many of his picks have come from tipped balls? You don't think a WR couldn't catch a tipped ball in the endzone? i love how people try to de-value byrd's INTs because they are tipped passes. Chris Chambers and TO can't even catch balls that thrown directly to them. Catching a tipped pass requires a lot of concentration and great reflexes. Also, tell me how many INTs Fitzpatrick really should have? How many times have LBs or CBs dropped balls thrown right to them for an INT? People should be thankful Buffalo finally found a great player in Byrd.
  18. I distinctly remember Polian last year saying that Maybin has the size to play defensive end in a 4-3 scheme too.
  19. I agree with you 100%. It's the number one reason I cannot fully get behind Perry Fewell. I hate the cover 2 defense and it will stay if Fewell is the coach. If you want a different style of defense, you need a new coach. Plain and simple.
  20. I think the Bills cannot get permission to interview other NFL team's personnel people until after the season ends. I think (and hope) this is the reason.
  21. hitler was pretty upset about us signing T.O.
  22. am i the only one who thought TO could have caught that tipped ball when we were near the goal line in the 4th quarter? if only he was paying attention...
