  1. Yeah but being wrong never mattered to the media. This story is a total win for them. Either genus drafted to high because he is gay or too low. There will be no that is where he should have gone. Gotta generate clicks!
  2. Oh I agree 100% they were just the only 2 characters I feel that drove the show. The father had a good arc as well now that I think about it but didn't he die?
  3. Man do I agree! It went like this: 1st season - wow have you seen this show it is awesome I can't wait to see what happens! 2nd season - yeah I watch it but it isn't as good as it used to be 3rd -     4th - did they do a fourth? The carnival was brutal. I don't even remember too much about this show other than how awesome it started and then how bad it got. That to me means no show. They were the show and the characters that mattered most. Save the cheerleader save the world. Skylar's arc was a very interesting one as he battled with being good or bad. The cheerleaders wish to be normal and dealing with being a teen. The rest was just noise to me.
  4. I think you will see him re-sign with the team. According to the article he was playing less than 30 snaps a game and making 8.5 million. That isn't really a shocking cut.
  5. Alright so to compare apples to apples using the same sample size 4 out of 8 haven't been successful in the NFL. 1) Yes it did but what is to say the T A&M system isn't the same? Swope's medical history didn't allow us to see whether or not he would be succesful and to date nobody else has gone from Sumlin's system while he has been a hc. 2) While that is true that is an incredibly small sample size, and I wouldn't be comfortable claiming it will always be true. 3) Are there stats to back this up? I've seen it a few times and wondered if there was a way to verify it. I'm not saying it is wrong just want some facts. I won't dispute that the SEC puts out a lot of great talent each year but the part of your argument that I take exception to is that he succeeded in the SEC he will also do so in the NFL. That to me is too much like the player x went school y and they don't produce good qbs argument. Also according to drafttek the top corner from the SEC is the 6th best cb in the draft for fwiw. So again defense is really not as strong as it used to be in the SEC. WOW! That would be a helluva off season for him. From a 5th rounder at the Senior Bowl to 1st rounder after the combine?!!? Cha-Ching!
  6. This makes my top 10 things said on tbd that I disagree with list. It most certainly does. Maintenance and preparation of these athlete's bodies allows them to be much more healthy if done correctly. Look at some of the things Chip Kelly implemented in Philly and listen to what McCoy has to say about them. For a different sport look at the Phoenix Suns training staff. They are widely recognized as the best in all of sports and they routinely have great recovery and low injury count.
  7. I did a bit of digging on this subject to see who potentially would be cost if they signed Byrd. In 2015 the contracts of Erik Pears, Kevin Kolb, Fred Jackson, Sanborn, Legursky, Moeaki, Moorman, Hairston, Lee Smith, and Easley will be up. All of them can be replaced with younger cheaper options saving money for the bigger name players that will be up including Spiller, Dareus, A Williams, and Hughes. In 2016 the contracts of Tj Graham, Bradham, Dennis Dixon, Ramses Barden, and potentially Ron Brooks could all be replaced with cheaper younger options. This would save money for Gillmore, Glenn, and potentially Robey. In 2017 a ton of money becomes available as K Williams, S Johnson, M Lawson, A Branch, and Urbik will be off the books. This would leave money for Manuel (if he deserves it), Woods, Alonso, and Goodwin. Only Eric Wood and Mario Williams have contracts that run until 2018. So nobody of consequence needs to be lost if the Bills work their deals right. Each year money is freed up allowing some contracts to be signed as well as allowing for the money of the Byrd deal. This doesn't even add in the factor of the cap going up each year. This thought of them losing xyz is wrong imo. Obviously everyone can't get paid but living in fear of losing players handcuffs you in the present. The veterans that contribute but aren't stars are the ones that should be replaced with younger cheaper talent each year, not the studs being replaced with high draft picks. This allows your players that are worth big investments to play along side great players that are still on their rookie deals. THAT is how you build a winner.
  8. This was my first thought. The first year with #3 coming back and Dale Jr takes it down? Couldn't be scripted better.
  9. I;m surprised they didn't try to jump them over cuse
  10. While of course he isn't the only reason I can think of a multiple year stretch where the BIlls were placing 10+ guys on IR. This speaks directly to the failures of a training staff. Marrone and Whaley to a certain extent have been put in control. They also are the ones who will receive the blame if things don't get better. Their options should be more than deal with it or quit. More than likely that kind of ideology from management leads to the loss of a lot of good/talented people.
