  1. I'm very encouraged by the defense. Not every team can give their QB time to find his range, come to grip with his newfound expectations, AND still manage to win. We drought survivors are so worried about the other shoe dropping that we can't wrap our minds around the possibility of JA coming around and becoming a more complimentary offense. It isn't crazy, just the trauma we lived through: 4-1 Trent Edwards getting his brain broken, the Fitzpatrick contract season that started 5-2. Allen doesn't even have to be the 2020 version for this team to make a deep run. But we'll need at least the 2019 version.
  2. why did the personal foul not count? why were we at midfield? am I having stroke?
  3. After videotaping practices, stealing playbooks, videotaping super bowl walkthroughs, using late substitutions/formations that are banned the next season, misrepresenting injury reports, having “doctors” that aren’t medical doctors supplying “supplements” to the team, and having support staff that refers to himself as “the Deflator, we’re all super evil for expecting the worst from a superlative character who should probably replace Lombardi’s name from the trophy.
  4. You can’t complain about a thread that is complaining for the sake of complaining.
  5. I hope so. Good odds on that streak ending with the news of Fuller out for Miami with personal issues. Meanwhile I’m trying to up my streak to 7-0 for the WFT game. Going with my wife that’s 2-0.
  6. Finally, a well researched fact on this thread.
  7. Noticed that very early on in the game that the Steelers D was throwing their hands up and doing their best Lebron James imitation. Flopping has jumped sports.
  8. As sophomoric as it sounds, I got the jab mostly because there were rumblings earlier this year that they would probably be required. The irony that I’m coming up for the WFT game is palpable. Is there an vaccine passport app that works across states? Or is it just bring your card to the stadium?
  9. Josh needs a get right game. He seems to feel at home in Miami.
  10. I don't fault McDermott going for it if this were last year and we were rolling. This year, with a retooled OL, Dawkins struggling, Josh clearly not in a rhythm, it seemed very off. Did the big contract Allen got include "go for it" veto power? He always want to go for it, and I love that about him. But we need a coach to override with experience. It was as if we were trying to gamble on last year's credit. And we ate the losses.
  11. I'm crushed. Coming up for the WFT game. Now its going to be a more competitive game.
  12. What number am I thinking of right now?
  13. A veteran CB? On the depth chart it lists Dane Jackson as backup for CB1 and CB2. Not sure what the strategy is for keeping so few CBs on the roster. Miami has 13.
  14. Dayyyo dayyyo everybody’s going to the Mighty Taco
  15. My classroom that year had a Bo Jackson poster. . I remember classmates telling me that Buffalo was screwed because they had: 2 sport superstar Bo Jackson SB champ Marcus Allen SB champ Roger Craig SB and World Champion relay runner Willie Gault Future hall of famer Howie Long SB champion Ronnie Lott
  16. I was sold on Phillips being an emotional leader on defense. He as always trying to pump up the crowd to get loud. At the Redskins game in 2019, he was personally responsible for me losing my voice. Not as much that I was cheering so wildly as much as we couldn't figure out how to stop Adrian Peterson until the 2nd half, and even then we kept giving them the ball back (not to mention Bojo shanked the worst punt I've ever seen live, and I saw many high school football games). I think they only converted two 3rd down conversions. It felt like we had to make noise like 22 times on third down. I was hearing the train noise in my sleep. But Beane and Co made the right decision on this one.
  17. I was excited about the Knox/Hollister combo. They’re both tall and relatively fast. Not on the Hernandez/Gronk level but our 2 TE looks would have at least made defenses think for an extra second about coverages. We’ve seen Sweeney. Here’s hoping Gilliam can be the first hybrid FB/TE. Or our secret weapon in Morris is a quick study.
  18. Microsoft Michel has better specs but less exclusives
  19. I forget, how many teams are supposed to regret not drafting him? And is that minus the 5 teams he’s already been on?
  20. I was comfortable moving on from Roberts when we thought Mackenzie has his dropsies under control. But seeing as how it’s part of his game, I’d be okay with a 6th or 7th rounder to lose the TD return possibilities but to gain the ball security smarter decision making. When it comes down to it, Allen and company are what gets points, not returns.
