  1. I think that the negative comments and posts are a result of ten years of losing. I now live in Las Vegas, left WNY 10 years ago, and I get frustrated when quality HC candidates turn down the Bills. Buddy Nix seems competent and should be able to assemble a better coaching staff then we had during the Jaron era.
  2. I still remember watching that game on a big screen while working at BJ's Wholesale Club (my college job). The place sounded like you were at the stadium. That was the best time to be a Bills fan. The Raiders (espically Howie Long) talked a lot of smack before the game and just choked when they faced JK and the no huddle. The patritoism of the Bills fans was awesome! If I remember correctle, LB Carlton Bailey's father was serving at the time, and Baily was playing for his father.
  3. That would be awesome!
  4. "You can never have enough DB's. It's hard to win in the NFL, you know." Dick Jaron "Let's convert the DB pick to LB. You can never have enough undersized LB's in the NFL" Bills Management
  5. I agree. I used to listen to him when I lived in Buffalo. I listen to WGR via the internet, and Shoop and the Bulldog are not as good. The Coach's rants use to get on my nerves often. I remember that he had an axe to grind against Marv Levy because Levy fired him after the 92 Super bowl.
  6. The Bills have no leverage. Crappy economy, crappy team, terrible ownership and management. Cowher will stay at CBS making mucho bucks and watching his daughter play sports. He will return to the NFL when he wants and it will be on his terms, not the Bills. I sometimes wish the Bills will move so I can root for anther team. This is pathethic! An NFL franchise cannot even convience someone who is worth a darn to even interview for the job!
  7. Face it Bills fans, only two men are willing to come to Buffalo: Mike Martz or Jim Haslet. Pick one.
  8. Remember, Lynch stated that his car ran the girl over. I guess the car had a mind of its own. Lynch needs to go. Like another post stated, you can take Lynch out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of Lynch.
  9. You could be right. Don't forget the Sabres habit of letting everyone go after the team has some success. Hopefully Sabres management has learned from past mistakes. I would love to see the Sabres win a Stanley Cup before I die.
  10. That's what I thought! Let's hope that history does not repeat itself.
  11. Generation Gap issue here. Quote is from the 1978 movie Animal House. Recommended by all of us "old guys" I'm sure.
  12. Ralph always hires someone who he can control. Every GM or coach who has stood up to RW has been fired or has quit. Nix will not make any decisions unless RW approves it.
  13. Agreed. Clean house means letting everyone go, and that's what Nix did.
  14. It's a combination of things. Ralph Wilson is a medlesome owner. League insiders know this (my opinion, no facts or links to back this up). The Buffalo economy sucks. I left Buffalo because after earning two BA degrees from Canisius College, the best job that I could get (pay wise) was to be an overnight manager at Wegmans. My wife and I left Buffalo in 2000, moved to Las Vegas, and doubled our income. The country knows about the crappy economy in Buffalo. The Bills sell out the Ralph, but they have the lowest ticket prices in the NFL, effectively hamstringing the franchise. Compare the income of the Bills and Cowboys for example. Cowboys by a landslide. On the plus side, I deeply miss the people of WNY. They are intelligent (most of them), hard working (out west they are lazy), passionate and caring. In Buffalo, your neighbors talk to you. Not so out west. The Bills have a passionate fan base. Imagine how much money Ralph would make if the Bills actually won! Last, the country percieves the snow in Buffalo as a bad thing. A lot of people will not come to Buffalo because of the cold. Personally, I love the weather out west during the winter because it is not as hot as hell. There is nothing wrong with the cold. However, Bills management needs to sell the Buffalo weather as a good thing because the opponent needs to overcome the Bills ( no problem these days), the weather, and the fans. Nothing is as beautiful to watch as the Bills wooping on a west coast or southern team in the winter.
  15. With all due respect, who cares how they were fired. As long as they are out of One Bills Drive, I'm cool with that. Let me repeat what I wrote yesterday in a post: 7-9, 7-9, 7-9, 6-10 in the last four years. I'm glad that they are all fired. Buddy Nix should have said "The free ride is over gentlemen, pack your you know what and get the heck out of this stadium."
  16. The man won a super bowl. That is one more super bowl victory than the Bills have had in their 50 year existance. Depending on who Billick brings with him, this may not be a bad move. I would like Cowher like many of you, but I don't think that he is coming to Buffalo.
  17. Good. This staff has gone 7-9, 7-9, 7-9, and 6-10. They suck as a group. Bobby April had some good years, but his special teams unit cost us at least two games this year. The Bills are a business. The fans have demanded change, and this is a start. Now it's time to start cutting these crappy, loser players.
  18. I was raised to hate the Cowboys, Raiders, and the Dolphins (no love lost for the Patriots these days). I want the Cowboys to lose, but want Wade to be successful at a HC. I have found myself rooting for Dallas this year just to see Wade win a playoff game. I will not shed any tears if the Cowboys lose at any time during the playoffs however.
  19. Or watch them become the victim of the "tuck" rule. I would prefer your field goal ending however.
  20. Loved Haslet as a player, was funny with Fred Smerlas on WBEN (anyone remember their radio show?), but the man is not my first choise to be HC of the Bills. There are many more qualified candidates out there.
