McCoy has upside. If things ever come together while a Bill and he closes out his career here putting up numbers on a par with his production in Philly, he's a legit Hall of Fame candidate. He could wind up a player as good and as useful as Thurman. Not saying that will happen, but he's probably capable of it. It's not all only up to him.

The buck mostly stops with them to be sure, especially in a financial sense, but honestly they should be able to expect sound advice from their subject matter experts. I can't really blame them for relying on whatever they were told by their adviser(s). That's what they pay them the big bucks for. I feel badly for Pegs who now has a big mess on his hands. He looks like a decent sort and deserved better.

That may be however in my experience good businessmen (of which Pegs is surely one) never take a decision in an area where they are not themselves expert. In fact, they always invariably seek the advice of the most knowledgeable people and insist on having that. Otherwise they would not be good businessmen after all. The suggestion that Pegs was simply simply sucked in by Wrecks after a few hours together seems highly improbable to me, it defies logic, especially when you consider the kind of contract and reporting line Wrecks was given. IMO somebody besides Wrecks sold him to Pegs, someone Pegs relied on. If it was Whaley, that might explain why Pegs now hates him ( if he does). Whoever it was should be hung from a tree with a lit bomb in his mouth.

You're right IMO unless he's legit as a franchise back and you're whole offence basically runs through him.

Around the NFL: Odell Beckhams meltdown

Well I really can see no reason why a corner, any corner, would like OBJ. He's the best WR in the game. -
LeShaun McCoy is a top shelf franchise running back with no dog in him. You may not like the personality but there's nothing wrong with the player.

You mad bro? -
No it's not Promo. His O-line draftees are horrible. The only good wideout is Sammy. But moving up and paying that price shows just how clueless he is. Oh yeah and if not Sammy it's Ebron. CJ Graham befor TY Hilton? Goodwin? Look at teams that know how to evaluate WRs Pitt, big Blue, Zona, Cinci etc... EJ is a monumental gaffe - bad enuf to get a GM fired in and of itself. He's pretty good evaluating defensive talent in the draft but you need a GM to be good on both sides, or at least not terrible.

The MMQB: Is Tyrod Taylor "The Guy"?
starrymessenger replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think anyone knows for sure right now, We'll have a much better idea one year from now. -
O'Leary was ok today. Not just the catch (showed "football speed"). He made a good block too.

Why so serious? Beating up the best corner in the league (in more ways than one). Don't worry someone will clock him sooner rather than later. -

Unless Boobie is the second coming of Easley on special teams (which I haven't noticed), I too would look to replace Boobie. We haven't seen enuf of Gilislee, but so far he looks like a good # 3, not a main backup to McCoy, and if, as has been suggested, Karlos is not the answer, then we could likely do with an upgrade. But I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in the next three games. As for the Miller comparison, just checkout Miller's TD run versus the Giants with Gillislee's TD run vs Philly. Very similar styles it seems to me. -

You have a point, and if you're right Gillislee is probably not the guy you are looking for as a 1A. But who knows, he might surprise. I would think the next three games are important for him to show what he has. -

No no John. We're not talking about the top 5 franchise running back McCoy. We are talking about Gillislee. And I didn't say that we were weak at the RB position (tho we could use some upgrades if Karlos can't make it thru concussion protocols). Yeah, I really like Miller too. My comment re his being a poor man's Miller has more to do with running style (they are similar IMO) and the different degrees of accomplishment when you compare the two - not just the fact that Gillislee is a 3rd stringer. -

Not unhappy but doesn't look to be more than a poor man's Lamar Miller. -
Pettine: "Wilson not top tier."
starrymessenger replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt Pettine has forgotten more football than I will ever know. But I like Russell Wilson. A lot. So much that I have no problem pairing him with an elite guy like Drew Brees. -
Tyrod Taylor and the Heroic Run to 7-9
starrymessenger replied to UBBullsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every Sunday we see top shelf QBs do things in the passing game that Tyrod has never done. And it's unfortunately not just the acknowledged franchise guys. It's also the young up and comers, like Bortles, Winston, Mariota, Carr - and it includes someone like Wilson whose attempts have in the past at least been limited, like Tyrod 's. I don't think anyone knows for sure whether Tyrod can elevate his game to bona fide starter level, but it looks like we are going to find out. At the very least he should with the experience he will now be getting develop into good backup/change of pace type guy, which is certainly very nice to have. I just wouldn't be writing any blank checks anytime soon. -
I hate to admit it, but Taylor sucks

He should have kicked Gragg in the stones when he 100% whiffed on Clowney.
