For those of you that actually like Bell

QUOTE (DarthICE @ Mar 3 2010, 02:15 PM) * Yeah about that....we are the only in the AFCE not set at QUARTERBACK either....a greater need than LT. ZING!!!! he can't answer that one His persistent argument is a useless hypothetical one. He bangs the drum like Keith Moon about getting a franchise QB above all else even if he will get killed behind our non existent o-line. Top 10 drafted QBs play and start their rookie year with but the Phillip Rivers exception in the last BUNCH of years. There is no get your top 10 pick QB and let him sit on the bench. Doesn't happen. When you ask him which QB qualifies this year as the next Jim Kelly Franchise guy and if he thinks they will be there for us at #9.......nothing but crickets!!!!! -

Bell is terrible. How does this explain all of the penalties specifically false starts? How do you not remember the freakin snap count? -

How many probowls has Peters made in a row? I'll take the opinion of fellow athletes, coaches and GMs that determine the probowl rosters -

This is not even a rumor. This is some jackass suggesting that the Lions would want to trade down. There is absolutely nothing in there about the Browns or Bills actually wanting to move up just this guys assessment of their needs at the position.
-
How about we try it on a QB that has a big arm and has shown the balls to go deep in the past?

Nice avatar by the way.

No doubt. Other than last year we have REALLY ignored the offensive and defensive lines early in the draft. Last year BARELY even counts as far as that goes too. We got Aaron Maybin who never really played DL and now he will be moving to LB. Woods was a first round draft pick but he was really a down grade because we gave up a probowl LT to get him. He looked promising but he is a rookie G who will now be trying to come back from a serious injury. Levitre wasn't bad but it's still too early to tell. Free agency hasn't produced any impact players that I have seen for years. It's about time to get back to what makes a team. The trenches and a good QB. You really can't go to far without those.

In today's Buffalo news there was an article about Kawika Mitchell getting health and playing on the inside in the 3 - 4. I found this quote from him very interesting. "I think we have to solidify our offensive line," he said. "Without that, we can't run the ball and the quarterback can't throw the ball. We've got a lot of specialists. We've got a lot of depth in the secondary. The most important part is the offensive and defensive line. If we don't have that, we don't have a chance. I think that goes for everything." -Kawika Mitchell He seems to feel, as I do of course, that Buffalo is really lacking in those areas and that should be where they focus!

OMFG give it a rest dude. Do you really have ANY idea how Dallas' offensive line was ranked the few years prior to 1989? For all you know Dallas could have had a competent to outstanding line. That is of course unless you have PROOF or a LINK that says otherwise. The campaign for Bradford and the QB first strategy is getting really old. You would think there is only one way and one way only to build a championship team or something. -
Yes you did say a LOT of things about Bradford. Just not in this thread. This isn't the only thread you have participated in in this forum that we read

Bad news for those wanting a LT at #9
PDaDdy replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not saying it didn't happen but I don't recall Robert Gallery setting the combine ablaze with his measureables. In fact Gallery's arms are even shorter than Bulaga and he comes from the same program where some say the players are already coached up to be what they can be leaving little upside. If anything Bulaga has the Robert Gallery risk but I don't hold that against him. -

I don't think that scenario will play out but it is not impossible. If all of those tackles go and Claussen falls to us I could also see us trading out of the spot which requires a trade partner and that is NOT easy to find. We could trade down, get an extra pick like a second rounder for a RT, get our LT a little bit later in the first like a Bruce Campbell. With a NT as one of our 2 picks in the 2nd we could call the draft an A+ right there. If we managed to pick up like a Dan Leflour or some other QB prospect with a BIG NFL arm it would pretty much be the perfect draft scenario. I hate speculating about trade down scenarios but if Claussen, a QB, falls to us it might actually be possible that someone would want to move up to get him. -

It will take some time to see how the board is going to shake out but Bruce "Evil Dead" Campbell is starting to look good to me. I think he will be greatly helped by the combine as his measurables are ridiculous for a o-lineman. That being said, although NOT the best OL, in my opinion, I still think Bulaga might be the best fit for Buffalo. -
Following that logic we should bring back Losman. At least he had far greater physical tools and was actually jerked around even more than TE!!!!

With all of the change and flux with the team we could end up even worse -
The Bills' Draft in 2010 should include...

Terrance Cody is Fat and Lazy
PDaDdy replied to Bring Back Kelly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would be an enormous mistake. I mean too small a mistake. In all likelyhood we should have a shot at Dan Williams, Cam Thomas or Terrance Cody in the 2nd. I could see us passing on a LT which would be dumb but our entire defensive scheme doesn't work without a NT. Kyle Williams has proven me wrong a bunch of times but he CAN NOT be a full time NT. I don't want to hear about leverage and blah blah. Get me a big fat bastard Ted Washington, Pat Williams type and we are on the right track. -
Strength is strength. Hardly worthless but what the guy does on tape should indeed matter a hell of a lot more! My only curiosity is whether he will be as dominant against NFL players. At the collegiate level his lack of bench press strength obviously didn't impact his performance. Could it have an effect in the pros? As stated his body of work is of the greatest importance but it is something to consider. Would I knock him out of the 1st round or even the top 10? ....Hell no.
-
Whatever troll. As I said before how can you say Lee won't go over the middle or break tackles when the offensive scheme and crappy QB didn't give him or anyone else an opportunity? Keep stirring the pot. I won't be wasting my time with you.
-
That is ridiculous speculation and 100% incorrect in my opinion. How can you say Lee Evans won't catch balls over the middle when NOBODY ON THE TEAM WAS CATCHING BALLS OVER THE MIDDLE. I look at that as being a QB and or offensive scheme problem. Don't drop that crap on Lee's feet. He is one of the few bright spots we have on this team and your going to run him down? No wonder people hate Bills fans. Always whining and complaining about stupid stuff. Lee Evans and Steve Smith are very close in measureables. Smith is 5'9" 185, Evans 5'10" 197 both ran 4.3 40's at the combine.

An aging superstar who is in better shape then either of us have ever been in our lives. Your trying to compare Lee Evans to perhaps the second best WR who has ever played the game. Check the ruler you use man. Don't you see a problem with that? What world do you live in where Lee Evans has better numbers than Larry Fitzgerald? Link please? Not to mention have you seen how stacked the Cards are at WR? Fitz, Boldin, Breaston. Larry would have even better numbers if he didn't have to share the ball with 2 other great WRs. Not that that is the main point anyway. The point is that Lee is a #1 WR plain and simple. A #1 WR is judged by production, or projected production if you have an incompetent balless QB, not by measurables. If you are one of those guys that thinks a #1 WR has to be 6'3" 220 with 4.4 or better speed we will never see eye to eye.