  11. Well it isn't a complete list but after finishing in the top 5 for SEC receiving and not producing much (I'm only using 2007 - 2010 to give them a chance to develop or not) Jeff Fuller TJ Moe Shay Hodge Darvin Adams Greg Childs Chase Coffman Brandon Lafell DJ Hall Lucas Taylor Kenny McKinley So 10 out of 20 giving them a 50% success rate. It really isn't a great indicator when someone lights up the SEC at the WR position whether or not they will be successful at the next level. This was going to be next point above but I will put it down here. It appeared to be a down year for defense in the SEC this year. Spread offenses have jumped ahead of defenses. Alabama was the only team in the conference that didn't give up 20+ points/game this last year. Meanwhile every team except Florida(!) averaged at least 20 points/game.
  12. Yeah that makes some sense. Hopefully we see the change that many of us have been asking(begging?) for years to happen. It will be a good day when these guys are no longer making decisions for the Bills. Marrone and Whaley seem like a team that can change the Bills course around and get it back on the right track (read winning) but if they are hamstrung they will become 2 more people that will believe and have evidence of - don't go to Buffalo, you can't win there.
  13. It is so weird that we can read the same piece and come away with 2 completely different takes. To me this says that those people are right. Instead of just going with it as we have seen Jauron and Gailey do, they are directly questioning and challenging it. You even say as much in your first paragraph. I agree completely that these guys are the problem. Littman and Overdorf have been around for a looooonnng time and had success 20+ years ago in a non salary cap era. The only thing they have been successful at lately is lining Ralph's pockets. Marrone and Whaley are actually interested in winning and that does not coincide with the make as much money as possible ideology that has been par for the course for quite some time here.
  14. Damn I was hoping to get some nice steaks or some jerky lol
  15. So no wager?
  16. Well making a comment with 7 minutes to go is much different than with 10 seconds... That said I will definitely make a wager with you that cuse doesn't drop 8 or 9 spots... What would you like to bet?
  17. You are crazy if you think cuse will drop 8 or 9 spots IF they lose... Still plenty of time left in this one.
  18. She looks way to much like a he for me. Add in the fact that she's an idiot and I'd have to say no.
  19. My feelings on this are that players can't have their cake and eat it too. If you want to be the highest paid and the market bears it good for you. If you want to take a bit of a discount it will invariably help the team around you be stronger which would help in winning. It all boils down to what the player is looking for. Tom Brady has routinely taken less money than he is worth which has allowed the Pats* to put a stronger team around him. Peyton Manning has routinely taken huge deals which lead to him having a weaker supporting cast. I don't fault players for either approach but I think most fans ideally would prefer the stars on their teams want to win more than get paid. That is almost never the case but there are examples of it. Boy I have to agree with you twice in the same thread The networks cover player salaries completely. They don't cover expenses but that number varies from year to year for such things as perfomance bonuses etc... The Bills have no debt and have been very profitable for the last several years. Not surprising either is the fact that teams that are successful are much more profitable. Think about it, the Bills have zero national appeal, have no bandwagon support, and have been a non factor for over a decade which means that it is hard to generate new fans (read young people). All 3 of these things can be changed but putting the emphasis on winning. It would become chic to support small town Buffalo much like Green Bay, Bandwagon support is huge for profitability as they need to buy gear to show their support, and young fans become season ticket holders, raise their kids to be fans, etc..
  20. Just sayin but 3 of those 6 seasons are 1000 yard years. Adding talent isn't a bad thing at the receiver position. Why would you weaken it beforehand though? What is a better receiving corps? One with a draftee and Stevie or one with just the draftee?
  21. Or gloss over the fact that chandler also had a fumble in the Atlanta game. Or that the huge drop in the New England game was with 8 minutes to go and that New England killed the last minute and a half before winning the game. Do you really think that the Bills would have killed 8 minutes? Or that the drop in the Pittsburgh game was over 3 years ago! It was the difference between a 4 and 5 win season. Or that he didn't receive a single celebration penalty this year.
  22. While he might not make it out of camp I think it has seriously been blown out of proportion how bad most here think he is. I think he pays a bit of a price in fans minds because Wilson was taken shortly after him more so than he is as bad as people want to make him out to be. Good? - no. The worst receiver in the league? - no.
  23. I've avoided this thread as I don't even know how to put into words.... Stay strong and god bless you.
  24. I really wanted to like and laugh at this but just couldn't. I didn't even feel bad for the kid just annoyed by his voice. When did I turn into a crotchety old man?
