Roster Breakdown (offense first)
....lybob replied to JPicc2114's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Steve Johnson is an above average WR- he's not an above average #1 WR, in fact I'd rate him somewhere between 17-21 so he's a slightly below average #1 WR. -

Well the Libs must be falling down on the job because when I put in OWS the third result is "Socialist OWS mob invades Oakland" by TeaPartyTelevision and the fourth result Is "Peter Schiff "Walmart doesn't hold a gun to your head"" by ReasonTV. -
This is a team that refuses to compete in Free agency, looks for GMs and coaches they can get on the cheap, says they want to build through the draft but for the most part can't draft as well as a fan with a couple draft guides could especially in rounds 1-3 (except for this last draft), do not retain their better Free agents, cut players who salaries outstrip performance but never use the savings to improve the team, and because they have so few stars end up paying more for mediocre players.

I love how 3rdrate supports DaveinElmabama too, it's very progressive almost ACLU like, remember we should support freedom of speech even when that speech is repugnant, ACLU supported neo-NAZI marches 3rdrate supports DaveDukeinElma posts, of course I only see 3rdrates comments quoted so maybe it's not about free speech maybe it's about love - either way it's very progressive. -
The Most Transparent Administration Ever
....lybob replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
it goes like this Perry, Cain, Bachmann, Santorum, Gingrich vs Obama = Obama vote Romney vs Obama = Third party vote Paul, Huntsman vs Obama = Paul or Huntsman vote This might have made sense when you thought it but it's one of the more incoherent things you have written. -

Obama's administration has been worse on transparency than Bush's administration and that's saying something. -
Right now Detroit and Buffalo are tied with the longest non-playoff streak in the NFL if Detroit makes and we don't then we will have to listen for a year about how Buffalo has the longest Non-playoff streak in the NFL.

Good news about our Dline...
....lybob replied to HerdMenatlity1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing would help this defense more than to get Kyle Williams and Dareus together in the middle of a 4-3, Carrington would be adequate as a LDE and the next draft has a pretty good selection of 4-3 RDEs. Kyle Williams is a very good player but he's not really what you want at NT and he's not a 3-4 DE, if the Bills stick with the 3-4 they need a real NT and a couple of great 3-4 OLBs. -
This- we need to hit on our top three picks the next couple of drafts.

Why are you busting on Booster? /dev/null started the topic Booster gave you a nice Link BTW didn't Scalia set the standard for recusal when he refused to remove himself on a ruling of whether the White House must release information about private meetings of Cheney's energy task force with different industry leaders. The recusal was requested by by the Sierra Club, the environmental group saying it was improper for Scalia to take a hunting trip with Cheney while the court was considering whether the White House must release information about private meetings of Cheney's energy task force. Scalia said the remote Louisiana hunting camp used for a duck hunting and fishing trip ``was not an intimate setting.'' ``My recusal is required if ... my impartiality might reasonably be questioned,'' Scalia wrote. ``Why would that result follow from my being in a sizable group of persons, in a hunting camp with the vice president, where I never hunted with him in the same blind or had other opportunity for private conversation?''

Dwayne Bowe, Vincent Jackson, Marques Colston are some of the big tough WRs set to hit free agency - while DeSean Jackson,Wes Welker, Pierre Garcon might repersent some smaller faster WRs- the Bills have to do some serious self scouting to determine whether Stevie is a legit #1WR worth the big bucks or just the best the Bills have- IMO the Bills have been notorious for paying lessor lights the big bucks because they refuse to pay for stars - or to put another way Bruce Smith is expensive but having him lets you pay Phil Hanson less.

Exactly!!!! the defense has been garbage from the beginning but losing both Bell and Hairston was a big blow. -
Scrape this 3 - 4 hybrid defense, go back to 4 -3
....lybob replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No the Bills went to 4 superbowls using the 3-4 it was a very different 3-4 than what is in vogue now- RE Bruce Smith 265, NT Jeff Wright 270, LE Phil Hanson 270 would be tiny compared to today's' 3-4s. I agree the 4-3 would be a better fit for the Dline talent we have, Dareus and Williams would be a very good DT combo, Carrington could be a decent LE in a 4-3 but we lack a talented RE - Mario Williams is a free agent in 2012 but when was the last time the Bills really made a splash in free agency?- and now you need 4-3 LBs, I can't picture more than 2-3 of the Bills current LBs who could make the transition . -

geeze you are so senile you forgot your name, it's Magox not Adam -
At the beginning of the season I predicted the Bills as a 6-10 team and I thought that was generous- and that is when I thought Kyle Williams was going to be a linchpin for the defense and Merriman might be 80% of his former self- This team doesn't have a lot of talent period, they have not drafted well (although I think 2011 draft was pretty good)and they bargain hunt in Free agency.

CJ Spiller Is going to be a weapon
....lybob replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought Spiller was a stupid pick for the Bills and that was when I thought Spiller was going to be a much better Reggie Bush- now I see Spiller as a poor mans Reggie Bush. -

....lybob replied to rjwjr21668's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whitner instead of Ngata Maybin Spiller There are reasonable picks that don't work out but the above are WTF picks- the Bills have had these WTF moments under a number of coaches and GMs now so I really don't know what the problem is exactly, maybe some neuro-toxin in the water at One Bills Drive because Ralph was to cheap get standard piping and used cheap Chinese substitute. -

....lybob replied to Dave_In_Norfolk's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I wouldn't call Newt trash, I'm a progressive so I'd call him a recyclable- of course it's only the utter failure of the extreme right to put forth candidates who can articulate coherent thoughts that has allowed the slim possibility of changing Newt's "hey don't forget about me book tour" into an actual political campaign. So Newt is the latest batter up in the anybody but Romney grinding war of attrition, Romney the favorite of Wall Street should be a shoe-in but more than 40% of Evangelicals won't vote for a Mormon. You almost have to consider that the GOP is throwing the race I mean it's amazing that someone has to win from such a sorry field. It must be very frustrating being a Republican and realizing that despite almost apocalyptic economic conditions that Obama has a better than 50-50 chance of winning. -

He sucks up vital resources from the GOP while offering no benefits in return and in fact cause deleterious changes in behavior and has demonstrated multiple host life-cycles seen as different stages in his political career and when thought eradicated it turns out he was merely dormant as he hid undetected in the head and heart of the GOP those most unused of organs. -
Gary Johnson and Buddy Roemer are two candidates you are going to have a hard time finding on main stream media, but it's not a surprise, look how main stream does everything in their power to ignore and marginalize Ron Paul. Gary Johnson has some interesting ideas on how revenue should be collected (google fair tax plan), Buddy Roemer focus is on getting special interest money out of politics, he has a couple interesting ideas for transparency that might be workable but unless either/both "money= free speech" and "corporate personage" are overturned then his other ideas would probably be ruled unconstitutional.
