  1. More Like you bitching about your wife spending a $100 on a pair of shoes because you loss $100,000 gambling and are feeling a little tight.
  2. Exactly, all this drumbeat of false outrage is hilarious, Obama disregarding the constitution and flaunting international law in excess of what Bush did and hardly a peep but some piddling tax on Christmas trees that's what energizes PPP- Tens of Billions just disappears in Iraq who cares- 16 dollar muffins (which of course wasn't true anyways) sputtering outrage.
  3. China has a lot of balls to juggle but from all the difference conferences I've watched I have to give credit that Chinese officials are aware of these many different problems both present and future and are devising/implementing counter measures- and while it is unknown whether they will be successful or not I find them more aware, more knowledgeable, more transparent, and more responsive with China,s problems than our elected officials are with ours.
  4. I don't think of China as a Juggernaut but all these predictions of imminent collapse seem to come from an ideological bias or whistling past the graveyard. I do think China is doing some things better than The US - I think China's securing natural resources through business arrangements is smarter than the US doing the same thing through military dominance, I think China's decision to be world class in certain sectors of forecasted importance may be a better idea than to have no industrial policy and let everything be driven by market forces.
  5. yep all on Obama and the Dems from the Cato institute
  6. It all depends on whose ox is gored
  7. For about 30 years I've been hearing that China's gonna go bust and I'm sure one day these people are going to be right- but most of these people are looking for indications to support their preconceived notion that China's system can't work, they have a strong bias in their predictions, of course one day they will be right just like one day those predicting the end of the world will be right.
  8. You should listen to him B-Large, no one knows more about being an insufferable douche bag than Rob. Rob doesn't understand there's a difference between territorial thugs and being discriminant against by business and government, while racism has lessened you still have examples of it's pervasiveness as demonstrated by studies like this My link
  9. Unless he owns that bar he has as much right to ask anyone to leave as the man in the moon.
  10. This isn't about Putting Lindell on IR because he sucks it's about putting Lindell on IR because he's going to be out of at least half the remaining games and more likely 3/4ths of remaining games- The question to me is there anyone on the practice squad who can come up and help the team- Donald Jones didn't look particularly effective to me and I've liked what little I saw of Aiken. Merriman and Williams are both on IR so I'm not getting your point - also there would be a difference if this happened to Lindell early in the season.
  11. Lindell will be out 4-6 weeks, personally I would not carry him on the active roster, I'd bring up Kamar Aiken or Michael Jasper.
  12. If OWS has parents its' father would be Adbusters and its' mother would be the G20 protests. Some money might be going to OWS from a Soros supported institutions but it's probably in the ten of thousands compared to millions funneled to the Tea Party from Koch brothers supported institutions (Freedom Works, Americans for Prosperity, and the Heritage Foundation)
  13. Clinton signed the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 and the repeal of the Glass Stegall act which probably makes him as responsible as anyone for the 2008 financial meltdown.
  14. So anyone have any comments on the Jack Abramoff interview- I thought I'd get more than one reply, not that it's new information but I thought some might find the scope surprising.
  15. Wall Street loves Romney and despite the complaining likes Obama plenty- so unless a dead body shows up I think Romney ends up the last man standing for the GOP.

  17. Even if I was to concede that America is overwhelmingly conservative I fail to see the advantage of Democrats being Republican-lite, why have political parties if you can't fit a sheet of paper between them. Actually if the Democrats self-destructed I don't think the Republicans would be far behind, a coalition of Christian fundamentalists, libertarians, and corportists can only be held together by their hatred of liberals, take that threat away and the coalition disintegrates.
  18. The Achilles Tendon attaches in the back of the heel (so a bone spur in the back heel which is pretty common) could effect the Achilles Tendon.
  19. Depends if we plan to stick with the 3-4 or if they might go back to the 4-3, if you are sticking to the 3-4 then OLBs like Courtney Upshaw is the pick if you are switching to the 4-3 then an OLB like Zack Brown in the first and DE Vinny Curry in the 2nd and a better WR is a must if the offense is ever going to take the next step The dream scenario would be getting Mario Williams DE and Desean Jackson WR in free agency and Zack Brown in the draft. A DLine of Carrinton, Dareus, a healthy K. Williams, Mario Williams would be pretty awesome. again the above is just a dream but if the Bills could fine a decent right end and add it to Carrington, Dareus and K Williams it would be pretty awesome
  20. I like the Dareus pick just fine but I'd probably have taken a LB like (Ayers or Reed) over Williams but that's nothing against Williams just thought OLB was a bigger need.
  21. If we let peak oil destroy us it will be because of willful stupidity more than anything else. There are no technological blocks that stops us from maintaining livable standards. The path is pretty clear 1. Electricity generation will come from safer Nuclear power, Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors, subcritical accelerator-driven systems, and eventually nuclear fusion. natural gas and geothermal/concentrated solar hybrid plants can serve as the bridge to nuclear power. 2. Transportation will be increasingly electrified ( drivers of the Volt which has 35-40 miles of electric range have been doing between 75%-80% of their miles on electricity) future versions with better batteries could easily have 80-120 electric range which would increase the miles traveled on electricity to 90-95%. Biofuels or Coal gasification to liquid fuel can make up the 5-10% left. 3. Efficiency - it is possible to achieve equivalent home comfort levels at 1/3rd- 1/10th energy usage - Amory B. Lovins at the Rocky mountain institute is a good resource another one is Monolithic Dome institute - Remember if you cut your energy usage by 2/3rds (while achieving the same ends) it's equivalent to tripling your energy supply.
  22. Here's the question If someone told you in August that Kyle Williams was going to play hurt all season and ultimately miss complete games, That Evans would be gone from the start and Parrish would miss all but a game and a half, that Merriman would not pan out at all, that the Bills would lose both their starting LT and his immediate replacement for parts of the season, that the Bills would be depleted at WR and CB and lose LBs Davis and Kelsay What would you think their record would be midway in the season?.
  23. To be fair having the HypnoToad avatar wasn't /dev/null's idea it was the HypnoToad's
  24. yep I was thinking the exact same thing, best draft in a long time, but it wasn't a surprise a lot of draft gurus were touting it as the best draft in a decade- For me the emergence of Cam Newton in his first year is huge, I wasn't a Cam basher but I thought it would take him a couple seasons before he really came on.
  25. If you get him with a 6th round pick or as a free agent like the jets then you're pretty damn happy - if you use a 1st and take him instead of Orakpo, Oher, Matthews, or Pettigrew then you're pretty miserable.
